We rolled in Thurs night and stayed through Sunday late afternoon. The dunes were really nice on Friday, got pretty choppy on Saturday but then the wind blew pretty good overnight making for some nice sand Sunday morning. It wasn't very crowded just like most New Years weekends at Dumont. The holiday crowd seemed split between weekends just like Halloween was. Some were rolling in as we were leaving. Friday night at comp was completely dead. We were the only group there other than one of small group of rzrs. Nothing wrong with that but it was odd to see. We got plenty of great buggy runs in as usual and I even got a chance to take the Raptor out Sunday morning for a couple rides. I went out for a nice solo run before everyone was up and then Adam from GTP, Garrett (ynot's grandson) his dad (rogers807) and I chased the buggies for a good run. The Saturday meet & greet was much larger than I expected to see. We were running a little late so when we rounded the dune to head out there I was amazed at the size of the group. I met a couple new faces but like most meet & greets, everyone seemed to stick to their own group and didn't make many introductions. I wish people were more outgoing. My car was acting up so I couldn't lead a ride but from what I hear sanddunesaddict lead a great one. South Pole meet/greet I think I am done for a while. This trip cost me quite a bit, not to mention over the last month I have done three 3 day weekends out there. It was a great trip and I wish we could have stayed through New Years Eve, but we had to get back to work. I had alot of fun with our crew. The one lesson of the weekend: DON'T PASS LOU! I'm getting a sticker made for his car- do not pass!

Sweet! What, no pics? Sorry my buddy never got back to me with tracks, but it seems you went pretty much the same way. Instead of Riggs Rd I think he took Kingston Wash.

Merry Christmas to me. Car is all back together and ready for the weekend! I worked on it all morning and afternoon but it is done. -
I thought this was a very fitting banner for DDR this year.

Right on! Terry (and Vegas Style) will be there before us. The rest of our crew should be pulling in Friday morning I believe. -
hahahaa Check with Butch's or NV Offroad Buggy if you are in Vegas. I think ynot has picked them up from one of those guys in the past.

Definitely too late to order any new sizes, but I have a handful of extras from the last order to choose from. I'll be out there on the 28th. PM me and we can meet up. I can also leave it with GTP Offroad at vendor row. Either way.

Merry Christmas or Bah Humbug? I don't know if it's just me, but it seems this year the Christmas spirit just isn't in the air this year. Some years we do a traditional dinner, drink Wasail and have decorations up, but this year it came up so fast we aren't doing much. With all the dune trips lately getting stuff fixed and prepped, I don't even have time to think about putting up decorations. It's not like I'm really against it, but this year it's not really happening for me. Half my family is either working or not in town which doesn't help. It doesn't seem like I'm the only one. Even around town it doesn't feel like Christmas. So with that said- Bah Humbug, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! We'll soon be celebrating with "family" in the sand.

That makes sense because my car doesn't move at all right now!

Who else is coming out this weekend? There's gotta be more. I'm thinking since there might be a handful of DDR people out there, maybe we should do a good old fashion South Pole meetup, Saturday at 2pm and do a group ride to follow. -
36,700 miles- in the topic

I have a riding buddy that just did Primm to Dumont on his dual sport. Waiting to hear back from him now to see if he has the GPS tracks.

The fence is fairly new, that's why I mentioned it.
