Thanks Kristin!! We'll take you up on that fo sho!! Ooops, spelled your name wrong...fixed it!!
-
I knew I could count on you!! You too!! That's a GOOD idea, I wasn't there last year so I have no idea how crazy that'll get. Sounds like there's gonna be a HUGE turn out tho, just from this site alone!! 8:00 to 11:00 doesn't sound like a whole lot of time to sign-up, gather the garbage, log it, and get the raffle tickets to everyone who's earned them. I posted a question to Vicki about the tickets, if she doesn't reply to the post I'll pm her. My idea was to have some tickets at each of our drop sites to hand out as the trash comes in. I how FODD will feel about that. We shall see. :surrender:

I know, I know, such a good hubby you are!! Don't forget the labels and if you have any clipboards hanging around we can "borrow".

I was just rereading the topic about the cleanup and "how it works". Cole volunteered his 4x4 and trailer for a group attack. I know Mike (PinzEOD) did the same and he and Davey already decided he's gonna be out by the S. pole. Others also offered, minurbiz I believe, and a couple more. I liked your idea on some other places to park. Anyone wanna volunteer for the N. pole? A 4x4 could get there the back way. Definately need someone out at Comp hill! The little dunes is another good place, but for some reason I have noticed there is not as much trash out that way. We go there just to play, so maybe it's worse near the camping area?? I know lots of folks just planning on being there to clean up trash, and at the raffle too! Let's hear it guys and gals, who's in??

Dumont Cleanup Details- how it works...
dinicolady replied to dunefreak's topic in Dumont Happenings
Vicki, We are trying to get a few designated drop off spots to make it more convenient for peeps to unload the trash and head out for more. We will have a person stationed at each one to "log them in". My question has to do with the raffle tickets. Is it at all possible to have some tickets at each station to hand out as the bags are brought in?? Then there wouldn't be that last minute rush to get everyone's raffle tickets to them in time for the drawings to start. Obviously, we would turn in any 'unclaimed' tickets with the log sheet. Or any other ideas?? Thanks in advance Kelly -
As the topic states, cleanup week is fast approaching!! We need to get an idea of how many people are willing to offer the use of their truck and/or flatbed trailer for use as a trash drop-off point. (We will then figure out where to park everyone and who will man the sites.) I think we need to spread out a bit so that it is easier for everyone to get to and from to drop off trash bags. A quad, 2-wheeler, etc., can only carry so much. At each site, someone will mark the bags for DDR and jot down the screename for the raffle ticket. So who is in??

5th annual FoDD Dumont Dunes clean-up & 2nd annual DDR Dune Trip
dinicolady replied to dunefreak's topic in Dumont Happenings
Sorry Pete, didn't mean to refresh a bad memory. Can't blame ya for that, completely understandable! Besides, you're gonna have a new toy to play with, so relax, we're lining up the help for ya! Now as to keeping count of the DDR bags, that is why we are trying to organize drop-off point(s). Make it easier for everyone to turn in bags and get their credit for raffle tickets. As Tiff put it: Let Kelly, Jackie and me take care of this part of cleanup. I'm sure we can handle it -- chicks are good at that stuff!! -
YOU said it, not ME!!! And you have no clue how hard it was to restrain myself from going there. Pondered over it many minutes, believe me!!

ME TOO!! Yeah Tiffany, the labels and sharpies we'll need! I'll bring some too because hopefully we'll need 100's of labels for the bags-o-trash, and some folks may want to try the 'name tag' thing again, LOL! I'm gonna try and track down a couple of clipboards, too. Ya know, something to pin the labels down with and make writing easier. I'll have a spiral notebook on hand for tally sheets. I believe, but could be wrong on this, the trash bags are being furnished by F.O.D.D.?? And YES, we need to 1st find out how many trucks/flatbeds we'll have for drop points. Cole, you still in for that?? Pete, maybe your truck, too? Mike (pinz) is planning on heading to the S. pole area, TONS of trash blows out that way. We need one at comp hill for sure, and maybe 1 or 2 more (the little dunes??) to make it convenient for peeps to drop bags and run out for more. We'll definately hook up on Friday to get organized since 8:00 a.m. Sat will come quick enuff as it is. Everything needs to be in place by then! -
And now for the burning question on everyone's mind, well at least mine anyway.............. What flag you gonna be flyin' on that new toy of yours?!? Something custom like this: Your screename, of course, or you goin' incognito with something more generic??

I hear another................ DUH!! coming out! Gee, thanks for the reminder. The last time IT was in our parts room, the guy literally sat there for 2½ hours scratching his head. Had to come back the next day with backup and they BOTH stood around scratching their....... ummm, never mind. P.S. Enjoy your vacation!!!! I'll save someone the trouble.....here goes:

Ummmm, you quoted the WRONG person on that one. It was my hubby, dinicolada that attended the meeting and posted that reply to you, not me. It was he that explained to me that CA's green sticker $$ goes to a GENERAL fund, not directly to a Dumont Dunes fund. It's divied up dude, all over CA. The funds from OHV stickers we purchase here in NV also goes into the same general fund. On a positive note, interesting link you posted. Amazes me how much interest in this sport has grown over the years!

Well, I guess we could 1st figure out how much interest there is in a potluck. I dunno how to do a poll, but any interested peeps should post up and we could go from there!! OR maybe Pete could post up a poll thread in Dumont Happenings?? I'd be willing to help get it organized if there is enough interest. -
Ya know, them SPYDERS can be sneaky little critters, never know where they may be lurking!!

Hey Jill, are you in kahoots with barefoot bob?!? Hubby had to come see what the hell I was laughing about!! GREAT stuff, I wonder how far this is gonna go.... ~~~On the 3rd page now, guess that answers that ? ~~~~~~

OR: DDR Bachelor/ette of the month!!

 Actually, they're my daughter's feet, and yes, both are still intact. Can't say that about the chew toy though, looooong gone!!
-
:freakin_nuts: I only went there because it just so happened that DUNESMURF admired the color in the first place, LOL, I probably wouldn't have thought of it otherwise. Besides, blue happens to be a favorite color of mine. (Damn, sounds like I'm kissin' a$$ now)
-
Thank You Bert, I was like.....uhhhh, I was joking about a RIDE, let alone driving it!! :freakin_nuts: If I owned a rail, I highly doubt I would let anyone drive it!! Hell, I don't like letting my sister drive my Burb!!
-
Hmmmm, I guess this would NOT be a good time to ask for a ride then!!
-
And that would sure look a heck of a lot better than a gin-n-tonic logo! :freakin_nuts:
-
 See, told ya, always a good chuckle here on DDR.com!! :no_no:
-
Yes, I do believe that has been discussed around here before. My hubby even offered to furnish the little-ol'-orange vests for safety reasons! Perhaps we should get a new thread going on that one?!?
-
Excuse me Mr. Cheese, just a friendly little FYI...not ALL smokers do that. We are very responsible with our butts, they are either thrown into the fire or disposed of with the rest of our trash. Hell, we even pack them back to camp when we are out riding!! B) Thank you, thank you VERY much!! Nicely stated.
