  1. So this year I was only able to head out for the day on Thanksgiving. I brought my mom & sister out for their first time to Dumont! We arrived and Krusty & Danny already had the two turkeys cooking in the ground. We went for a couple buggy rides throughout the day. The dunes were pretty tracked out and rough at times, but not too bad. The good thing about those conditions is it's super easy to navigate a line. Lots of options without having to think. The camp was a decent crowd but the dunes seemed empty. Maybe everyone was either cooking or eating? My buggy did great. After servicing the shocks recently, it handled much better. Time to start playing with the shim stakcs to dial in the rear now that I know how to overhaul them. My sister and mom loved the buggy. I didn't know how they'd take to it. We had our Thanksgiving day feast with the crew around 3:00. As always, I ate way too much. The food was awesome and those turkeys came out amazing. After dinner, we went for a "pie run" instead of our usual cocktail run. We stopped by and picked up painterjoe and we went on a nice, mellow run through the dunes. Didn't want to shake up all that food too much. It was probably a good thing we headed right out. We all probably would have taken naps instead. lol We cruised over to vendor row and I stopped at GTP Offroad to say hi to Mike, Jodi and Adam. Then we went back to camp for some pie, loaded up and headed home to work. It was a great day. Semi-short but very memorable. As Lou B said...quality/ not quantity. I'm looking forward to a long weekend out there for the buggy run. Here's some pics. Loaded up and ready for Dumont! We arrived and saw some cones and smoke....caution- turkeys cooking below Getting unloaded North pole...many people parked around the pole and started at it. It was pretty intense action as usual out there. Top of comp I spotted jalper in his new prerunner build. Car looked and sounded badass! Mom's first buggy ride! selife at the top of comp with mom Classic in car GoPro. One of the first pics taken with my new Silver Hero 4. Priceless! Turkey feasting time
  2. Here's a few pics to get the ball rolling. I'll post up some from my day trip on Thursday in a bit. It was an awesome day out there. Looks like a good turnout this year. There was already a good crowd on Thurs.
  3. They're pretty damn cool but I wouldn't go that far. lol
  4. It's looking like we'll have a good group this year! Awesome
  5. You're only as good as your equipment allows so I just added a new GoPro Hero 4 Silver to my arsenal of photography/ video gear. I'm keeping my Hero 2 as my alternate view camera. Should be more fun and a little easier now to make videos with multiple cameras. Stoked to use the new Hero 4 features. Gonna have to try it out at Dumont on Thursday!
  6. Post up a pic! The winner's dune pic will be posted on the homepage after the contest is over. The member's screen name will be posted up with it as well. You may also post a caption or description included with the pic. Dune Pic of the Month- Rules 1. The picture must be YOURS. Do not go surfing the internet looking for one to submit. You cannot post any copyrighted pics. 2. The picture must not have any watermarks or logos on it. 3. The picture must be at least 600 x 600 pixels. It will be displayed on the home page if it wins the most votes so therefore we would like it to be a decent size picture. 4. The picture must abide by the terms and conditions (rules) of this board. 5. Post only ONE picture per contest
  7. Just like most meet & greets, looks like everyone is too shy to want to say hi. haha I would join ya but I'll only be there for the day (on Thanksgiving) with family and won't have time to meet up. Post up a day & time and maybe people will join in. Usually we do them at the south pole at 2 pm on Saturday, but the south pole is becoming just as popular as the north pole so it's hard to tell who is there to meet from DDR and who just likes poles.
  8. Bummer. Get crackin, MIke! You've got a few weeks still. You can do it. Hope so too!
  9. I have a couple friends who have used it in their dual sport bikes. They claim it works well.
  10. There's an app a webpage for that. http://www.dumontduneriders.com/dumont_dunes_directions.html
  11. You just concentrate on getting out there, peaches. lol Fuggin stranger! Who are you anyways? Do you still go to the dunes?
  12. The waterpumper hill climbs will be on Friday, Nov 28th (day after Thanksgiving). Setup is at 8 AM and the hill climbs start at 10 AM over by comp hill. Dune Masters weren't able to get a permit to run the drags this year so that won't be taking place.
  13. Well since I have to work Friday/Saturday AND my wife & bro-in-law both work on Thanksgiving day, I've decided to bring my mom & sister out to the dunes for the day and join my dune family for the feast. It will be their first time to the dunes...ever! I'm pretty stoked and so are they. I plan on bringing my car to get a few runs in as well.
  14. Out by 9 for sure if you want to make sure you don't get stuck. Cut out to the left off the road well before bathroom 10 too. The road gets extremely soft and pretty much fades away as you get past bathroom 10 and close to that finger dune.
  15. Please post a price IN your ad as per the website rules. FYI no commercial sales are allowed. If you aren't a company selling them then cool. Thanks
  16. Looks good, Craig. I might just have to go that route. Those new Vizios are great TVs and are super thin/ lightweight. I wish this extra TV I have weighed only 15 lbs. It's a bit heavier than that. Might just have to hang it in the garage instead. Thanks for the pics.
  17. Cool shots. It's good to see Mike back behind the wheel of a buggy again. Hopefully it's all dialed in by the buggy roundup!
  18. Sounds good, Randall! Here's an idea of where we'll all camp.
  19. I didn't have much time so that's why I was going to bring them to RC. Thanks Paul. I'll try to hit you up this afternoon if all goes well today.
  20. I planned to drop them off with John @ RC Trans. I drove my shocks all the way over there on my lunch break just to find out that he closed the shop from 12-1pm. He was probably out to lunch. Such a waste of time and aggravation in traffic.
  21. Good idea ^ Pretty ingenious. Duners do whatever it takes to get their stuff out to the dunes.
  22. We all show up and camp together for the weekend. I'll get a map posted up soon, but we always camp across from bathroom 10 on the hard pack in the big open area.
