Looks like a lot duners are armed... Great.. Just think of where that round is traveling to if you come out firing... If it gets down to something like that! Hopefully NOT! A .22 cal bullet can travel 1 1/2 miles. A .45 can blow a hole in the R.V. next to you the end size of a Coors Can. 9mm can travel farther than you think. My duty weapon is a Glock .45 ACP with 13 round mags. My ammo is Winchester 230 grain hollow points "Black Talons" but not black. When I have fired my weapon(s) "Off Duty" I have always thought where is this bullet going and am I on target... If you miss and hit something else or someone near or far away.. YOU OWN IT!! Meaning that you will loose more than you think... I would yell out to the idoit that you have a gun... That may make them run and keep you from taking another life... Oh .. And keep you out of prison. I think everyone has the right to protect there property and there familys as thet see fit... Just dont think its the wild west..

Wow!! How do some of these puke theives get such large bikes and rails away from camp? Sand is very quit but damn how do they do it..? I guess being a worthless dumb azz punk, you dont think of what if i get caught.. Did you ever get it back..? Careful with the firearm... what if thats a Law Enforcement agent or something... I know what your saying... It sucks that its come to these kind of securty measures..

Its going to be a great Halloween weekend, But dont forget to lock up yout things and the BIKES!!! I sure there will be a little less people this year enjoying the dunes but you can count on THIEVES being out in the crouds.. Just a reminder to keep an eye on your sutff and lock up that Bike/Quad that you worked so hard for... Every night when we are done riding I put the quads back on the trailer than run a thick cable through the frames and lock it up with a giant pad lock... Its a hassle but their still around... As for catching a thief in the act .. If you are so lucky.. Remember you can restrain them to the best of your abilities until law enforcement arrive... Just my

I know I have seen some pix of trips from way back when... But I dont know if there was an official topic on it... If not... Who has pix of trips with ther family and/or friends of desert trips or Dune trips from the past.. I did see some Dumont pix here once from the early 70's ... That was cool.. I wish I could find the pictures of the days when my family would make weekend Desert/Mountain dirt bike trips from the 60's and the 70's... I remember El Mirage trips when I was 3 years old and up... Those were good times. So who is hiding the old pix from way back when... Lets see them!

Thats good that your getting ready to fix up your Banshee..!! Put up pix of the top end if you can ... I would like to know what may of caused you bike to quit.. My Banshee has been good so far since the rebuild 2 years ago... Its a 89 Shee with a Paul Turner top end w/ The Paul Turner Mid pipes. The Carbs are after market, The top end has a Cool Head W/ a Power Radiator, The rest is just exterior billet stuff.... I run it 32:1 with Yamaha Lube... The fuel is 91 Octane pump gas... Was your Bike on the stock side? Good Luck.. P.S. Post if you need some other parts.. I still have some top end stuff laying around..

Thats terrible... I hate to see that any time... I have responded to a few crashes like that one before.. It is so unfair to loose your life like that... Lets all take an extra second while were duning around this season... keep a look out for others and keep it safe around the camping areas...

Do you have a few things packed up just incase you have to evacuate the area ? Get some things you really need/want ready if the :shit_fan: you and your family can just go!! Those pix look like the fire is moving pretty good...

Man that SUCKS.... That happened to us 3 years ago... My kid blew up his 250 the first morning at dumont than my daughter was towed back to camp about the same time because she didnt know to shift the quad she was riding " Yamaha Warrior" so she blew that motor BIG TIME!! That afternoon I blew the top end on my Banshee doing a couple laps up comp hill ... Sucked.. May be its just the top end on your Banshee... If so its an easy fix. Some times if the bike just keeps taking a :poop: all the time its time to just dump the bike. Good luck !!!

I was thinking about all the places I have been able to ride over the years... It really shocked :ah: me that I have been able to do some really great rides with some friends over the years... As some of you know We live in the Big Bear Lake area in California... The riding here in the mountains is just awsome during the spring and summer.... During the Fall and Winter its the Dunes and the Desert. About 10 years ago I was introduced to a enduro club by a couple if my riding friends... It was the Big Bear Trailriders... I went to a couple of meetings and meet up with some other desert/Mountain riders... Check them out www.bigbeartrailriders.com Check out the Bar 10 run they do every year... Its to the north rim of the Grand Canyon from Mesquite, Nv... Over the past 10 years we have done the Mojave road run from Barstow, ca along the Mojave Desert to Baker for fuel and food that back down soda dry lake bed to the Avi Casino in Laughlin, Nv for the weekend than we ride a different way across the desert back to Barstow... Another ride I have been able to do a couple of times is the Colorado 1000... That has been the most beautiful and relaxing rides ever... It starts at the end of August.. We leave home on a Friday around 4am... Drive the 40 to Flagstaff, Az than up along the 4 corners to Dolaris, Co. There we met up with 60+ other riders... The ride goes for 8-10 days along the rockys from town to town... We go as far as Crested Butte, Co / Aspen, Co for 3 Days than its back down in to Lake City, Co to Silverton to Dolores,Co... Get the truck loaded up than drive home.. There has been a few other rides that were also a blast... I need to dig up some pictures ... Their unreal!! I guess I feel lucky to be able have done some really fun rides over the years... Now My family is really into the Dunes!! So... Who else has had some places that they really have enjoyed riding in the past? Let's hear about it....
-
It was .... My kid watched it than turned it to something else... Those riders were squids.... Leave the dunes for those who know how to have a good time!! LOL!!
-
Last year was not as bad as the year before... Im thinking this year will be even less people than usual.. That means more room to Dune!!!
-
I like the twist Throttle on my Banshee... The thunb throttle really gets old. After a few hours of riding your thumb is dead!! I have had a couple of close calls with the twist... Just get use to it and it will become an easyer ride.. :black:

I put a set of "Tribalwhips" Lighted whips on my kids quads a few years ago... I think it was called Tribalwhips... There web site is on" www.PolesandHolders.com site "..... Try them out. They were not priced bad and I can spot the kids at night pretty good...

Looks like maybe a DUI driver... Notice the bottle in the first picture by the corvette... That sucks.. But its a dealer... They can deal with it!!

I was in Barstow yesterday for the Dmv so I stopped by the Blm and bought a couple of passes for the fam and some friends.. $40.00 each .. The lady I was dealing with said that they are going to have people out there selling tickets. I didnt know if the stores in Baker will have any more when we come out...
