  2. I got to ride in it sat evening.. and that thing aint no slouch... i had to get a pry bar to help get my fat a$$ outta the seats since the power just WEDGED me in em...
  3. Just by general physics if he wasnt on the throttle at all... he would have barreled down the hill... since he kept his foot in it... its kinda like the same principle as a 2 wheeler... when in doubt THROTTLE OUT..

  8. I just need a steering stabalizer... I can feel the ruts and the headshake is just nuts when i start getting into those sections where you can tell 100's of people have trenched it up...
  9. If he rides at 2000+ feet and drops to sea level theoretically he would need a richer setting meaning hes running lean... DAMMIT i gotta think before i type.. i was thinking the other way around till i started typing this... CRAP baberrt is right again...

I know at the top of the WR426 and YZ426 a couple fellas participated in posting thier elevation mods and jetting specs... didnt know if maybe there was something similar in the quad section... just by reading that stuff there is how i came to the conclusion my jetting was pretty darn close and the problem lied else where.. damn fuel mix screw... I also would recommend one of those for the kehien FCR-01 and 02 carbs.. the zip-ty easy adjust fuel screw... makes a world of diffrence when fine tuning your carb..

  13. I will have to agree... a nice windstorm to smooth things out cuz it was gettin a WEEEEEEE bit ruff out there... my front end was dancin thru the ruts head was shakin like there was no tomorrow...
  14. just do some reading... i know thumper talk in some of thier forums have a little jetting database thing... that will get you pretty close... you are probably too rich... if i had to guess..
  15. not to common on a 4 stroke but i spose anything is possible... best to find out what elevation your at in barstow first and then we can go from there... You also might want to look into a jetting kit like JD or possibly hit up thumpertalk.com there is a particular forum for the yfz450 quad and im sure there are a few bright individuals in there to help you out with your jetting woes..
  16. Glad you found the forum... Please refrain from using all caps when posting it ensinuates that your YELLING at everyone.. Where did you buy your bike from? What elevation do you usually ride when the bike feels like it has the most power?? Typically the higher you go elevation wise the leaner you need to make your bike... BUT if you ride the deserts and what not of vegas and surrounding areas at over 2000 feet then drop down to dumont at sea level its possible that your getting TOO RICH... its hard to tell without physically hearing or seeing how the bike reacts... and any other information about it... but im willing to bet its just a jetting thing and isnt tht complicated to cure..
  17. actually the 450 you got is a pretty damn stout performer in the dune... there is a fella on here that would be able to point you in the right direction.. you might want to look in the atv/motorcycle talk section of this board..

  22. well obviously but i didnt realize it was THAT wide though i mean its only a v-6 i wouldnt imagine it to be any wider than a VW motor
  23. That stinks... what has to be modded w/ the trailing arms?? is the motor really THAT wide they wouldnt clear..
