A pic of the carnage. That sucker literally just went boom!

Great capture, Steve. hahahaa That's a bummer for Mark, especially since happened at the beginning of his trip. I bet he has his back together before Randog. OH! I bet that hurt. LOL That's pretty how all of us buggy guys are. Something let's go and we gotta know ASAP WTF it is and how $ it's gonna cost.

That's because you signed up under a different email account. I can merge the 2 together if you'd like. I'll pm you the email address you used if you'd like to go into that account for whatever reason. P.S. Dumont is horrible. That's why we made a website for it.

Sorry but I won't be able to make it out this weekend, guys. I'm postponing until the following weekend. (Dec 8-9) I have too much to do in order to get ready. I wish I could have gone out to meet you and shown you guys around Dumont. Hopefully we can meet up another time this season.

Fatality at comp, Thanksgiving weekend 11-24-12
dunefreak replied to dunefreak's topic in Dumont Happenings
It will be closed if the arguing and blame game proceeds, however we'll keep it open if it ends because it also serves as a place for people to offer their condolences to the family and friends of Craig. -
1320 is the only one who posted anything from the weekend. Doesn't anyone else have some pics or highlights they'd like to share?

+2 Great guy and top notch work. Glad to gear from you, Tim.

Damn, sounds like you broke almost everything in camp! haha Still sounds like a great trip though. What was it you went to the rangers for? You should start a build thread for the Sammy. I'd love to see that! An LS powered Sammy...sick!

It was a great turnout today for the DDR meet & greet at the south pole. Over 100 duners showed up and followed FE135 on a nice cruise to the north pole! Vegas Style said there were still about 70 buggies/ bikes/ side x sides when they all got out to the north pole too. Not bad! Good job, Neal. -
It's horrible to hear this kind of news and sucks to pass it on, but it's a reminder of how dangerous comp hill can be on a holiday weekend. I heard from Neal Rideout today that a buggy hit a quad at comp hill and the rider was killed. The buggy flipped in the air on impact. That is all I know at this point. Thoughts and prayers to all involved. Very sad.

I hate hearing people talk like this about Apex (or any other riding area for that matter). There's nothing wrong with that place. It has a great mix of trails out there. Sounds like you are a sand-only kind of rider, Adam. You are SO above that place now. Sorry flavfan, , but I had to chime in abut that.

It will be empty. It's not like Glamis. It is very big and open in the camp area and it's never difficult to find a good spot.

A few more from yesterday and today... yesterday @ the north pole first finger looking towards vendors camp area near bathroom 6 the drags today -
I agree! We are way overdue for one of those rides. Bugs me the So Cal dizzle crew has only been going out on the holidays lately. I don't know if I can yet. This house is sucking me dry. On the other hand, I need the hitch no matter what because I need sand to survive. lol I will be in touch and keep you posted. Who else is camping with you that weekend?

You know you've been around DDR for a while when you can do that ^ hahaa

Who is going next weekend (Nov30, Dec 1)
dunefreak replied to Adam @ GTP Off Road's topic in Dumont Happenings
We have 2 threads for this weekend now! lol http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/index.php?showtopic=17969 I might be waiting until Dec 8-9 now. Probably just make it a quad weekend unless other buggies are going. I have to wait and see if funds allow since I need a whole new hitch setup for my hauler. -
Yeah you cross the river (concrete slab), then go through the pay station, then up the hill and past the ranger station. You can kind of see the road on the map. It comes in from the bottom of the map below the word DigitalGlobe down by the copyright info

Great thread, Andy...until Vic got all political on us. That is great to hear things are improving for your family and especially little Jake! I am thankful to be alive, plain and simple. It's almost every day I hear on the news about someone's time running out. You just never know. It makes me that much more grateful to be alive and well. Not that I regularly dwell on death, but some people get robbed of a good life due to a tragic incident or unfortunate illness. I am thankful every day for my health, my family and my friends. Things could be much worse in the grand scheme of things and I feel Anna and I are extremely fortunate to live such good lives. We're also very thankful to have the jobs we have in order to support them. We always sit back and reflect together. New Year's Eve is actually a more fitting time for when we give thanks. We look back at the year as a whole and give thanks for what we are blessed with. With that said, always keep that positive outlook like Andy said and have a great Thanksgiving everyone. Cheers

PACK IT IN AND PACK OUT TWICE AS MUCH
dunefreak replied to SAND~~SNAKE's topic in Dumont Regulations, Safety & BLM
It pisses me off and I don't want to run this stuff over either. That is the same reason I pick this stuff up when I see it and move on. My point was directed at those who think it will make a difference to sit here and beat it into the ground. They argue about a possible solution and over-analyze how we can catch the litterbugs. Litterering...it's been going on for generations and will continue to. That's just how people are. It sucks, but you can't expect to change these people nor can you really expect to catch them all. For the record (not directed at you), rangers HAVE come into my camp on several occasions in the past and threatened to write us a ticket unless we pick up trash such as metal, glass etc that was laying in the sand. Even though it wasn't ours. So I believe the LEOs are doing their job. sh*t, now see what happened? I wasted valuable energy getting sucked into this conversation that is going nowhere. If it has to go on, let's at least make it funny. Barefoot bob...let's hear what you think! -

Also if you're so worried about the trash causing the dunes to get closed...stop posting pics of it on the internet and talking about it so much! Lol -

You guys are wasting too much energy on this. The dunes aren't getting shut down because of a pile or two of trash. Just pick it up if you see it and move on. Litterbugs are never going to change their ways. They are everywhere and don't ever seem to be caught. -

Post up any pics or updates you have from the weekend. If you have troubles posting pics from a mobile device, try using the photobucket mobile app. It's pretty easy to use. Just upload then and paste the code for the pic into your post. Here's a couple pics thanks to Vegas Style and weather as of 11AM thanks to Jill. ~68.9 degrees, wind chill 65.7, wind @ 7.8 mph, humidity 35% & pressure 31.10 You can also follow DDR on facebook as pics will be added. --> DDR on FB
