I got my truck yesterday and I LOVE IT!!! 59k on the odometer. This thing has every option on it, I think it makes coffee too lol, but I don't have the owners manual to figure out all the gadgets it had available. Saturday I am going to Superstition for a day ride and I get to see how it tows up the mountains.

You have no idea how much doesn't make the news. Mainly because it's just because we are doing our job. I for one am glad most of it doesn't get on TV but some of it needs to be just to make the general public more aware of whats happening. Just because Mexico is our neighbor to the south doesn't mean we are only encountering mexican people. I have personally caught chinese,yugoslavian(sp?) and many from way down south, ie salavdorian. Middle Easterners pay BIG dollars to get smuggled in from Mexico. I love this job but at times it is very frustrating to see how bad we are getting beat out there.

There already is a tank trap style vehicle barrier along the highway. It is very long and goes along the freeway just to the south of it. A fence is out of the question due to the terrian (my belief) Its a no win situation for us. People will continue to go south and get pulled over by the Patrol then whine about it. But as soon as they get a ticket or have something that involves them DIRECTLY then they will complain that the law was no where to be found!!! Ragdoll I am not meaning all this towards you in anyway, I want this as a generalization towards all.

I don't see it like that, They are stating that they will be stopping all individuals they see entering the United States from Mexico. I have gone into Mexico in my rail but only a half mile or so and came right back. I was approached by the Patrol out there and I told him who I was and we went on our way. But for those of you that haven't been out there, That desert is huge and they have a big piece of land to patrol so keeping clear will help them immensly. I doubt they will seize your ride or fine you but be aware it is in their power to do either! Alot of bad things come from down south and due to our success in other parts of the state it is forcing them to try in more desolate places.

You can put a small solar trickle charger on the batteries as well. We have them on our work trucks and they seem to do very well on trucks that sit for extended periods of time. I doubt they will charge a dead battery but will help keep a good battery charge when it is not in use when out on a ride.

My brother in law sells these locks. I will see how much they are so if you have a specific model in mind send me a message and I will get you a price.

Could you imagine if we got High with all the pot we seize? :beer_bang: I got a load vehicle with about 800lbs in it 2 weeks ago..

I almost went with those on my car, glad I saved my money and trans at the same time. Granted I have only 300ish horsepower but I would be very upset to blow a tranny rather than having a cv go BOOM!

I guess about 2850 lbs minus driver.

And what do you think happened to all that beer they kept? I am sure it was disposed of in an appropriate manner...

I checked the weather reports and it says upper 50's low 60's during the day and into the low 30's at night. Does it really feel that cold or is it like in Vegas when its 115 it only feels like 95 or so. Just trying to get info on what to pack for the kids.

Pete- I am off Thursday till Tuesday. We might head out early Friday morning and stay till Monday. I lost my cell phone over Thanksgiving so I don't have your number. call me and let me know where your camping and I would love to hang out with you guys again!!!
