When you leave Baker take Kellbaker Rd. south about 37 miles then turn right onto Kelso Dunes Rd. and go about 2 miles and you're there. with a helmet and without a helmet.
-
If anyone says anything you can say you are there trying to count lizards and beetles and weeds.
-
Thank you Sierra Club and CBD and the rest of the tree huggers.

I glad you brought that up because you have been proving all along how uneducated you are. You obviously don't have a clue.

The point is that wearing a helmet in a sandrail is not going to make it any safer. There were more people killed or injured in automobiles today alone in this country than people were injured in sandrail related instances all last year. There probably were some injuries that could have been prevented if those in their street cars were wearing helmets. There is a certain amount of risk in everything you do. The definition of safely is to do something without risk so that means you can't really do anything safely.

Did anyone get pictures?

The whole point here is that wearing a helmet in a buggy is unnecessary. I suppose the next step is to outlaw bikes and quads because you can't wear a seatbelt or do we just put roll cages around them all and add seatbelts. And next thing your going to say is that everybody should wear chest protectors and arm and leg guards and neck donuts. People need to stop playing the what if game. I'm not naive I'm realistic. You don't pay my medical bills or any other of my bills for that matter and you never will. Again you need to worry about your own and let other people be. I'm sure your life is not perfect and until it is you have no right to tell anyone else how to live. THERE I'M DONE!

untilThis has got to be one of the biggest weekends at Dumont Dunes. Four days of duning, eating and partying. Make your plans now because it will be here before you know it!
-
I should be going out Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. And if all goes well you guys will be saying "Hey, who's that idiot parked in our spot? Oh it's Don in his new truck and trailer." I am keeping my fingers crossed.

A rollcage on a sandrail SHOULD NOT be close enough to you head to be hitting it with your seat belt on. I am presuming the interior of a race car is pretty tight. That would justify the extra padding. Sandrails in general are not put to the extremes of a desert car or most other RACING type vehicles. And I still am calling :yeah_whatever: on the 10 second street legal '99 Camaro. 600hp isn't enough to do mid 10s in that big of a car. IT'S NOT POSSIBLE in a street legal vehicle.

California helmet laws apply to motorcycles and quads not sandrails. Motorcycles and quads don't have seatbelts or a cage to protect the passengers.Back to my original point of you take care of yours and I'll take care of mine. The injuries from people not wearing a helmet in a sandrail is EXTREMELY minimal. And most of the people that can afford a sandrail and all the necessary equipment that goes with that can afford and do have health insurance. Even if I didn't have insurance and got injured and sent to the hospital they wouldn't be sending the bill to your house. YOU DON"T PAY MY BILLS. If you are paying someone elses bills then you are generous or STUPID to say the least. If you are going to argue that your taxes pay for that then you need to get educated on how things really work. If you want to complain about people that take advantage of free health care that is paid for by tax money then look at the welfare system and all the border jumpers out there that are taking your money. I am willing to say that you can't name on incident where someone was injured because they weren't wearing a helmet in a sandrail that is being paid for by you personally or by taxpayer money. It's not like people are getting injured everyday in this case but there are border jumpers that are breeding and have their worthless mongrels in this country everyday without paying one cent for the health care they receive and continue to be paid by your precious taxes in the form of welfare for them and their families. Bottomline here is if you are going to use tax paid health care as an argument you are completely wrong! It's a non argumnent.

Well then anyone in your family that is under 21 should wear a helmet in a buggy but nothing gives you the right to say ANYTHING about the concerns of mine. And there again a helmet doesn't do a thing for anybody in a cage. Oh I mean a buggy. Next thing you're going to tell me is that we need to wear a helmet in our cars in case we get into an accident. And where do you get this 21 age? In the United States people are adults at 18 years old. Man, What the hell is wrong with you?

You didn't listen to what they said about the speed of the cars. The speed of a car has many variables. The Tom Pro cars are very nice cars. You won't go wrong with a king sand car or a Short Sand car. I've heard some very bad thing about the Sonic sand cars. some of the higher end Busa cars are also using a reverse gear box now.

If that's not 1/8 mile times I'm calling BS. And I don't care what you say I'm calling BS on a 10 second stock internal 99 street legal Camaro. NO EFFIN WAY! I also would like to see pictures of your buggy?

WRONG!!!!!! You have to show receipts. California is a royal pain in the A$$ if you don't have the proper paperwork. If you buy a car from a state that has no titles you will need to have a good bill of sale. Then you go to the DMV and pay all your fees. Then they give you papers and you make an appointment with your local CHP. You take the car to their lot and they run any Identification numbers they find on the vehicle to check for stolen parts and what not. If everything is OKAY they will assign the vehicle a new V.I.N. and send you back to the DMV where they then give you a registration and a green sticker. Shortly after that they will send you a new pink slip in the mail. I don't know how it is in other states but I do know how it goes in California. Been there. Done that.

:yeah_whatever: Here we go. just the subject I was looking for. I'm calling on this whole subject. This is supposed to be a free country and every day the moral minority that think they know what is best for me think they have the right to tell me what to do. They need to take care of their own house before they start throwing stones at others. This helmet in a sandrail thing is not a safety issue it's a control issue. If your seatbelts are adjusted properly and in proper working order you shouldn't be able to hit your head on anything in the car. And if some moron wants to use the "What if the car rolls over or what if you're in an accident?" excuse, here's my answer to that. What if you walk outside your house and a bus jumps the curb and runs you over? What if your walking down the street and some gang bangers decide to do a drive by? What if you slip and fall on a banana peel and crack your head on the ground? What if people would just mind their own buisness and just worry about their ownselves and their own families. Here's the deal. If you want to pay my bills and expenses then you can tell me what to do but until then just SHUT UP. If you want to wear a helmet I think that's good for you but let me make my own choice. I seem to remember an incident that happened not to long ago where someone rolled a car with 2 small children in the back seat. Nobody got hurt and nobody was wearing a helmet. And another thing I get sick of hearing is "Well if he was wearing a -------- (fill in the blank with whatever piece of safety equipment) that wouldn't have happened." Well guess what something else would have happened. The point I'm trying to make is don't worry about what you don't have control over and take care of what you do. This is the sole opinion of the author of this post and is in no way intended to provoke or offend anyone. And if you are offended you really should think about getting a life.

I got the new truck the day before Halloween. This truck is a Beast. Fully loaded with all sorts of options. I just filled up the gas tank today and checked the mileage. 11.7 miles per gallon after 360 miles. My 1/2 ton 4X4 only got about 12 to 13 mpg so needless to say I'm happy with that.

Next time we should set up camp so it spells out DDR.
-
Observations 1) DDR camp is getting bigger and bigger. 2) Potlucks will make you FAT! (mmmmmmmmm cake) 3) Cold showers SUCK! 4) We need some MY NAME IS name tags. 5) Veterans Day weekend can't get here soon enough.
-
What do you know? Where I'm buying the truck there is a gas station right next door for sale.
-
CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?
-
Leaving for Dumont in 16 hours!
-
It's got 52K miles. The plan is to get a hauler. I got approved for the financing but still have to work out a few details. i know the gas mileage will suck but it can't be any worse than what I already am getting with the motorhome. My motorhome only gets about 7mpg anyway and it is a diesel. Not a very good diesel.

We both know I'm training to be a cage fighter.
