I installed a car to car radio this summer (Well I had more than a little help). Anyway I was wondering who else who runs at Dumont also runs a car to car system and what channels they use. I have the system in but haven't been able to test it by talking to anybody yet so I am kinda jazzed about learning more on how it's used and who has a system. I think the more communication we have between cars on some of these runs we have been doing is nothing but good. safety is a huge factor to me and more eyes the better. Looking forward to this season and yeah just like Pete I'M JONEZIN REAL BAD TOO!!

I have one and really like it. I actually have one in the trailer too. Ive always thought that it would be good to use one of the channels as an emergency channel in case someone breaks down and needs to call back to camp. Maybe we could look at the channels and come up with an "unofficial emergency channel" for Dumont. Just a thought.

These radios can reach anywhere in Dumont with crystal clear reception.

I had my radios programmed at PCI.

These are the frequency's they have programmed in each memory bank. I usually use Chkrs or BFGrly. But since none of the freq's are running any PL's, Anyone can tune in and talk if they are on the same channel.

Can't wait to try my system out with car to car and music. Also I picked up a new set of headphones for the car with individual volume control as the vol. control on the unit is hard to adjust due to location. It looks like we all have about the same channels . I am looking forward to seeing if mine even works as i haven't been able to pick up anything locally . So gotta wait till dunes. I am going out the weekend before Halloween and back out for the 3 day weekend I have heard that the sand is soft and the razors are sharp with plenty of witches eyes.

Where are you in hendertucky. I live off racetrack and geneva and have them in my car and rhino. My rhino is at the house. you could try it if you are not far. They are cool. When we met 80grit the last trip out we used them and could find him anywhere in the dunes

Havnt hardly used it but I am not sure it is working as good as my las t car set up...to static I feel.. appreciate it

Thanks, supposedly the set up I have is supposed t reach out up to about 60 miles in good conditions. it can be pushed to 70 watts. I would like to try it sometime. i just would have to back it out of the trailer to do. Come to think of it i will be moving it around for loading the trailer and putting on the paddles maybe we could set up a time and channel for this Sunday?

post up approx time and what station you guys are going to try on and I will turn mine on if I am home

We have one on our rhino, works great and when i front flipped it last season i called out "corndog, corndog" and my bros circled around and help us out right away..would come in real handy if there was actually ever an emergency..

its hard to make a channel an emergency channel just because each radio will be programmed differently with each its own frequency. Most people don't know what exact frequency they are on, just the generic channel number IE channel 1 or A,B C etc. but the different company's channel may be different from on to another unless you tell them what freq. you want put on each number.

I use a VHF radio which covers ALL the frequencies and i can program it to ANYONE's freq. can talk from the North pole to the ranger station with perfect clarity

Wouldn't run without, I like mine for the music as well (-=. I have one in buggy, trlr, rhino, adding 3 more for the kids and I on the quads.

the Puxing 888 VHF model hand held radio with a small headset with a PTT works great with dirt bikes quads etc. i have them for mine, and never had problems
