Your live action Vendor Row Report brought to you by GTP Off Road... Currently on Vendor Row we have; GTP Off Road Don the Flag Guy and California Casuals and a production film crew right in the middle
-
Yes I just created the poll for so we could decide which night we would be hand out candy on vendor row. There is definitely nothing "official" about it We wanted to take one night to go visiting and camp hopping to see our friends since after working all day, then by the time we would be done handing out candy to trick or treaters, we would be to tired to go visiting So Friday we visit and Saturday we hand out candy Heading out tonight! Come on 6:00!!!

Not sure which report you are reading???? But all the ones I have read don't say anything but high's in the 70's!!! http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=-116.23506&lat=35.70349#.VE7K4iLF8l8

Verizon lately has pretty much sucked as well.. I don't think anything works reliably any more..

Just got our new vending trailer back from 5150 Wraps! So come by and check it, say hello and see what we have to offer this year on vendor's row!

For trick or treating, most people just camp hop, going to the camps that are decorated for Halloween. Some of the camps really get into it. Make sure to stop and trick or treat down Vendor Row, we will be having treats at the GTP Off Road booth on Saturday evening. Most start just before sunset and continue on until about 8:00ish. As where to camp.. its pretty open. Some people like to be farther away from the dunes, because there seems to be less dust, some people like to camp closer to the dunes because they don't want to drive that far. It does get a bit soft up there though. Its a pretty big space, so just pull up where you are comfortable and enjoy the fun And Welcome to DDR!!!

Yep it looks like there will be Trick or Treating BOTH nights!!! With the majority being on Saturday night! Can't let those California kiddos down!!!! They will have more camps to trick or treat at

I figured that I just didn't know if there was some special event going on.... you know how I get easily confused...

The big dune party on Sat night?? Been going to Dumont for Halloween since 2006 and it's always been trick or treating on Saturday. I know some people like to gather at comp on the holiday weekends, but that has never interfered with the kiddos trick or treating. Sounds like we will be handing out candy both Friday and Saturday nights this year... Better bring extra candy... Don't want to run out for the kiddos that don't arrive until Friday night!

As far as I know, California doesn't have Friday off, that is my concern, that the Cali peeps have to come out Friday have work, set up and then try to get the kiddies trick or treating...

One of my coworkers asked me about this today. She had seen it on the news. It is a terrible loss and tragedy, to lose someone so young. At 22, he was younger then my son. So if you can all maybe take into consideration that the persons dealing with this loss, are very young adults. Not only are they dealing with a great tragedy of losing a close friend or family member, but they are dealing with it at very young ages... The lashing out and anger that these young guys have shown is very normal in the grieving process... I don't know Justin, nor his friend's that have come on here, so this is nothing personal to me... just asking to maybe step into these young guys shoes a little. When someone is ready, maybe they will come on here and give a better understanding of what happened.. my thoughts again go out to Justin's family and friends.. This is the quick story that my coworker saw, its about the candle light vigil that was held in Justin's memory. http://www.jrn.com/ktnv/news/Family-friends-remember-young-man-killed-in-ATV-crash-278380681.html

Kick Off Weekend and Day Trip - Trip Report - 10/3-5/14

Thank you @@fastony for pulling over to make sure we were ok on the way home. The dog water bowl was the only item we lost out of the compartment. It was nice and very much appreciated to have someone pull over just to make sure we were ok -
Traditionally the tick or treating is on Saturday night. But since Halloween is actually on Friday night this year.. I was wondering what night people were planning on taking their little ones trick or treating? Nevada day is 10/31 this year, so I know the kiddies have no school on Friday, but if you are from Cali or else where, the kiddies may not have that day off... Just wondering which night to bring out the candy

We will be there October 28 - November 2. getting some play time in before the vending begins. Make sure to come by and check out GTP Off Road's new vending trailer and set up and we will have even more products this year then last. We will be vending Friday - Sunday for certain and possibly Thursday. Of course we will be handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters as well! I will most definitely be putting a "cheat meal" in the bank for Beefy Boys biscuits and gravy for breakfast one of those mornings! MMMMM.....

I thought I heard a helicopter in the wee morning hours, I was hoping I was wrong or one just flew over the area, but it woke me up, got up didn't see anything.. Didn't hear anything today. Very sad Thoughts go out to family and friends.

Rolled out Friday evening just in time for a spectacular dune sunset!! Yes it was HOT!!! But those of us that have sand in the veins could not wait for cooler temps and headed out to get our sand junkie fix this weekend! Entrance road was better this year at this time than last year at this time... still a mess.. I still think if we have to have a pass Oct 1st, the road should be smoothed out by Oct 1st Not a ranger in site all weekend though. Sand was SMOOOOOTH!!! Not too many peaks, razors and weirdness, that was nice, it felt a bit like mid season off weekend dunes. Cards Against Humanity and Bud's Balls Rees and Tracy's Carne night DELISH as always! Thank you guys for all the work you put into the feast, it is greatly appreciated! All in all it was a great weekend, with great friends! Some photo's of the weekend, didn't take too many this time around, too much fun going on

Great times in the sand!!! The dunes were silly smooth and gorgeous! Not too many shelves! Some cell phone teaser pics. On our way home. -
Hurry up Friday!!!! I don't care if its going to be toasty, any weekend at the dunes is better then no weekend at the dunes And the first weekend back in Dumont is always the best weekend!
-
Mike and I are planning for the Oct 3-5 weekend as long as its not still summer temps. If not that weekend, then we will shoot for Oct 17-19th.. I am going sand withdrawal CRAZY!!!
