009 manual or Vac. Distributor whats better
bp-guy replied to dunecruzer661's topic in Sandrail Talk
I have run nothing but the 009 in all my sandcars with a VW motor in it. I have never had an issue with a flatspot on acceleration. Keeping Dual Carbs synched is another ballgame in and of itself though. My 2276 in a 4 seat Chenowith would hang pretty well in the drags against other 2 seat VW powered rails. It was geared low and I left in 2nd gear. That thing was very fast off the line. I guess its all in preference for a distributor. Just my 2 cents on it. -
Some of the guys from my work will be doing that run. If you see the Patrol running by say Hi to them for me.

A better picture might help out the response. Get a close up of where the shock is actually mounted to the frame.

Watch the whole thing. Pretty amazing and the guy has big brass balls for doing it. You can skip ahead to the 45 second mark, thats where it really begins anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=RobaJKGMMiE

I take out the media card and put it into my computer. I then drag and drop into a file where I want it. I open windows movie maker and import that file there then make all my edits as well as add music. If you are going to upload onto youtube it has to be under 10 minutes long. And some music might be muted by youtube after you have loaded it.

I don't think he would have been happy in one of those things. Yesterday I took him in and had him put down. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. I held his head on my lap as the doctor administered the shot through an IV. I wanted me to be the last thing he saw as his eyes closed. The whole thing went fast and I was very greatful for that. I was allowed all the time I needed with him after to say goodbye. I removed his collar and left him for the last time on the table. His collar is now on my rearview mirror in my truck which will be my reminder of the goodtimes we had together. Thanks for all the support and input from all of you. It definately helped me through this. Here is one of the last pictures I took of him as we spent the day together.

Pete- Good job on that crash! Its hard staying in the eyepiece instead of wanting to look up and watch it as it happens.

Here are a few pics I found of Dune.

We have had our dog (Dune) for just over 11 years now. He is a Chow/German Shepard mix. We got him from the pound as a pup and he has been the best pet since day 1. His hips are in bad shape and he falls at times and has a hard time getting back up. His attitude is still great and thats the part that keeps me wanting him around even though I know he is in pain. I have an appointment on Friday to take him in. I want to be there when they do the procedure but I know I will be a wreck at that time. But I feel I owe it to him for being such a good dog to be the last thing he see's before he goes to sleep. Am I the only one that feels this strongly about a pet? He is family and letting a family memeber go is so hard to do. I will post up some pics of him in a while. Just typing this has me all screwed up so I am taking a break for a bit.

I think you can buy a standard lense kit for under $20 from go-pro. I haven't seen one used yet either. I might buy one and try it out.

If you have ever doubted swithing over to 2 6volt batteries try and pick one of these bad boys up. They weigh a ton! They are made to be drained and recharged over and over again. Do the swap and you'll be glad you did.

The 009 has springs that open under higher rpm thus allowing the timing to adjust. I have always run the 009 with my vw powered rails and never had a problem. The vacuum assist might be ok for a stock motor but who cares about mileage in the sand anyways? Ditch the points and condensor and run an electronic ignition if the budget allows. You can get a pertronix set up for under $100. Stick that in the 009 and be good to go. FE135- Not trying to talk your post down in any way. -

The 009 is way better. And what type if pressure regulator are you installing? That single carb won't need that much fuel so make sure your only running about 3-5 psi max for pressure. -
Here you go Tim-- Scroll down to page 3. http://www2.dometicusa.com/pdf/825122400%20MOFO%200309.pdf

I watch it here in San Diego when I am getting ready for work. 3am its on here. I understand what they stand for but don't see how one ship can do any good against 3-5 whaling ships.

Verizon will give you one month early credit each year. So a 2 year contract you can go in for a phone at 22 months.

Ok, first of all you have been warned! What you will see will scar you for life. There was alot of alcohol being consumed in my garage that night. But it was a blast none the less. And for those of you who have met Tony you will understand what you are about to see (if you choose to click on the link below) Do you really want to see it?????? ok....

Definately sounds like a linkage issue. I sounds like the linkage isn't allowing the bar to push in fully into the trans. Since both gears are at the top of the shift pattern, I would try to move the entire shifter box towards the trans about 1/2 if you have that amount of movement in the box. If not see if the shift rod has a threaded piece at the end of the shaft by the trans and make that longer and see if your now getting 1st and 3rd.

Thanks all- Turning 40 SUCKS!!! I know its just a number but DAMN 40! Not sure on the plans for tonight- probably dinner with the wife and kids. Saturday I am having a big party here. Catered by a mexican restaurant that I like. Beer and alcohol will be flowin', Followed by a big card tournament in my back yard and rock band on the WII in the living room. I am off from today until sunday so it's a little vacation for me. I will try to post up some pics if I am not too drunk that night.

Looks good Pete, Simple but looks like that's what it needed there in the first place. What about that forward link? (The bar rubbing against the tire) Did it bend back straight or did you replace that one as well?

Well apparently our camp sux at starting fires. We went through 5 gallons of gas and a can of BBQ starter fluid before we had ignition. Wet wood and hard wood can be stubborn but is was fun none the less. After it was started we never let it go out all weekend!!

Fresh water can be dumped, it has no ill effects on the earth. Anything other than freah water would be considered waste (sewage) and needs to be treated before being released into the ocean or where it would go from that point.
