  1. I have no idea. lol I'll have to dig up the regatta stuff and see.
  2. I can handle it. BITCHEN!!!! Thanks for posting it up so I didn't have to go looking for it. Ok, now I have the itch! haha that was a sick video. Yeah bummer, I had to go grab a ANOTHER beer because it was so long. LOL Whaaat? Nonsense. That video was very well put together. I didn't ever feel like it was too long. I wanted more!
  3. That guy puts together some awesome videos!
  4. Where's the pics and trip report??? Come on!
  5. It's not really a choice of mine at this point. I stopped half way through filling out the permit packet because I came to multiple things that the BLM requires which I (and DDR) simply cannot provide. If I decided to go through with putting on the 5th Annual Regatta, participants would probably have to pay over $100 per person for an entry fee to cover these things. That's retarded. Are you willing to pay that just to enter? Plus t-shirts? Plus lunch? Plus raffle....etc. It's just become way too much to produce. We aren't a big enough group or business to produce this event with the new requirements. They want too much now. Our sponsors have helped tremendously in the past and we can't thank them enough, but asking them to step up even more for such a small event would be ridiculous and way out of line. Check out the BLM's SRP Application and look at the Event Operating Plan section. You'll see exactly what I'm talking about. I'm sorry guys. We had a good run. We can still go out and have fun. Do trophies and t-shirts really make it that much more fun? Let's just go out anyways and race around on the 70's which is how it began in the first place. Again, not putting on the 5th annual regatta is not my choice.
  6. Glamis doesn't have a regatta anymore for the same reason. They even tried to roll it into the EPO races under that permit and the BLM said no. Ride the 70's to the north pole...yes! Hmm, does someone make a desert tank for ATC70's? lol This may be MORE fun.
  7. Thanks. And I know how much everyone appreciates it, but I am really at my limit with this stuff. The BLM requires things that I (and DDR) just cannot provide and I feel like I am putting myself at risk. I go through it every year and we squeak by to get our permit. It is more than just sucking it up and filling out paperwork at this point. Like I said, the BLM is asking for things that I can't provide. It's unfortunate that other people's irresponsibility has made it this way. I think we need to get back to the basics and just go out and have fun on our 70's as friends. No big production that requires permits and such.
  8. Actually no. The whole "official event" won't get put on if we don't get a permit. It will just be a dune trip. So far, that's what it's looking like. Every year they add more crap that is required. It's ridiculous. I think I am done. Time to pass the torch to someone else. Who wants it?
  9. Sept is still hot as hell out there. Don't expect cooler temps until LATE Oct.
  10. I'm way jealous, Steve. Sounds like you are having a blast and visiting some awesome places.
  11. The campground is pretty far from the dunes. We camped at Sand Mountain every time we've been there. It's open/ primitive camping just like Dumont except they have water spickets throughout the campground that you can use to fill up your water.
  12. Good stuff! You won't have any fun in the small stuff, but the dunes in the back are pretty decent size and flow well.
  13. LS is badass. Sand Mountain is super tall and the dunes are pretty decent in the back. The small stuff and sand trails through the trees are really cool too. I love it up there.
  14. I haven't even thought of the sand much lately. I have been thoroughly been enjoying my summer so far with the new bike. It's at last 3 more months before I'll be back out at D. We have quite a bit planned in October so first trip will probably be sometime in November. I do miss driving my rail especially every time I have to walk around it in the garage. I haven't sat in it yet making turbo blow off valve noises. I give it another month before that starts to happen.
  15. C'mon 2 pages! I think he just called you a b*tch, Pat!
  16. In perfect conditions, you are fine towing that light of a trailer as long as it's not loaded to the max. But If you want to start packing the crap out of it and loading a 4 seater into it, you are pushing the limits of that truck. Add the possibility of bad weather, tire failure, people cutting out in front of you when your braking distance is limited, heavy winds, etc etc and it gets very dangerous. Every single person I have ever known who started towing a toyhauler with a half ton truck, ended up buying a 3/4 or 1 ton within a year. I can count about 7 or 8 people in which this was the case. Try and get a brake controller? It's not an option. It's required. Every tow rig up to a one ton truck requires a brake controller in order to tow that much weight safely.
  17. Ughh, going through this permit crap again really makes me want to just have an informal gathering. lol Would anyone care if there were no t-shirts, trophies or official ceremonies?
  18. yep, I can't remember the sizes though. It's posted somewhere on here or GD. I'll see if I can find it.
  19. we have a winner. Homepage updated!
  20. Nice looking chassis. Not sure of the make. I'd go with a HONDA powerplant. Surprisingly powerful, reliable and and inexpensive.
  21. Way cool, Joey. It looks good over there. That's the perfect beach cruiser!
  22. Can you believe it's already time for us to fill out out our BLM permit packet for the 5th Annual ATC70 Regatta? That's right. 5th Annual! Crazy huh? We have to get our permit into the BLM 6 months ahead of time in order to pull off next year's event. We're hoping everything comes together smoothly, but tentatively plan for the first weekend in February 2013. Details to come as the next 70 regatta unfolds.
