500's typically run a 10 cup paddle. Even an 8 cup would work better but the 500 has the power to pull a 10.

Such a sad deal. You just never know who deals with mental illness. Poor guy.

LOL! oh damn. Shows the true strength of that chassis right there.

Couple RZRs that will be at the Sand Wars.

There was no voting. I decided it was an appropriate DPOM.

There will be an unofficial ATC70 regatta this year on March 19th at Pismo! PeeWee and the crew will be there. I'm thinking of trying to make the trip. Might just keep it simple and load the ATC and tent up in the truck and go. I've never been to Pismo. This might be a good excuse. Anyone else thinking about it?

FYI, the cleanup will be on Saturday, March 12th at 8:00 AM. Friends of El Mirage are stepping up this year to help the BLM with the cleanup. http://www.dumontduneriders.com/index.php/news/_/articles/14th-annual-dumont-dunes-cleanup-r68

It's the time of year to give back and take care of the amazing playground that mother nature offers to us, Dumont Dunes. Let's face it, some trash and things sometimes get left behind in fire pits or in camp when we go out to play in the sandbox. The annual cleanup is our chance to spend just a few hours of our day to make sure the dunes are free of trash. This year the Friends of El Mirage are stepping up to help the Barstow BLM with the cleanup. Usually Friends of Dumont Dunes are the ones who put it on, but over the last couple years lack of organization support has left the group without any active board members. So grab your sunglasses, gloves and friends and come out for a weekend or even just the day to help give back to Dumont. Lunch will be provided and all volunteers will receive a wristband which will get you in and out of Dumont for free that weekend. If you have any question email the contacts on the banner below, leave a comment here on our page or on the forum link provided. forum discussion: http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/index.php?showtopic=20562

Yeah but still cheaper than a whole motor which comes with the same sh*tty plastic gear. I'm sure Randog could whip one up but time is of the essence for me this week.
-
Ah damn it! I guess we should probably let each other know next time.

He bought it at the Sand Sports Super Show. He said he'd look for a company name on it.

Surprisingly no. Shows you how much I just wanted to yank that big b*tch out and GTFO of there. lol No time for pics.

That's what you though was great from this trip report?? LOL I'll have to ask Rick to post up. It was his jack.

It's a good chance it's the same one, but I believe this gear fits more than one model. My trailer is a Forest River Sandpiper with a Quick-Draw Power Safe EZ Lift system made by Lippert. If it's a HappiJac, they were bought out by Lippert and there's a good chance this gear will fit that unit as well. You can Google Lippert ez bed electric lift and you'll find this guy's posts on multiple forums including the one on GD. Check his ebay link out.It has more info... http://www.ebay.com/itm/281637406039?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

http://wreg.com/2016/01/26/teens-deaths-possibly-caused-by-deadly-new-trend-of-drinking-racing-fuel/ Unreal how stupid some kids can be. They are mixing RACE GAS with Mtn Dew and drinking it. They're naming it Dew Shine. There has been more than one reported death from it. WTF?

Over the past few trips, the motor on my rear bunk beds has been making noise. It's been clicking when I raise or lower them. Last trip it finally failed. Turns out the gear set is all metal except one little nylon gear that the motor drives. So dumb! You have to buy a complete motor assembly to fix it too. Well I found a guy on GD who had this happen to him so he decided to engineer a metal replacement gear. So if this happens to anyone else, this is the fix. This is the motor. Yep, the whole track has to come off. It's bolted on from the rear. The gear set Failed gear The replacement

I had my GPS running all weekend and although I knew we got a ton of duning in, I was shocked to see we duned almost 100 miles. 98.4 miles to be exact. We layed down some tracks that weekend!

Sunday was chill. Lou & Ben got another run in around 8 AM while the rest of us slept in. Later in the day we got some more duning in. It was so gorgeous out. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and it was a really nice temperature. Towards the end of the day we cruised up to memorial hill and visited our friend, Bert's, memorial. I made sure there was still a Pepsi up there and dropped off a cookie.

Saturday morning...time for some breakfast My car was running great but everyone was still concern or something. They were swarmed around it like a pit crew! ??? Duning on Saturday Lou got a little surprise on a razorback. Luckily he landed it without any issue. I couldn't believe my eyes. POOF ATC fun with Randog Sophie Came up on my buddy, Howard, out in the dunes. It was almost a close call. Photobombed by my shadow. Randog pulled sick wheelie and got me pumped up and laughing about it. Big group of side x sides passing by. Ben busted out his scales and we weighed the buggies. Randog, 1675 dentboy, 2450 edwatertoad, 1950 80grit, about 3K! This was the most shocking. 4 seat RZR, 1977 lbs! WOW that's awful. lol I spotted a huge group of people hiking up the dunes. ? More duning pics... Duning behind Randog. The sun was at a great angle. Cody tearing it up on his CR250 Hanging at the north pole. Duning on the way back. The moon was full and bright! The sky was awesome. So out came the tripod and camera. We watched Supercross on the big screen projected on dentboy's trailer. SX at the dunes is the best. At 2 AM the moon was straight up above us. There were no clouds left in the sky. We could see the dunes almost as clear as day. It was so bright we were tempted to go duning! dentboy spotted a log that looked like...big wood & balls. haha Chillen after Supercoss listening to tunes. I tried the old steel wool long exposure trick but the steel wool didn't want to burn. Better luck nest time.

I rolled into Dumont early Friday morning. The road is was in great shape. I always get super pumped when I see this pulling in. The place was pretty empty as expected. Lou B, Randog & edwatertoad were already there. Ben rolled in right behind me. I did a little ATC maintenance. The 5 of us plus Lindsay B on her quad went out for a morning cruise. The weather was gorgeous. There were some fighter jets flying way up high through the sky. There were various contrails and even some loud booms either from the sonic booms or maybe some testing out west. When we got back to camp 80grit & Rick (Highfly) had showed up. Later in the day we got ready for a dune run but thanks to Randog's keen eye he clued him in on a little issue before we went out. Rick swapped the tires to the correct direction. Lou B took the ATC for a rip. We headed out and stopped on the sunset lookout on the way back and hung out for a bit. Love empty weekends. Once we got back to camp, we all made some dinner while Sophie ate some firewood. Time to make the buggies glow!
