Here's more pics from our FB page! Seems like a bunch of peeps had a great Halloween out there.

There ya go! It's easy to get bummed out when things aren't going right, but in the end duners do what it takes to make the trips happen. Glad you got it all sorted out. Last trip for us seemed like everything was going wrong and it was an omen to stay home, but after pouting about it for an hour I got over it and we made it happen.

Thanks for the report and pics!

Let's start the Halloween Weekend trip report with some live shots from Dumont. Post any highlights or pics you took over the weekend. If you're on mobile, I believe you need to switch to the full site rather than mobile in order to upload directly. Here are some from GTP Offroad and various duners who are out there already.

We rolled in late Thurs night. Of course our camp was still up except this time hanging out under a cool LED night instead of a warm campfire. Why? Because it was still about 75 degrees outside! It ended up being a warm weekend, but a great one nonetheless. We got a good 2-3 dune runs in per day. The dunes were nice and empty, super smooth and challenging to read during the bright hours of the day. In between dune runs we did quite a bit of chillen and relaxing under the awnings and in the shade. That was one part I was looking forward to the most this trip. The duning was just a bonus. I was just happy to be in vacation mode and out there with my family & friends. Didn't want to leave. I can't wait to get back out and do it again. this is my 85 MPH face! haha @@JVZ & I flying the stars and stripes on our cars in remembrance of sanddunesaddict. He flew the flag on everything he owned. Some ATC70 fun in camp camp ATC dune run to catch the sunset Our glowing camp at night Nighttime shenanigans fastony got stung by a bunch of bees. :saywha: What a character. So much fun that night. @@duniemonkie ready for a dune run with her dune jams going stopped on another dune run Lou B made some sand angels my duniemonkie vegetation was spared on this run cookies and milk in memory of Bert home sweet home campfire

I usually burn about 20-25 gallons of race fuel in my turbo Honda. That's usually about 2-3 hard runs each day for 3 days. E85 burns more and Subie's tend to use a little more because you are running them higher rpm. I would bring about 30 gallons for 3 days. That seems like more than enough unless you plan to dune for 12 hours a day.

Just a reminder... A rating: smooth, little to no washboard, recently graded, able to do the 25 mph speed limit without rattling your rig to death B rating: slight washboard in some areas, able to do 15-25 mph but having to slow down for some rough areas C rating: rough and washboarded most or all of the way, but no potholes, less than 15 mph D rating: potholes, bad washboard, less than 10 mph F rating: crap, need we say more? ok fine...huge potholes, washboard, even full of whoops at times, you know how bad it can get UPDATE: A rating. The entrance road as of Sunday was already graded and very smooth. You can easily do the speed limit without losing your fillings.

Halloween meet and greet Saturday at 2 pm @ South Pole
dunefreak replied to FireKracker's topic in Dumont Happenings
Ahh, broke the first rule about the DDR south pole. LOL That's ok, we've been giving it away for years. -
Tony you're being a little dramatic. lol 18 mph is not even a gust for Dumont. That happens almost every day out there. We saw quite a bit more than that last weekend at times.
-
It's the south pole. It's usually Saturday at 2PM on holiday weekends. I haven't posted one up since I won't be there. Someone should though!

Where to get a paddle mounted for Motorcycle
dunefreak replied to DunaticSuzyQ's topic in ATV / Motorcycle Talk
MTC (Motorcycle Tire Center) on Eastern/ Fremont. I know the owners. Great guys. -
lol you're taking my post a bit too literal And it has nothing to do with a vote. I'm just saying most people said they'll be doing it Sat night instead. It's not like the poll officially dictates anything anyways.
-
Great job! Can't wait to see some pics of it tearing it up in the sand.
-
I think alot of people will probably tell you to "come back tomorrow night!" lol
-
Looks like Saturday is the day according to this poll and everyone's responses on FB as well.
