Ohhhh... I beg to differ with you... I have permanent yearly reservations for the big dunes section of Dumont for the Christmas holiday You better double check your reservations... I bet they are for the LITTLE DUNES section of Dumont!

Mike and I will be heading out Tuesday night 12/23 and staying for our traditional Christmas Dumont trip, returning Sunday 12/28. Love Dumont for Christmas!!!

BLM was on it this weekend with watering down vendor row! Two thumbs up BLM! Two thumbs up! Vendor Row was a bit slower this year compared to last. We had a lot of Black Friday sales in anticipation of the shoppers like we had last year, but it was just slower then last year, but a steady day. Mike worked on the Sheriff's sand car until late on Thanksgiving night, and our great friends surprised us by bringing over some Thanksgiving dinner! Thank you guys, it was so appreciated!! Especially since Thanksgiving is all about friends, family and being thankful! We will be back out on Vendor Row for President's Weekend, so until then Mike and I will be looking forward to some off weekend ride time!

We will be out there without transport vehicles this trip, so no camp visiting for us Feel free to stop by our campfire and visit with us

Isn't Veterans Day supposed to be a "Free Weekend"?

This weekend was awesome! It was like the old days when Mike would come home on a Thursday or Friday night and say, lets head out to Dumont, last minute off weekend trip! Just us! Mike picked up a new to him sand rail on Thursday afternoon, so of course there was no way it was going to sit in the garage over the weekend!! It was also nice to be out there enjoying and playing in the sand and not busy busy busy working Vendor Row. The weather was perfect, well except the wind that rocked the hauler all night last night and was still grooming the dunes this morning. Shorts and Tee's during the day and sweatshirts and jackets next to the fire. The dunes definitely needed to be groomed, they were pretty tore up still. Camp was pretty empty, but several large groups out there tearing up some sand and having a blast. Some pics from the weekend... WTF?? :saywha: These guys were just walking around out there in their sparkly weird outfits... no camera crew... so not a movie, commercial or photo shoot! Pups enjoyed not being on lock down. Checking things out... New rail action shots... No dune trip is complete without a great view as the sun goes down... And of course a campfire! A campfire is a MUST! And to top off an awesome weekend playing in the sandbox... on my bucket list has been to capture via photograph a coyote in the wild... I love these guys and the sounds they make...

Keep your safety gear up to date! If it's old or not functioning, fitting properly it can't do it's job and does you no good! Several Christmas' back my son and a really good friend were in a sand car accident, the harnesses were so old that the driver's frayed apart on impact from years of sitting in the sun. Had I known or looked closer I would have never let my son in that car. Thankfully my son's harness held together and he ONLY shattered his ankle and received a contusion to his head.The driver survived, but his head hit the frame and he will never be the same. I just got a new helmet myself, I was way over due, I believe you are supposed to replace every three years.

Our trip was busy... busy.. busy!! But in our world that is a GREAT thing! The wind on Saturday was just a little dune grooming... I blame @@fastony but on the other hand I thank fastony, because we ran out of goggles We went out early and got in a couple of rides Weds and Thursday before we got all set up! We were very thankful for Beefy Boys because at the end of the long days, trying to cook dinner was near impossible! All the trick or treaters were super cute! We ended up handing out some candy on both nights. We went to go camp hopping and visiting on Friday night, stopped at one camp, then headed out to comp for about 20 mins and we were just too exhausted to make anymore stops, after a full day of a steady stream of people coming through. We have kind of come to the conclusion that after working all day, we may just need to stay at our camp and have peeps come visit us Saturday night we had planned to go visiting the camps we missed on Friday, but a mad search for truck keys kept us in camp. We found them in the strangest of places and in the strangest of ways.... thankfully We did get a small campfire and visitor's on Thursday night And as soon as I figure out how to get photo's uploaded to my new to me Mac laptop I will get the few pics I took up here to share

I just sent an email direct to Polaris, asking about if there is a defect or a recall as there have been several fires reported regarding the RZR 1000... lets see if they respond...

We did see flight for life heli come in twice. We saw the smoke from the fire as well... one of our friends was right behind the razor when it caught on fire... leave those gas cans out of the back!! No reason to even carry them at dumont (IMO) unless you are bringing gas to revive a vehicle out of gas, but don't carry them in the back!! Happy to hear everyone was ok!

The ice cream short bus has arrived as well. That just might round out the Vendors.. But some late arrivals might pop in in the morning.

They had some questions on some parts they had sent to them and yes no flag = ticket I was going to say something but thought better of it
