It's BAD. There's your report. Lol It's very wash boarded... big washboard. Just gotta take it very slow. Hopefully the BLM graded it before Halloween, but it's all new staff at the Barstow office so this season should be interesting.

Will do, Steve! Lol Nah Jack it was all of 9 miles an hour the whole way in. I was anxious but patient especially after just repairing the hauler bracing. I think it happened after turning off tge main rd near bathroom 10. The camp area was kinda rough, not to mention my trailer has seen some miles. It's all good. Should be fixed up in tge morning. Ryan, Eric and Randy should be joining us in the am. It should be a good day of duning!

Well the dunes are awesome. Couple issues though. My toyhauler has a broken leaf spring but a replacement just showed up. Our first run went well but Terry popped a main fuse when we were about back to camp. We couldn't find a short so i hope it doesn't happen again. None of this is really affecting my mood. I'm just happy to be here. Time for a cold one.

We'll be out near bathroom 8. Around A3 or B3 on the grid map. See you guys!

That's very cool of you! We always hear of many people losing their dogs At Dumont, especially busy weekends like you said. Welcome to DDR! I'm heading out tomorrow. Maybe we'll see ya out there this weekend. I'll be in the blue sandcar in my signature. Yell or wave if you see me.

DOOD, I'd be outta there.

NV Offroad Buggy or Butch's?

I can mail some out when I get them. I'll post up what is available. Tim, I only sent over the original logo with the quad. I'll take special requests soon for the next order.

That first pic is great! hahaaa

That would be great, Mike. Thanks

We will! :B No, I work that weekend. I'm shooting for the following weekend. If you come out this Saturday morning we can still get a couple runs in before I leave. Terry, his buddy Todd, and a few others will still be there through the weekend. They're staying.

Looking good! I ordered up a test run of stickers from her. They'll be ready Thursday but I'll already be gone for Dumont. I'll probably be picking them up on Monday.

Looks like a fun little machine and seems to be priced fair. U-joints are not the best setup but may be ok in this little car. It depends on what angle those axles get to be at full compression/ droop. You could always upgrade to CV's later down the road if they become a problem. I've never heard of that motor so I can't comment whether or not it's decent or not.

OK, back on topic here....SAND. I'm really looking forward to this trip. The weather looks awesome and we should have a decent group of buggies. As it stands right now, my buddy Ryan and Randy are both in for at least the day Friday with their cars. OGP is even talking about trying to swing a day trip on Friday! WhOa. :saywha: I still have to bail on Saturday because I'm not missing Monster Energy Cup. HOWEVER, today I decided to take all of Thursday off and head our first thing in the morning. Terry and I should be ripping before noon.

Over the weekend I found some busted up (and missing) frame cross-bracing on the toyhauler. Yeah, not good especially since I'm leaving in just a couple days for Dumont. However, after contacting Dale at H Town Performance he told me to bring it right down. Not only did he get me in right away, he fixed it up better than new and for a fair price. Not only do those guys build some very nice UTV cages, but they can tackle jobs like this with ease. So may this be a friendly reminder to those who own toyhaulers; crawl under that thing every now and then and look it over really good for cracks. It doesn't matter what brand- they are all junk and they take a beating with all the weight we put in them and then drag it down that beat up road at Dumont. Thanks again, Dale and the rest of guys down at H Town. You rock.

Sounds badass!

Is Dumont closed during the shutdown
dunefreak replied to ynot's topic in Dumont Regulations, Safety & BLM
Your friend probably grabbed that off DDR's facebook page. That info is correct.A few DDR people were out there over the weekend and they reported the bathrooms are in fact unlocked, open and clean. There is also no need for a pass at this time during the shutdown. -
I dunno I think he might even be going out for Halloween and no word from that mafaka on here. wtf Bob?
-
Hmm, so this pretty much adds to Terry's post and confirms the no need for a pass during the shutdown. Thanks for the pics, JJ. lol

I have never seen any of the Glamis craziness on any of the weekends I have gone. I've been on an off-weekend in March and multiple times on New Years- always very tame and never anything bad expect for the cops that are way too strict over stupid stuff. The majority of the people at Dumont has always been respectful people in my opinion. You'll always get one or two jerks in the crowd, but that's just society. Dumont is happy and friendly. I think you'll be happy to call it home, Newly. The crazy holiday weekends are sort of over. I believe those days are gone for a little while. Things have sort of calmed down out there (in a good way) and it seems most the people who go out now are Dumont veterans, ya know- the people who just can't live without the place no matter what the economy does. -

I don't know about "spoil", but it sure does sound pretty cool up there. Even though I'm sure St Anthony is super badass, I believe each place offers very different and unique things that no other dunes can offer.
