  12. We arrived at Dumont just after 5 am and it was a gorgeous 80 degrees. There were 4 buggies and 4 side x sides that made it out. As we unloaded we noticed a young man walking towards us from the south end of the cam area. He was out there alone sandboarding since 6PM the night before and was stuck in Hyundai Santa Fe. One of the guys lent him a hand and pulled him out with a truck. The wind blew nice and steady all morning and kept things cool. The dunes were super soft and sharp as expected for June. We were the only ones there except for one truck that came in for about an hour with one 4 seat Can Am Maverick. They went off and duned by themselves for about an hour; not something we'd recommend doing alone this time of year. We waited to make sure they made it back ok before we pulled out. We ended up staying there until about 11:30 am but at that hour the wind subsided some and it got hot really quick! It was 110° when we left. Overall it was a great day in the dunes with no mishaps and a great group of duners. We'll probably do another one this summer so stay posted here on DDR. more photos here, http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/index.php?showtopic=20184
  13. It was a great morning shredding those crazy smooth summer dunes. We had a couple close calls but no major mishaps. We got there just after 5 am and it was a gorgeous 80 degrees. The wind blew nice and steady all morning and kept things cool. We ended up staying there until about 11:30 am and then got the hell out. The wind subsided some and it got hot really quick! It was 110° when we left. My car did awesome as usual. It ran strong as hell and it even stayed under 190° all morning. Another successful Dune in June trip in the books! Thanks to dentboy for the shot. I'll get the rest up later once I go through them all. Pretty sure I got some good ones. Thanks to everyone who came out. Great meeting some new faces and duning with you all.
  14. If possible, park off to the right across from bathroom 10. That's where I told everyone to meet us. See you in the morning bright and early.
  15. No need to meet up first. Let's just meet out there across from bathroom 10 area at sunrise (5:20 ish). It's fairly hard packed there just in case someone doesn't have 4WD. The camp area gets really soft in summer. C-6 area
  16. It's hot but we don't care. A group of us are heading out and planning on getting to Dumont at sunrise on Sunday 6/14/2015. Experienced duners are welcome to join us. Conditions are always sketchy in the summertime so we always take it easy and roll together in a group. We usually dune for about 4 hours and then pack it up and get out of there before the 100+ temps roll in. If you are interested, we'll be meeting across from bathroom 10 at about 5:20-5:30. The sun comes up rather quickly so we always get to duning right away. Be sure you're ready. Summer is one of the best times to experience Dumont. The sand is never this smooth and steep during the season. Forum discussion is here so if you are in or have any questions, hit us up. http://www.dumontdun...=20168&p=251478
  17. Sweet, looks like we finally have a group. I'll be getting my car all ready tonight. I'll bring my 10x20 canopy so we have some shade in between duning.

  19. Ok this Sunday morning is a GO. We'll be arriving at Dumont sometime around sunrise or hopefully just before. Sunrise is 5:23 am.
  20. I know the owner of BikeBandit! lol
  21. It's only 1-2 degrees cooler on Saturday. It does look like it's going to be warm, but we won't be there during the middle of the day for that heat. Should be out of there by 11 AM. Chad and I are shooting for this Sunday. My part came in so I should be good to go. Just gotta round up a flatbed now.
  22. I have ordered a few things from KTM Twins, but they take forever to ship and they are pretty much retail+ on everything they sell. It depends what you need, but sometimes you can find it cheaper and faster from other places. I have a Giant Loop Coyote which is very similar to that bag. The one you posted looks nice. Eventually I'd like to get a side rack/ luggage system for big trips and leave it off for when I hit places like Nelson and day loops near town. The loop luggage is tough for carrying a tent. Maybe I need a smaller tent. haha Get a skidplate asap. Check out Flatland. http://flatlandracing.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=FR&Product_Code=24-46 Also this is a decent rack that you can carry a rotopax for extra fuel if you don't feel like dropping $1400 on a RR tank. lol http://www.nomadic-racks.com/store#!/KTM-690-Dual-Sport-rack-2008-present/p/26154096/category=976076
