Okay - my last response on this thread - how in the world did I miss a pet thread after all the time I spend on here???? Anyway, we usually bring the dog food in a zip lock bag with a couple 12 or 16 oz cups - the red ones from Costco. But, we got some samples of dog food and used them for our last trip. Perfect size - one bag for 2 dogs. The countainer you have looks pretty sufficient. You can always get something more fancy from Walmart or Target???

I hate when people let their dogs wander around loose. Last Pres Day, we had these retrievers come over from the camp adjacent to ours and pee on all our tires! Really peeved me!

I don't know where you live, but Hap-E-Dog in Henderson (Green Valley and Eastern) usually has those in stock. Flea Bags at the District might have them, too.

We crate our dogs, when we're out riding and no one's around or sometimes when we're partying at night. They're border collies, so they're REALLY HYPER! And Bear HATES fireworks, so he's always all EMO at night in Dumont. At first dogs sometimes resist the crate and whine. After a while, they get used to it. Our friends brought their beagle to the house. We made them go outside and not listen to the puppy howl and whine. He stopped after 5 minutes. I like the plastic crates with the metal doors and little metal windows on the upper sides. They wash nicely and are sturdy. We used to compete and travel in flyball tournaments with the dogs and those crates seem to hold up nicely. See Monkey in his crate:

Like the one in the picture I posted with the ghost flames???? Or a plain black one??? Parker Yamaha doesn't have any in yet.
-
My husband has waited to get the Rhino with fuel injection. The cup holders are a cool extra, too! We're not buying one yet! Just looking for now!!!
-
Anyone ever go to this? My hubby was thinking about going, since we couldn't go to the sand expo in California.
-
We took a look online at yamaha at their new Rhinos. Love the new Midnight Armor color with the ghost flames!!! The blue is cool, too.

We always dump there. We get our water from home, though. And I still drink bottled water because the water from Vegas is gross!! We dumped in Baker the Monday after Halloween and it was really stinky!!! Had to be from everyone else at Dumont dumping there after the holiday weekend! Gross! They sell Dumont passes at Valero, too. I couldn't get a yearly pass, but they told me to save my pass and receipt for credit towards the pass.

We're the cool ones with the hoodies! Just kidding!! Hey, California Casuals sells holiday hoodies. I got one for Halloween! I told Mark we should have got you one, instead of the shirt. Didn't think about that until later - sorry! Are you going for New Years??? We haven't camped with you at the Dunes since we got the toy hauler. By the way, my picture in my avatar is me on one of those big dunes on the left! Mark had me drop down the backside of Banshee for a scary ride! Too bad you weren't there to narrate, when I got stuck on a razor!!! LOL!!! We have to make plans soon to either come up to your place or have you guys travel south to us!!!

I can only hope we can go - all depends on my hubby's work schedule. We might only be able to swing a day trip. Last year we went for the day with a bunch of friends. We made a day camp behind old Vendor Row. It was so dusty, it sucked! That was the day I decided that we better get a toyhauler! So, within 2 weeks we upgraded to a Dodge 2500 Diesel and 2 months after that, we got our TH! Since then, we've made friends and got other friends to get their own TH's, so we have a dune family! Very cool!!

Here are some pics of our dog Monkey on Halloween. I laughed so hard when I saw this costume because it's so fitting for him - always in trouble, often for peeing!!! I got my husband that cone to wear in Dunont but our friend wore it instead! I think it looks best on Monkey!!!

We had a great time at Dumont Halloween weekend. This was the 1st time we did Halloween and it was a blast! Here are some pics from our weekend:

That's super funny. I'm so glad they got caught. We always leave the camp in better shape than it was when we arrived! On Monday I picked up some trash from a firepit behind our camp area. All I have to say is: WHOEVER CAMPED NEAR BATHROOM #6 BEFORE HALLOWEEN AND LEFT ALL THAT TRASH IS DISGUSTING!!!! I picked up a bunch of water bottles & soda cans that were just left there. The worst thing I discovered was the dirty diaper. How gross is that??? I was in dry heeves after I discovered that!!! Also: IF YOUR DOG POOPS, THROW IT AWAY!!! I've seen many a person just bury it in the sand - GROSS!!

NEW VENDOR ROW - LOVE IT!!! We must have gone there at least twice or more times a day! Got some Christmas shopping done! The new location is awesome! It is dusty. Some speed limit signs and a water truck would surely help.

the positive things from your Halloween trip

1st time riding in a rail - very fun and crazy, too! Dressing up our dogs in costumes for Halloween (although they didn't enjoy it as much) Going for a ride early Monday morning with hardly anyone riding Having a BIG A$$ circle of trailers!!! Getting a new Dodge Flag for our truck and parading around camp with all Fords The new Vendor Row - great for Christmas shopping! Very fun weekend - can't wait to go back! -
I agree about the kid thing. We camp with kids (not our own kids - we don't have any). Some of us don't have a problem telling the kids at our camp to SLOW DOWN and stop acting stupid. It's one of those pet peeves I have mainly because I'd hate to see them or someone else get hurt!

You're a dork! I started reading this and thought, "I can't believe he is posting this on a forum." Furthermore, your wife works with you AND I laughed at the thought of her doing this! I was going to yell downstairs to Mark to come up and read this, until I read the last sentence. Oh wait, I'm still going to yell at Mark to read this, so he can see what kind of dorky friends we really have! Too bad you didn't make it to Dumont. There was a TON of firewood and hoodies there!!! We missed you guys for Halloween weekend. The fire isn't the same without you! Mark got you a Halloween shirt, so you can act like you were there with us!

Just a BIG BLUE COORS LIGHT flag!!! Maybe even a blue light on top!

Hey guys! For those of you who aren't going to be riding next Sunday, Heaven Can Wait is putting on their 7th annual Lose a Pound with Your Hound dog walkathon. It's October 21st at Bunker Park in the NW side of town (off Tenaya & Alexander). Registration is a 9 am and the walk starts at 10 am. There will be music, games, prizes and Metro PD is supposed to do a K9 demonstration. The money raised for the walk goes toward their programs to spay/neuter and rescue dogs & cats. I've volunteered for many organizations, but HCW is a really good group of people with a great cause! To register or for more details go to www.hcws.org Hope to see you there!!!

We bring out dogs with us. They're one of the reason why we got a toy hauler - so we didn't have to board them all the time!!! Ours live the good life INSIDE our trailer. They travel with us in the backseat of the truck wherever we go (but they are our kids)!!! We're taking a trip to OC this weekend and staying at a hotel that allows dogs - we're nuts!!! Here's my 2 cents on loose dogs.... People need to keep their dogs under control. Last year on Prez Day weekend, the dogs from the camp next to us would come over and pee on all our tires. I don't get why people can't have their dogs on leash or at the very least, contained somehow in their own camp!!!

That's scary! The sad thing is that people notice if you have nice stuff (quads, boats, trailers) and try to break in! That always worries me. We live in a gated community, but that doesn't stop people! Last year these bozos moved in across the street from us. We met them and learned that the house was a vacation home for them - paid cash - must be nice. Anyway, they were smart enough to leave the boxes from their big screen TV's on the curb, among all the other evidence from their Costco trip. After they left, these kids on our street had this huge party. I was worried that the bozos across the street might be ahuge target, if any of these kids were trouble. The house looked and was completely empty. So, my hubby put my car in the driveway overnight. When they heard what we did, they had the nerve to accuse us of ruining their driveway with a set of tire marks (WHAT???). IDIOTS!!!

I'll have to take pics the next time we're at the storage unit. thanks!
