Any other pics or weekend reports? From what I heard from everyone it was gorgeous warm weather out there and the dunes weren't too bad. We got sent these awesome aerial photos from @@thatblondetess Pretty badass! They flew over Dumont in a small plane. Looks like a great turnout this year. Much better than last year. Remember there were no races at all.

The BLM will have their Dumont Visitor Center Open all weekend with information about Dumont and it's surrounding areas. They will also have JR Ranger Activity Guides for kids 6-12 yrs old. There will be daily safety and wildlife programs at 11 AM and 2 PM. Something new this year is Meet the Medics Open House! At 4:30 on Feb 13th. There will be free coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks while you get a chance to meet the BLM staff that manages Dumont Dunes. Stop by the Dumont Dunes Visitor Center between 9-4:30 to see Park Ranger Art's wildlife display.

Sad news at Dumont today. From what I've been told, a UT man lost his life while racing up Banshee Hill on his Banshee. Some of you take the Blue Diamond/ Mt Potisi route from Vegas to Dumont. A stretch of that road leading up to Mt Potosi is scheduled to be widened beginning this month. This is a good thing as I have seen multiple fatal accidents where people try to pass on that two lane highway. So keep this in mind as you travel that direction to Dumont. Details for construction times and such are in the link below. They are starting this month and the project will be completed early 2017. Crowdog got some shots yesterday while some of the guys did some test n tune for the SxS Wars.

This camp sounds like fun. I think we can all agree there are some bad apples in the BLM or law enforcement in general. I have had my own bad experiences with them in the past, but I don't feel the department as a whole is out to harass duners unless they give them good reason to.

I'll know as it gets closer. I still have one off weekend trip to D to squeeze in before then.

I just realized you are talking about a trike. Lol thought you meant motorcycle. The same may apply though.
