  1. Gotta love those off-weekends! We headed out last weekend for our buddy Brian's birthday bash. The weather was great except for a couple breezy moments, but they didn't last long. The dunes are in great shape except for a few drop offs and sketchy little spots. We had a great trip. There was hardly anyone out there but we ran into a couple groups and met some new faces. Headed back out in a few days for cleanup!
  2. Who's going out? We'll be there. I always love the warm weather for cleanup.
  3. I've never had a Poles & Holders brand flag pole fail. They have always been the go-to. https://www.polesandholders.com/
  4. The tiki is at the swingset now. 😆
  5. As we get closer to the end of the season, that means it's time to give back to our precious sandbox and do a quick sweep of the dunes. Friends of Dumont Dunes & the Barstow BLM will host the 18th annual Dumont cleanup on Saturday, March 14th. Volunteers who come out will get a free pass for the weekend (13-15th) as well as a free lunch. It's a fun community effort and a great way to get out and enjoy the nice weather with others that care about Dumont. Sponsors who wish to donate this year should Contact Jason Ardenski by phone or email (listed on flyer below).
  6. Worked great for me (Verizon). I uploaded a couple pics and video with zero issues. They went right through as if I was in town. The only dead zones seemed to be Comp & the Swingset.
  7. Some more pics since it looks like there was only two of us out there. lol
  8. Couple bad accidents/ rollovers in Romo's camp. Sounds like they will be ok though!
  9. Does anyone know what happened? I saw the helicopter at least a couple times over the weekend. Hopefully everyone is ok.
  10. Man what a fun weekend. Perfect warm weather, good laughs, and great company. I love running into everyone out there on the holiday weekends. We had a great time. Post up some highlights and pics if you went out.
  11. lol I don't know what accounts to merge. Let me know the names or pm me your email addresses that you would have used.
  12. Prez weekend with the crowds will be the true test for Verizon service, but I think it has been up and running. We had great service over MLK weekend. I doubt any other carriers work yet other than Verizon.
  13. Jake. Whats up man. Why did you have to re-re-register? Can't remember your password? There's a link for that ya know. lol http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/lostpassword Do you need me to merge your duplicate accounts. Please tell me the account names so we can keep thing tidy. To answer your question, which I think it's a question ? , it's because Dumont is not a National Park. It is an OHV area managed by BLM. The "unlimited" National Parks pass is actually not unlimited. It does have its limitations and fine print. It doesn't get you into everywhere for free.
  14. Sounds like he lived a full life in his time. Sorry for you loss. RIP fellow duner.
  15. Welcome! Each RV or vehicle that enters will need a pass whether you are a pilot, driver, duner, or just a camper. I see guys flying there all the time. I don't believe you need any special permit. Like turbo_bruce said, maybe call BLM just to be sure. 760-252-6000 I reached out to a pilot buddy of mine. Hopefully he can chime in with more info about flying there.
  16. We had some great weather. A little chilly in the morning but it warned up quickly. The dunes were in great shape. There weren't too many people out there for MLK this year and seemed like less than last year's. Perfect! The only crowd I saw was at the North Pole when they were all putting that new pole in. We had some great dune runs and even squeezed in a Little Dumont rip. That place is alot of fun and so is the cruise over. I stopped and finally met some of the vendors and picked up some shirts, hat and sweatshirt. Jericho Specialties, Desert Bling, Short Bus Ice Cream and the snow cone guy were out. Saturday night we all sat around the fire and smudge pot watching supercross. All in all it was a great weekend! Here's some pics...
  17. If you've been to Dumont Dunes, chances are you've been to the North Pole. It's one of the most popular spots out there. Over the years, the North Pole has seen some weather, abuse, and vandalism. It has been rebuilt several times. A few years ago a large second pole was installed next to the original North Pole. It was a "super sized" North Pole and everyone loved it. It became a Dumont monument where duners would hang items of importance and visit while on run through the dunes. Late Friday night of MLK weekend, it was set on fire. Duners first noticed the burned pole down Saturday morning as it was still smoldering. The remaining little bit of pole was propped back up with rocks by the duners. Everyone was outraged. Social media blew up and the community was pissed. A few Vegas guys quickly came together with a plan for a new pole. They were welcomed with applause and cheer when they arrived out there. Everyone came together and helped erect the new North Pole. The old memorials and items were salvaged and placed on the pole before it was put in the ground. A flag and solar lights were also installed.
  18. The new pole went up yesterday. I live streamed it for about an hour.
  19. New pole arrived. 🤦‍♂️🤣
  20. The actual North Pole & mailbox are fine. Someone did burn that piece of trash down though. lol I put my 2 cents in on it here...
