  1. GTP Off Road made the trip down to Costa Mesa for the Super Sand Sports Show this year. Met NE14SAND in Victorville. He was our tour guide through the show and opened up his home to us for the night. Once we got to the show, we made sure to stop at all our suppliers booths that were at the show. Checking out what their newest product lines are looking like. Then we made our way through the show, stopping and chatting with some potential new suppliers and making new contacts. Break for lunch with some of the hugest corn dogs we have ever seen! Picked up some new riding shorts, I was over due for those! It looked like a pretty good turn out and a good variety of product lines and vendors. Exhausted from the show we headed back to Aaron's place for beers, campfire and grilled el pollo burritos. We can't thank him enough for the hospitality. One of the things we did notice was the lack of Dumont BLM. We had planned to pick up our passes at the show, but the Glamis BLM said they were not at the show this year. Most of the other areas were represented. Ocotillo Wells, Glamis, Idaho Dunes, Pismo... no Dumont, but that's ok, Dumont sucks anyway and all those other places are way better... Some pics from the show... I thought this was a great way to pass some of the drive time while the guys talked shop
  2. I miss Coral! My favorite place of all time to ride and relax. I can't believe I only made it there once this year But there is always next year! I love the sand when it rains up there, so fun to ride through a little storm!
  3. October is starting to creep up on us Just curious when are people are planning their first trip back to the beautiful sand box? I think we are shooting for the first weekend in October, depending on if it cools down enough. Can't wait to get back out to the dunes!
  4. It seems as though we are long long long overdue for a As The Sand Blows and since Barefoot Bob seems to have been kidnapped by aliens and transported to another planet. I thought I would give this a try... Hopefully no one gets offended Its all in fun SANDAWG has spent all summer rubbing it in and at all of us in the heat of summer, and he needs to change his name to LUCKYDAWG, because he landed every duners dream job as camp host at St Anthony dunes, especially when the temps hit a blistering 118 However it has made him docile this summer and hasn't been and challenged ynot to any wheelchair races this year RAP-RIDER is still continuing to about his FREE high performance piston that he won for having raptor of the month earlier in the year making his raptor ping and use too much race fuel, but has no problem posting pictures of himself flying through the air. ltr450rider brought back the 3 Word Game for some summer entertainment dunefreak began his sand withdrawals early this year by starting the post about Halloween weekend before we had even hit the 4th of July and when he is not out riding his dual sport, he's looking up articles about man's best friend Mike @GTP OFFROAD is the most impatient person in the world and wants to start hacking apart his after only 5 days of it being up for sale. The picture of the month happens every month at the end of every month, we all know its coming... It always gets hundreds of views, but only a couple of entry's and only a few votes... COME ONNNNN people post up some pics and get active, your looking.. it won't kill you.. promise The AB1595 SxS law thread is still going strong for over a year and has a couple of threads dedicated to it. The HOT thread of the summer so far has been one about LAPD Detectives with 26 posts and 386 views, with Huckfest playing a close second, and may surpass it due to the fact that apparently there were too many people having sand withdrawals this year and the organizers of the event hadn't planned for that many sand peeps to show up, it just stinks that the economy seems to be coming back and the event was a bigger success then they thought. OBSERVATION: We need more funny threads and runaway hijacked posts But is the complaining and whining and is down this summer. My think we need to see these smilies used more often -----> And I apparently am bored to no end at work and desperately need a new job I hope you have all enjoyed the Summer 2013 Edition of As The Sand Blows...
  5. I noticed some other stock RZR's went for just under this price!! Someone should have held out for a hell of a smoking deal on this fast one with the turbo!!! :saywha:
  6. As far as I know, the same rules apply off road as on road, when operating a vehicle such as a truck, you must have a valid drivers license or a permit and be accompanied by a licenced driver over the age of 18. But I could be completely wrong.. its happened a time or four.. Your best bet to get the correct information would be to either contact CHP or BLM. This way there are no doubts on what is correct.
  7. Hey I can't help that my rock climbing spidey shoes came in only green

  14. We hit the road at about 6:45pm Wednesday evening, bound for Coral Pink Sand Dunes in Utah. For some much needed R & R, as well as some product testing and photo and video shoots, what better way to test a product then to use it? Couple of gas stops, skipping the Cane Beds Rd and taking the long way around through Kanab, UT, put us in the meadows at about 12:30 am. Unload and relax after the long drive before hitting bed. Up early and on the trails.. Happy 4th of July!!! 1st stop ranger station for the proper tags. The ranger station at Coral Pink has a pretty cool set up. They have animals from the area, sands from around the world display, GPS geo-caching, and activities for the kiddies to earn a Coral Pink patch. One of our customers and our good friend had made the trek all the way from Hesperia, CA. So we wanted to make sure we showed him as much of this beautiful riding area as possible. We rode until the dunes became difficult to see and the stomachs were growling and jalapeno chicken nachos were on the lunch menu. After lunch, it was time for a 20 inch double row LED light bar install on a RZR XP. Little more resting and relaxing in camp after the install. We enjoy a brief afternoon rain and thunder shower. After everyone is rested, we hit the trails and dunes again for some runs and jumping action. I that new Rappy of mine!! And she flys really well! I got high enough once to scare myself pretty good, most air I have gotten yet! And the full on power at Coral Pink made my weekend one of the best yet! I even did a lot of leading this trip. We ride on until sunset and dinner time – campfire stories, ribs, corn on the cob followed by s’mores, and some of Mother Nature’s fireworks show of lightening, makes for a great 4th of July holiday. Day break brings another day of riding and some exploration of Indian pictographs. I did this hike trip last year, but one of the kids in our group wanted to check it out, so I did it again. Some jerk had taken a sharpie and drawn a bunch of on the pictographs. I just don't understand what makes someone want to go that far out of their way to ruin something that has been there for years that can't be replaced EFFin' jacka$$! hopefully after the investigation, the BLM will be able to get an expert in to remove the markings. There are many activities that can be found at Coral Pink. This place has a little bit of something for everyone, hiking, dino tracks, dirt trails, sand trails and of course the sand dunes. Back to camp for a break and lunch. We have another rain and thunder storm kick up – love riding in the rain at Coral Pink, great time to turn on those Zeus Whips and test out the light bars! Back to the ranger station to reload on ice this time. Return to camp, as the rain has set in, we have never seen it rain for so long in one day at Coral Pink before. But it didn’t damper the fun. Easy Up, fire in the fire pit, and tons of laughs. The rain does keep us from riding the rest of the evening, so early to bed. Another early rise on Saturday morning, our friends are making the long trek back to California today, so to make up for lost time yesterday, we ride hard as long as we can. Making sure to cover Coral Pink from the East border fence to West border fence of the dunes before they need to pack it up and head home, happy campers from a great weekend, with a new light bar installed on their RZR XP. Saturday evening looks like another storm brewing, but keeps to the Southeast, so we have perfect weather for a late evening sunset run and video/photo shoot. Back to camp for a late dinner and campfire before turning in early for packing it up the next morning. One last ride around the trails, load it up and head back to Las Vegas and back to work Monday morning. Perfect much needed sand fix! We are already looking forward to the next trip…. Pics to follow
  15. Here is a Google Earth 3D image of the fires current path of destruction...
  16. What a great weekend.. I will get a trip report and some pics up Weds evening
  17. We have ash all over our yard and cars this morning. So so sad. Our beautiful mountain burning up. Everything is closed, Kyle Canyon and Lee Canyon, on this side and I don't remember the names of the roads on the Pahrump side, going to the mountain. They don't estimate containment until July 19th. I am obviously keeping a close eye on it. I am postponing all my lead hikes until August.
