OGP talk with peeweethepinstriper, they buy 70's to pull apart and sell. Those dang seat pans are like gold, they are not very easy to come by.

P Pete have you already determined what would be a modified vs unlimited?
-
Lol jorge you ready for another regatta?
-
I will let you know tonight Cole, he is supposed to call me when he gets home.
-
It is fun regardless, it is even more fun watching grown people ride these in a race and over shoot turns and fly over the burms. :atc:
-
Skinner, those are inner circle tricks, you cannot give that intel away like that. lol
-
Cole I might be able to get you a set, let me check. I know I mailed Woody a set after he borrowed yours. I called my buddy and he is going to check his parts box, but he believes he has a spare set.

This topic ends up the same way on every forum that it is asked on lol All comes down to opinion and preference!
-
If it is only a pin hole, I would image that you can have someone weld it up, if the bottom of the tank is going to call out, then that may be another story.

I have had run Sand Skate II's Sand Sharks Sand Stars Gekos Haulers 7pdl reg buff, super lights Hauler 6pdl Gliders Edges (v grove) My opinion they can all be duned, but depending on your riding style and opinion/preference, will determine what tire you like. What I noticed going from a v grove to a straight paddle, is that while in a turn if you hit the throttle, it tends to lighten the front end, which changes the turning ablity. You can combat this with your body, but just tire for tire, the v grove corners better. Straight paddles will out accelerate a v grove, but tend to slide out more when side hilling like you want to do in my opinion, but of course you can get over this using yoru body. Also a smaller diameter tire is punchy and a taller tire has more top end and more flex in the side wall. Take Pete up on his offer or anyone else that will let you run a set of their paddles before buying and make sure what you want. There is a good amount of resource on here for paddles to try and it can save you a ton of money vs buying the wrong ones.

You can use muriatic acid to clean the tank and then buy the Kreem tank sealer to coat it after that. I did the acid, but did not leave it in long enough, only a few hours and it did a ton. I think Pete and some others left it in for a couple days and had even better results.

Post up a list and I will see if I can track the parts down for you.

This is going to be mostly an opinion thread IMO, but to me if you 90% dune, I would stick with a V grove paddle, but I would ditch the sand stars and go with Skat Trak Edge's. The V grove is better for turning while the straight blade tires are better for straight line acceleration. I also would not go bigger than a 21" tire and probably would stick with 20's for duning, they just accelerate faster, then taller tires. You can help increase the traction a little with 20's buy going to an 8" rim and allowing a little more sidewall flex (not a lot). I know others are going to say they dune on straights and prefer them, but v groves are still a better cornering tire. See if you can try a set of straights and see what you think, probably try different tire size and paddle count if you can.

I need to find out what he would charge to paint a bare metal tank or would it be better to use the tank that is already painted red and just paint over it. Buddy has a small blasting cabinet so it is easy to strip it.

We will try to show up early Friday and help
-
Pete Do you know if Ken can color match to the fenders? If so last seasons cleanest 70 winner wants his tank repainted lol.
-
That is a pretty cool idea!!
-
You will have fun either way pete and your right, they are mainly to have fun on (unless you have two) lol
-
careful on central, alot of wrong info gets passed there, mixed in with good info.
-
Brian what 125 do you run, the GPX?
-
I was hoping that I would luck out and find a nicely priced bottom end , but not looking good. Worse case I have a motor sitting in a cabinet that I can take apart.
-
Go on YFZTECH.COM and Ebay to look for a good used full system
-
Mine is fine, just if I can find a good bottom end and dont have to take apart a running motor, then I would like to go that route.
-
Like it says, I just want the bottom end, not the jug up. It needs to have a good tranny and the covers.
