  1. Thursday night the rain came down pretty good. We all tried to keep our seats dry. @@nwtdiesel showed up for a day trip after some technical difficulties, but he made it! We waited out the weather for a little bit. Lou B chopped wood. Then we said screw it. Let's dune! We stopped off at comp hill after a gooood long run through all of the dunes. We headed back to grab a bite to eat and see if anyone else showed up to get another run in with them. Glad we did. Painter Joe & dent boy showed up. We waited for them to get ready. The sun poked out for a minute which made for some cool looking dunes. Then off we went. We didn't make it very far when I heard a pretty bad noise in 3rd gear. Damn it. I pealed off and informed everyone I was done. painter joe checking on my situation I decided to putt back to camp in 2nd gear so everyone could finish the ride. A few guys followed me back to make sure I made it. Not needed but appreciated. Thank you, guys. cruising back After getting back to camp there were storms off in the distance but no rain at Dumont at the moment. Then a volcano erupted! Just kidding, but those clouds made it look like it. We chatted for a bit around the fire with Glenn and family. Then BAM, it started pouring! lol Those guys were still out in the dunes getting hammered with rain. hahaha That night the rain finally stopped. A good chunk of the rest of the crew arrived and we set up the party tent then enjoyed some campfire. That night, Sandy the whore elf made another appearance. We gave her a wooden turd and a "no oil" necklace. Don't ask. LOL
  2. Ok here come the pics. I've got alot so I'm going to split them up in multiple posts. Thursday morning...all to ourselves. Jordan showed up and we went duning. This was the only day the sand was dry and soft. The rain would come down heavy in the middle of the night on Thursday. The new big screen and wirelessly paired phone/ tablet setup worked out flawlessly for shows and movies. No, that's not a porno. It's "Just go with It" with Adam Sandler. That afternoon Anna and I headed up to the memorial hill to scout out a good spot to place our friend, sanddunesaddict's, memorial. The BLM included the memorial hill in the fencing project a couple years ago. It's a good thing so the memorials don't get run over or destroyed. There is a walk thru opening in the fencing so duners can hike up to the top. Other memorials Found a perfect spot and started clearing some rocks away for the foundation & plaque to be set on Sunday. Then we cruised out to the South Pole to watch the sunset Anna humping the south pole That sunset was awesome I had to stop one more time for a couple more pics. That night a bunch of others rolled in and we stayed warm around the fire. @@duniemonkie
  3. Loving my new Hero 4. These are from Friday afternoon.
  4. Holy crap what an awesome weekend. Huge thanks to everyone who was able to make it out. I had a ton of fun and met some great new faces. It was too bad so many of the usual crew couldn't make it out this time, but there will be another one soon. We still had a huge turnout. The circle was probably just as big as last year, just a few less buggies. Anna and I rolled in Wednesday night. The place was empty except for 2 camps. One of those camps was right smack dab where I told everyone we'll be too. So I pulled up next to them. Yep, I was "that guy". lol I thought it was quite funny. As I was unloading I could hear everything they were saying. "This moron has this whole place and parks right here!" LOL! Anyways, it was nice getting there early and having some quiet, dune time. Dumont is so relaxing. Jordan pulled in Thurs morning and unloaded his sweet new Funco. Very nice car. We went for a great run through the dunes and then his battery started acting up pretty bad at the end. That was a bummer plus he had to leave on Friday. Hope to meet up again soon, bud! More and more DDR people started flowing in Thursday night then Friday. I got a few great runs in with my car until Friday at sunset my 3rd gear let go. That sucked big time because I was really looking forward to duning on Saturday with everyone. That was like the best day. The sun came out and it was gorgeous. The broken buggy didn't ruin our day though thanks to great company. I got to drive dent boy's badass Tatum for a little bit. Even pulled some nice wheelies across the face hill. Man, you V8 guys have it too easy! lol Thanks for letting my drive your car, Chad. And big thanks to LouB & 80grit for cruising Anna and I around in your buggies. The dunes were wet all weekend. Even with some gusts from time to time there was no drying them out. That wet sand is unpredictable at times. I thought I was taking it pretty easy but apparently not because not only did we break our trans but 3 others had similar issues. 2 trannies, an engine and a stub axle/ hub bearing. Flip cup went WAY better than I even imagined. haha Damn that was fun and yes Stephen the GoPro footage is hilarious. I'll have to just upload the whole damn thing to YouTube or something. lol I have a ton of pics to go through and post but here are a few that I took with my phone on Thursday.
  5. trip report here (posts moved) http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/index.php?showtopic=19874
  6. Verizon even sucked last weekend across from 10. Worked awesome past vendor row and out by 9 too.
  7. It worked out awesome this last weekend!
  8. Great day out here today. Jordan in his new Funco...
  9. Strange. Email them to me and I'll post them. pete@[member=DumontDuneRiders.com]
  10. ahh what the heck?? C'mon Pat! Oh no, Steve. Sorry to hear that. That sucks. I was looking forward to seeing you and Becky again. Let me know when you get them back up. We'll make another trip happen. Just a fun drinking game that involves more skill than chugging beer. It's pretty fun. I know you don't drink so you can just put water, soda or whatever in your cup. The skill is flipping the cup and landing it just right rather than consuming mass quantities of alcohol. lol Totally understand, Adam. I was just messing around. If you could bring some music, that would be cool, but XM will work if Paul can bring that. Do it, Paul! I have a house style Kenwood receiver that I don't care much about. I can bring that if we need it. The xm would be awesome though. Nahh, Go off of the Tecopa forecast. It's closer. Says a little breezy on Thurs (1517 mph) and rain early Friday. Should be all gone by the afternoon and evening. The rest of the weekend looks awesome.
  11. Anyone up for a game of flip cup at night? I'll have the big red party tent set up in camp with a table, some tunes and lights for anyone who would like to play. Should be some good fun to add to the festivities. Hey maybe we could get Adam to DJ!?? Haha
  12. Nice. Maybe he can do the same for me because I'm scheduled to work the Saturday that I'll be in Jamaica. NOPE! haha
  13. What's the problem with the pics? Does it give you an error message or something? Pics have been uploading with no issues lately for most everyone. Let me know.
  14. You have to work that Saturday! lol
  15. When's everyone pulling in? It's looking like Wed night or Thurs morning for us. I think we'll be the first ones. For those that don't know my setup, here's a pic plus I'll have the DDR banner set up all weekend just outside camp. The DDR banner to keep an eye out for.
  16. Got'er all mounted up today. I decided against the tripod idea because $150+ was just too steep and seemed ridiculous. I went off of Billman's idea and it worked great. I'll unhook it from the wall mount and set it on the bed when driving down the road, but it is super solid. The load is distributed through 3 studs and it is very sturdy. It doesn't even flex. I paired our tablet and smart phones to it to watch pre-downloaded movies and tv shows wireless from the Dish Anywhere & Showbox Apps. If I get a good enough signal at Dumont, we'll even be able to watch live TV without the use of satellite. The whole goal was to avoid several hundred dollars worth of satellite equipment and monthly billing. Couldn't be happier with the way it worked out. This 42" LCD is going to be nice for movies out there! I mounted it lower than most do because we don't like having to look up so high. It worked out great. There's not a bad seat from anywhere on the couch or dinette. I countersunk the bolts from the back so it fit flush against the wall. ready for the tv mount Mounted over 3 studs in the wall with 10 good sized wood screws which seated very tightly. walla!
  17. Sorry too late. Voting began and is finalized. New DPOM is on the homepage.

  20. I think this is the latest list of confirmed RSVPs. I wasn't sure about a few guys like mineurbiz, WhiteRhino, and 702sandman. If you guys are going let me know. So far it looks at least as big as last year with 23 rigs. dunefreak & duniemonkie raspadoo + 2 Mike @ GTP OFF ROAD FireKracker + his setup, Tracy Dent boy & family Jakster884 desertrider71 sandseeker & Mary DuNe~Rydher 80grit + maybe some friends? rcazier745 +1 fastony painterjoe Lou B & daughter Lindsay BearsZX72 stinger sb2fast & Becky Adam @ GTP Off Road Moondog stteddy & wife randyvw + friends sandawg jordanhiggins2002
