I know and it doesn't mean it's ok. I try to keep it off here whenever I can, but I can't moderate every classified ad. I rarely ever even read them at all but it's summer so yeah.... lol

We went to Havasu last weekend at it was only like 111° and that COLD river water at the sand bar felt great. It would be absolutely necessary this weekend. It's going to be about 126 down there. Yikes! We picked a good weekend to go!

Sounds good to me. My schedule is pretty full in July so August works. It will be a little warmer, but not that much. Just means we'll roll out of there a little earlier. Looking at my work schedule, the 10, 17, 24th should work for me. I know most of the group that just went would probably be in as well. They're all die hard riders.

If boots are uncomfortable then you guys need different boots. My Tech 8's have never been uncomfortable. You need to give every pair of boots a chance to break in.

That's not riding

Lately I've put a little more thought into my riding gear for the dunes. When I ride out in the desert I am decked out in full gear but never in the sand. Why? It's pretty much just as dangerous in the sand as the hard pack. After seeing a couple crashes over the last summer morning run, I question why some guys (including myself) limit their gear. I always wear helmet, gloves & goggles plus riding pants and full MX boots. I am starting to think about wearing some sort of chest protector and maybe even some under-the-pants knee protection that slip on. So what about you? What do you usually wear and why? I understand not everyone likes to haul ass and just likes to putt around, but it's still important.

Man that is so cool. Great hike report, Jodi! Sweet photos too. Your preparation and enthusiasm reminds me alot of my long dual sport rides. It feels so good to HAVE to prepare and work for something knowing you are relying on smart decisions to actually survive. It's extra satisfying. I bet that feeling of finally getting to those awesome falls was almost overwhelming. Good for you. I'm glad you got to experience that place. It's been on our list for a while and we hope to one day hike it as well. I have a few buddies that go every year and their photos always amaze me.
