I agree, a little steep for a VW, YIKES! Nice to look at though, love the prowler cars.

I have mainly ran VW's in all of my buggies. There is a guy out here that builds them so I support his bussiness and any time I need something he has it which is a rare convenience out here. I run a 2332 cc engine and have never been stranded. I take this thing on 100 mile trail rides through the desert with out worry. Over the years I have learned to work on them and they are very simple and easy to maintain. If you want more than 200hp you would definately be better off with a modern engine. This is the reason for at least one of the VW cars you see out there.

lower price!

Ya, I remember the topic. I just wish the manufacturers would build them as a street legal vehicle. Maybe someday.
-
I couldn't agree more. When is some one gonna step up and make a street legal SxS?
-
If your car is mid engine it probably doesn't have a torsion housing to mount the irs arms to?
-
Looks like it will work as far as the geometry, not sure if the forks are ready for that much load though. Try it and see, most of us have a garage full of stuff that didn't work the first time.

First time I've seen it.

I miss my RZR S, versatility is the word. Its the only SXS that really dunes well in stock form, its almost a buggy. I'm thinking there may be another one in my future!

I used the .063 on the sides roof and hood, its plenty strong with a bead rolled in it.

Congrats, you will like it in the sand, best mod is the paddles and smoothies.
-
Nice, I loved those things! Congrats!

Shifter out of adjustment? Just a thought.

You still need about $150 in parts and someone that can weld!
-
Headed out in 1 hour, can't wait!

Same set I'm running, excellent performance on 2WD you will love them, congrats!
-
This will help, thanks!

It doesn't look like you are running 930 cv's, if those are type 2 cv's you probably don't want to exceed 20 degrees, while clearanced 930's are good for 26 or 28 max. You may have to take some travel out of the rear if you want to use your existing set up.

They build a quality car, and 5 seater with a stroker VW for 9 grand sounds like a good deal if its not hammered. Pics?

I don't think your charging problem is related to the converter. With the panel being wired to your fuse block I'm pretty sure it is disc when you turn off your battery disc. I would connect the positive lead from the panel directly to the positive side of the battery and see if that works.
-
There should be a charge controller for the panel, it will regulate the voltage and keep the panel from over charging the batts. With panel connected to the batts it won't read 21 volts, it wil be between 12 and 14.
-
Sounds like it might be wired in after the switch, it needs to be connected directly to the battery. Solar usually charges all the time regardless of weather or not the gen or shore power is on.

We are out here so will check it out tomorrow.
