  1. We had not been back to Little Sahara in 7 years. My first experience there wasn't the best, but I am so happy we finally made a return trip.. because this weekend was EPIC! No other words can describe it other then EPIC! The group we camped with, I had never met before. And being a newcomer in many a different camp, I have to admit, I was nervous about feeling left out, not being part of the "inside stories", being ignored at the campfire and looked at like an outsider, as I have many times camping with new groups. These guys were awesome! They welcomed us in like we had always camped with them. And those guys know how to have fun in the dunes and at the campfire! I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! We fully appreciated the hospitality that they showed us. This trip would not have been the same without that awesome group of people. Each and everyone of them. We finally made it to the backside of the dunes!! And they were freaking incredible! The statement of the weekend was "There is so much sand here" The Ace did really good, even made it into some of the big stuff in the back and halfway up the big hill going back over to the front side, thankfully there was a halfway cut off I could go over, but had to be careful to crawl over some sharp rocks at the top. Having local's to show you around the dunes, priceless... going out on your own and finding something none of them had seen, even more priceless... and THAT shows you just how huge this place is. 5 days and we still did not see it all! Mike's new H-Town Long Travel Kit was amazing! The guys wanted to go on a fast as he!! run through the big dunes on the backside, knowing I wouldn't be able to keep up or get up some of those big steep dunes, I dropped a Dramamine and a couple shots of Mike's smooth apple pie moonshine and went ahead, sucked it up and rode in the shotgun seat for day 2 sunset run. That long travel made such a difference, I felt comfortable enough I went out with him the next day too. It sucked up the jumps so nice and made the transitions smooth. Campfire antics included all of those things and more! Dance off's with bad a$$ girls who know how to dance, Oatmeal Cookie Shots, the best homemade Apple Pie Moonshine I have ever had and lap dances! Great conversations and tons of laughs! Incredible sunsets, gorgeous fields of wildflowers, spectacular back drops, deer crossing your path, red tail hawks taking flight, dunes, dunes and more dunes, stormy weather all around made for some bomb a$$ photos. We ran out of the dunes being chased by several differant thunder storms , but surprisingly it only rained in camp twice, for short periods of time making the weather damn near perfect. As I previously stated, all of the above, made this an EPIC weekend! Pics to follow...
  2. That cage was STUUUUPID! Dale as always did an incredible job!
  3. If anyone is interested we will be heading to Coral Pink for the Father's Day weekend. Headed out Thursday June 18, about 6:00 pm ish and returning Sunday June 21. Can't wait to get back up there!
  4. I have been slowly accessorizing the Ace up.. I am almost finished. I think doors will be my last upgrade, unless someone comes out with a better suspension system (my only complaint on the functionality of the Ace in the sand) I have had H-Town make me a cage, 30 in combo light bar and a couple sm lights up front. I added a Pro Armor suspension seat, Pro Armor 5 point harness, NRG steering wheel with an NRG quick release, which makes it easier for me to reach the steering wheel and a couple of bags for coolers, coats and with the H-Town cage, a bag over my head for cell phone accessibility. That H-Town Cage makes me feel way safer and looks way better! IMO A couple before photos: Now for all the upgrades and bling!
  5. Made it such a nice ride through the dunes I even enjoyed riding shotgun through the big dunes at Little Sahara!
  6. Yes but a shorter version. I will actually be on the same section where she ended her trek. Starting at Timberline Lodge in Oregon and going the 50 miles to Bridge of the Gods. Thank you! I started training and trying out dehydrating my own food and meals.
  7. GTP is moving!!! We are officially moving the shop to a new space. We will be in the same complex just in a front facing suite on North 5th st. Our move will take place in a couple weeks. In the mean time, it's business as usual. New address will be 3630 North 5th, #100 here in Las Vegas Come on down and check out the new place! We should be all set up in the new shop around May 15th, but we will be ordering more product to fill it up. Right now we can hold about 5 RZR's in the shop for service and the new place should more double the amount we can get in for your service needs. Thank you to all our customers who have made this possible. We look forward to assisting you even better for your off road, ATV and UTV needs!
  8. Started training yesterday with my full backpack for my July PCT trip. Its still snowy up on the mountain!
  9. Was that a herd of deer??? That's BAD a$$!!!!
  10. Those Chinese "Alien" lanterns really get to me.. they seem to be released several at a time... they don't always burn up, and even if the paper part burns up the metal piece still has to go some place.. and where does it go? Down to the ground to lay in the dunes or outlaying areas to be trash in the desert... After picking up several of these during clean up and even posting a photo of what happens when they land, it just frustrates me. I wish people would think about that before they light those things off.
  11. Well there is always Coral Pink!! For the summer dunes. I always plan a big trip for the summer, since I am going to miss out on St Anthony's again this year with no room for me... I am going to check a big one off my bucket list... I am going to spend 3 nights and 4 days and 50 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail up in Oregon. Going from Timberline Lodge to Bridge of the Gods. My dream is to do the entire trail from Mexican border to Canadian border, but I will have to do it in sections. This will be my first section! I will pass snow capped mountains, mountain lakes, and tons of rainforest type waterfalls, including one called tunnel falls that you actually hike behind. Doing this for my birthday, I will turn 45 on the trail. And I get to see my family and friends up in Washington state. Some of the things I will see... (none of which are my photos)
  12. We spent the morning giving back to the place we love to play, by taking the time out of our busy scedule to participate in clean up day at Dumont Sand Dunes. The dunes needed it! It was sad to see so few out there participating. But those that were there did a great job. There was still some trash left, but with so few it would be difficult it get it all. We managed to fill one dumpster half way. All kinds of trash, water bottles, beer cans, ice bags, and those damn Chinese lantern aliens! They are pretty in the sky, but they have to land sometime! In one area there were 8 left over "alien" carcasses! But we did our job, by cleaning up what others left behind! We hope to sponser the event next year, get more interest in cleaning up our dunes, with raffles, give away items and maybe a lunch. Like it used to be. I think there might have been about 10 - 15 camps total.
  13. I called the BLM Barstow office today and the lady who answered the phone stated "if there is a clean up, then it would be free of charge"
  14. So who is all planning on coming out for the Clean Up?
  15. Looks like we will be out Thursday night. Hopefully there is a decent turn out for the clean up, even without raffle prizes and free lunch! Clean up should be about cleaning up the dunes, so they don't get closed. After president's weekend I went around and picked up some items, but it could really use a good cleaning!
  16. Looks like we will be camping down by the br #3 area. Arriving Thursday night.
  17. I know at this time we plan to be out there for the clean up, not sure where we will be camped.
  18. I have regretted selling two toys... #1 my modified Joyner buggy.. it was so so much fun! I could take it anyplace... sand, trails, rock climbing.. and #2 my Honda 450r.. which was received in trade and cash for my Joyner... I could ride hard with that girl, and could toss her all over the dunes, I was so comfortable on her, she was light and nimble... but a pain to kick start.. It hurt to watch her leave. I thought a bigger bike was what I needed to keep up with my group. But her replacement was to heavy and I had a hard time maneuvering it. I could no longer slide through the dunes and toss it over the razors. I just wasn't comfortable on the bigger bike. But I am loving the replacement for that bike, my Ace.
  19. Thank you Lee! I love it when you play with my photos! The Ace and RZR photo, my phone has an HDR setting for the camera. It was so nice having you ca,p with us! Hope we see you out there again
