Yep, I have mine I am bringing if we need it.

Just pull up to wherever you see a group. It will most likely be us. I'm sure nobody else will be out there. Look for Newly's big Kodiak with a 30 ft flatbed. We usually park over to the left where it's hard packed in the summer. My buggy is in my signature.

Definitely camp at Sand Mtn. The holidays aren't very crazy. The camp area gets a tad full, but like Jakster said once you get back away from the hill, the dunes are all yours! It's like those UT people don't know they're back there. lol

My 10 x 20 isn't very hard to put up. It's just heavy and takes an extra person or 2. It pops up nice and easy just like the 10 x 10's.

It's almost looking like we might able to dune all day!

It'll be fine on Sunday. Ya can't always trust the weather report. Saturday is out for us anyways.

As discussed over here, nwtdiesel, myself, ynot, raspadoo, 702sandman, my buddy Chad (with his new to him Tatum), and possibly a few others are heading to D this SUNDAY for an early morning run. The plan: Meet at Dumont approx 5:30 AM and get as much duning in as possible before it gets hot. Sunrise is about 6am. The weather is looking pretty good. The high for the entire day is only about 100 so we might be able to go until late morning. Bring sure to bring a chair, an EZ up, plenty of sunscreen, water, some lunch and some cold ones for afterwards. If anyone else is in, post up and we'll meet up. We'll be mostly buggies and RZRs, but everyone is welcome to come out. Looking forward to it.

Not crying, just saying I understand everyone dunes year-round and has trips planned to here and there. It has nothing to do with the topic I posted though. I'm talking about Dumont here.

Newly is super anxious to test out his new buggy so we're thinking of making a super early morning run to D on Aug 23 or 24. We'll be bringing both our buggies and we're hoping some others want to join us. We'd be leaving Vegas around 4AM so we're there just as the sun is poking up (5:30 ish). I usually don't ever think of bringing my car out in the summer due to the dangers of the dunes and excessive heat if something were to go wrong, but we plan on taking it very easy. We'll only be there until 10/11am at the latest. Let me know if anyone is interested. We'll pick a day and make it a solid plan. Summer dune pic added just in case you are on the fence...

Is it too early to talk about dune season? Hell no! Let's do it. I just want to get this out there now and get it over with. Unless it's unseasonable cool early in October, it's looking like Oct 24-26 for me. That's the weekend before Halloween weekend which is Oct 31-Nov 2nd. Halloween falls on Friday this year. When do you plan on heading out? I'm so itching for some sand!

I wasn't bagging on them. They're just not my thing. They are a completely different machine from a sand car. Yes, today's side x sides can rip through the dunes much better than the old Rhinos, but they still aren't a sand car nor as capable on high speed runs. Are they still fun? Yes I'm sure they are. But I just can't get into them and the last time I was at the sand show it was lame IMO. Every RZR I see in the dunes is basically tapped out and floored everywhere they go. You can't compare the two. They are both fun in there own ways. Ever watch a RZR race up comp? -yawn-

haha. Yeah right. I know some are still there, but the side x sides are so not my thing and they out-number the buggies big time since they are the trend now. They have taken over the SSSS.

I don't think I'll be hitting the side x side show anymore. Its still kinda cool, but just not worth the drive.
