more wastefull spending
Foxysandchick replied to barefoot bob's topic in Dumont Regulations, Safety & BLM
If you are that passionate about the issue then why aren't you taking the time to address your concerns with the appropriate agency instead of ranting on a forum which isn't going to achieve anything...you don't like something then do something about it or at least make an appropriate effort! You're wasting your time and effort posting it here, this isn't going to change anything...they might decide to be out there on every big weekend, then what are you going to do?? How far you willing to push them out there to stand up for what you think is right and wrong?? (This isn't directed to anyone specific ) -
Congrats on the new to you hauler...what model did you get??

LVCVA is looking for a Building Engineer
Foxysandchick replied to Foxysandchick's topic in Employment
David...that $20.54/hr isn't perfect for him... They are also looking for a Director of ITD, a Programmer Analyst and a Contracts Administrator...but I figured we had more "fix it" type of people than "nerdy business" kind of people .... It's a county job part of the NVPERS system...great benefits.... -

If it is going to be the same as vehicle purchases....private party purchases/sales do not pay sales tax upon registration...so write up a private party bill of sale. -

**$1000 REWARD**LOST/STOLEN CHIHUAHUA MIX @ DUMONT
Foxysandchick replied to Jared Peterson's topic in Lost & Found or Stolen
I am so happy you got him back...I couldn't imagine losing either of my pups...truly an amazing story!! Just a couple suggestions for people who take dogs to the dunes...a collar with ID tags that include your area code as people come to Dumont from many states..microchips are very helpful in getting lost dogs returned... If you tie your dog out you should still keep an eye on them and it's better to use a harness than a collar as many will slip the collar if frightened, then they won't have their ID tags on them when they get lost/found...don't let them out of your sight especially at night, blinking lights attached to the collar are very helpful at night, lighted or reflective collars are also good. -
Rob, I like that perspective on that video ^^ good place to mount the Go-Pro.

That would be me ...I'm Kristin...you are welcome, glad you all weren't hurt. It's never a good feeling to come over a dune and see a rail like that especially when you know who it is.
-
Problem is your group wasn't being safe or avoiding other riders... I almost got run over on my quad by the trucks in your group and the rzr following me came close to rolling to avoid your group....right after your group cut through our line of rails ahead of me! We were on on the high side coming across the face of the dune/razor when your group transitioned over the dune ahead of us and came straight towards us instead of going a little lower (or any other direction) to avoid us and allow us to keep moving...I had to stop on the dune, but was sliding sideways down the dune towards your line until my quad finally sunk enough to stop, if those trucks were any closer I could have reached out and touched them! We couldn't go over the dune, couldn't turn down and couldn't continue forward simply because your group came straight for us when they had plenty of room to go any other direction or even just 5ft lower on the side hill to avoid us as we were already 1/2 way across the dune with no place to go...If I or the rzr behind me would have rolled or slide any further we would have been run over by your group, that is how close those trucks came, that is not avoiding other riders or being safe... I'm not even going to go into the nonsense you all pulled when our group was leaving Comp and heading into the dunes...

LVCVA is hiring for Security Officer....though you don't have enough experience, they have hired people with less experience before, so it's worth checking into and giving it a try..worst that can happen is they say no, right... http://www.lvcva.com.../employment.jsp Security Officer - 532 - 195.doc

The gas has broken down the adhesive of the carpet and made the area very soft and brittle....still smells like gas, but will give it a couple days to dry and air out.
