  1. Heading out in a couple of hours. And we also plan to track every dune possible from today until Tuesday evening... Mike's birthday is Monday, so we plan on making extra tracks on Monday, cause the rest of the week will be all work and no play.
  2. NOW we are talking! Add a spa to that casino for after ride recuperations!
  3. The road has been like this for years, we all know this. Its not THAT hard to slow the down. If you don't like the road, don't come out to play, go someplace else that has pavement all the way up to the dunes, so you can just unload on the nice pretty pavement and then go out into the dusty dirty terrible sand and get your pretty toys all dirty and dusty while you are having a blast. Maybe they will have some washing stations installed too, so that those people who get too dusty playing in the sand can wash down all their pretty toys. The dunes have trash left enough as it is with people who actually use the dunes and supposedly care about using the dunes. Can you imagine how much more trash there would be if the road was paved? Or how much of a fight we would have on keeping the dunes open, because people in their Prius' are all upset that after driving all that way on that pretty paved road, to see the pristine sand dunes, pay their fee to get in and all they find is a bunch of quads, rails and rzr's polluting the air and tearing up and making tracks all over the poor defenseless sand dunes? Hey while we are at it... maybe we should have them pave the whole camp area, put in full hook ups, flush toilets, and showers.... hmmm I think the average RV Park costs about $60.00 a NIGHT.. I could be wrong on that though...I don't spend much time in RV Parks, I like to go off road and dune...
  4. GTP Off Road will be out on Vendor Row. We are hoping to make a week out of it and head out Sunday or Monday. Monday is Mike's birthday, so it would be nice to have a couple of days of play before the work fun begins
  5. Infared! The Big Easy. Its the best, in my opinion, unless of course it's in a smoker! Pete you are more then welcome to try ours if you make it out.
  6. GTP Off Road will be out on Vendor's Row. We are hoping to make a week out of it though and head out on Sunday or Monday, if not then Weds for sure.
  7. Aweee YES!!!! A weekend of playtime, instead of vending time! What a great weekend! After two weekends in a row of vending, it was a nice break to have an actual play only weekend. We took Mike's youngest out with his 250 and he rode it like a little pro! It was awesome to have him out duning it and tearing up the big dunes. And catching some mad 9 year old air Where we had camped there was a ton of trash left over from someone else, and Mike's youngest took out a bag and picked up all the trash, a whole white garbage bag packed full, he said he wanted to clean up, so he could ride the dunes for lotsa years. Great to know that a 9 year old gets it, when obviously some camp of adults didn't After breakfast every day was a morning "Justin Ride" We had a great mix in camp with tons of laughs and campfire antics. The dunes were finally starting to get the good lines back. They were both smooth and torn up. The morning rides were the smoothest, but by afternoon they were pretty tracked out. Camp area was pretty empty, much less than last weekend. It was pretty much off weekendish. Road was good going it. I even got an afternoon nap one of the days Mike led one fast a$$ adrenaline sunset run to the North Pole Some pics from the weekend, including a couple random people playing on the top of comp, couldn't resist the sunset silhouette pics and one rail had the perfect spot to sit and watch the little bit of comp action, on one of those shelves to the right side of comp.
  8. Thank you! Sounds delish!!! I am going to have to give that a shot!
  9. Great pics Lisa! It was great finally meeting you and seeing Kayla again. That seafood boil sounds delish! What all did you put into it? I have been wanting to do one of those for a while. Happy Anniversary to you guys!
  10. Make soup outta them!! http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2008/10/day-299.html?m=1 You can add some hot peppers like serranos to this to give it an extra spice kick. And exchange the sugar for real maple syrup, to make it "paleo" and it adds some flavor... Would make good dune food on those chilly dumont evenings
  11. Thank you. Yes Banshee Hill on Thursday evening. I was off to the North taking in the sunset, while you all were playing on the hill, had my camera so I couldn't help but take a couple of shots of the play time. Looked like you guys were having a blast!
  12. Well we headed back out for the "official Halloween weekend" It was most definitely quieter then the non-official weekend. BLM stopped by our vendor set up on Saturday afternoon... yeah.. they know they made a mistake. He chatted with us quite a while, picking our brains, wanting to hear what we had to say about how things where going, what if any suggestions we had. We did mention, that we would like the water truck to hit Vendor Row, keep the dust down, the non official weekend was terribly dusty and all displayed items has to be cleaned before setting back up. 30 mins after he left us the water truck came through. It was nice that they listened to what we had to say... We got out Thurs afternoon. Set up, relaxed a little. I took off to watch the sunset go down just above banshee hill, had a lot to reflect on, it was quite a week for me, took a couple of shots of random peeps playing on the hill. Rolled back to camp just after sundown, made some dinner and had a little fire. Up Friday morning and went on a lone slow cruise, I know I know, save the don't go out by yourself lectures, I always take my phone, and Mike knows almost exactly what line I will be taking when I leave.. It was nice to do a solo run, stop when I want, take pictures. Sit on top of a dune and just take it all in. If I am not on a shot of adrenaline for breakfast run with Mike, I enjoy the slow morning cruise. Headed back to camp, made some breakfast and helped the guys finish setting up. It was a pretty slow day, so Adam and I took off for a short run, just before sunset. The lines seemed to be a little weird, didn't quite flow with the dunes in spots, I don't like to jump everything like Adam, so I just kept it slow. There are still some super weird stuff out there as well, so I was being extra cautious. Saturday was a little bit better of a day on Vendor Row... But I still had some time to go down the line and introduce myself, since we are the new kids on the block. Packed it up Saturday evening and headed home.. Some pics from the weekend...
  13. We saw the helicopter fly in shortly before we left. Its never a good sign... hopefully he recovers.
  14. So technically this coming weekend, according to the BLM Holiday Dumont Passes, is the "Offical Halloween Weekend" So I was wondering who will be heading out this weekend? I know there is already a thread about which weekend you are going, this one or last weekend. And if you are heading out this weekend, will you be trick or treating with your littlens on Saturday, even though Halloween was Thursday?
  15. I didn't see it, but my guess is they told you you could not set up a light for racing with out a permit? I believe that setting up a light to start a race even among friends would more than likely be viewed at as an official start of a race and draw a crowd, and or other racers. In which case it would become an event in which a permit was needed. But I could be completely wrong on that since I don't know the laws exactly, I am just giving my opinion and interpretation of what could have possibly happened...
  16. Oh and as we were leaving to head home, the sniffing dog was hard at work sniffing out people who were entering Dumont. There were about 6 or so people sitting around out of their vehicles while the dog did its job. So looks like another Halloween weekend with the dog.. since this week and next weekend are the "official" holiday...
  17. I had a busy weekend this weekend helping out at GTP Off Road's vendor area. I didn't even get one single ride it, let alone start my quad! But there was a steady flow of customers and people coming by all weekend. We did get to take an evening run to Comp Hill, on Saturday after the trick or treaters went away... ok, so after we ran out of two Sam's Club sized candy bags! Vendors Row is the place to trick or treat! It was pretty fun to walk and check out the craziness of Comp Hill on Halloween weekend Saturday night! There were even rows all the way up and on the finger dune. I haven't been out to comp hill on Halloween weekend for years! Even hung out with Miley Cirus for a little bit! Sunday was even a bit busy with people coming by to make their final purchases. One of the other new vendors out there was Grandpa's Ice Cream Shoppe! YummmmmmY! Well worth the wait. We had Banana Splits $4.50 with all the fixins! They will be back out for Thanksgiving! I will look forward to a relaxing Veteran's Day trip.. I am wiped out from working all weekend. Too busy to take many pics...
  18. LOL!! Love it! I loved the expression on the lady's face at 1:46 she has that I am getting the outta here look and casually turns to walk out.
  19. Looks like a great weekend in the sand. Awesome pics and report as always! I do that exact same sunset thing. Take off and find a great place to watch it go down and reflect on the day.
  20. I am already day dreaming about how I could pull this off.... I would have to clone myself .....
