  1. Just thought I'd share the little banner we put on our FB page and ask the same of everyone else? So what are your plans for this Memorial Day weekend? Sand? Dirt? Lake? Ocean? Pool? A little of everything? Have a great weekend and be safe no matter what you get into. I plan on hitting Lake Mead, then a UFC party, then a dual sport ride on the new bike, and some laying around doing probably absolutely nothing on Monday. I think I'll be too beat to do anything else by then. Should be a great weekend.
  2. Speaking of boats. Summer has begun! From last weekend at Mead. Good times!
  3. Completely agree. I know most people prefer the 450. Not sure why. It feels like a child's bike to me. Way too small and rides really stiff. It's really just a matter of preference when it comes down to it.
  4. It's just Amigos Tacos. Not three lol. Now were really gonna screw some people up!
  5. Ok, cool. As long as there's some tacos there we'll be good.
  6. nope, works just fine on my pc
  7. Right on Jack. Hope to see ya Thursday then! I know huh? hahahaa

  9. huh? Are you sure you're clicking the forums tab? lol Put down the Tanqueray, close one eye and try again. That's weird. All the tabs work for me.
  10. I have never been a fan of black and white photos, but that pic is just awesome, Andy!
  11. Not sure what your problem is. I've never had that happen. Remember, you can always click the top header picture to get to the forum home.
  12. Oh and I bought a 2012 KTM 690. Check the atcv/mc section. I posted some pics.
  13. No, buy THIS 650! It's the best of both worlds. Vic, that would be a topic on it's own and it depends on your riding style.
  14. OK, the time has come to sell my baby. The only reason I am selling it is because I picked up a brand new bike and I could use the cash and garage space. Otherwise, I planned on keeping this bike for quite some time and logging many tens of thousands of miles on it. It has been a great bike and has never left me stranded or let me down. It is a very capable, bulletproof all-around dual sport for cheap! 2005 Honda XR650L $3900.00 or best offer -17,406 miles -5.8 gallon Acerbis tank (200-225 mile range) Gets about 32-42 mpg depending on the terrain -Fat bars with 1 inch riser mounts -Acerbis hand guards with custom turn signal integrated into them (since the stock location on the front forks does not work with the larger tank) -XR's Only billet case saver, chain guide, and rear rotor guard -Richochet aluminum engine skidplate -XR's Only exhaust slip on pipe -Hot Cams stage 1 cam (without the lame decompression system) -desmogged -Dave's Carb mods with uni-filter, and air box mods -Cortech expandable tail bag with aluminum plate mounting it directly to the fender (holds up to any kind of riding) -smaller tail light (original, giant ugly tail light removed) -battery is still pretty new/ less than 6 months old. Replaced only as maintenance because it was going on 2 yrs -Dunlop 606 rear, Pirelli Scorpion XC Mid Hard front- still fairly new, lots of tread left -Ultra HD tubes front and rear- never had one flat with these tubes -new clutch cable (replaced as maintenance only just in case) -new clutch and springs (only replaced as maintenance for the last big trip to Goldpoint) -battery tender quick connect plug near rear bag for charging or air compressor power -trimmed front fender A little history about the bike... -I am the 2nd owner. I purchased this bike from the original owner in 2009. He was a school teacher in his 50's in El Centro, CA and used it 90% for commuting to/from work. -Never abused and always meticulously maintained -all repairs and maintenance work has been logged in a book that I will provide -I've run 15W-50 Mobil 1 synthetic in it ever since I've owned it. Changed every ~1500 miles. I think the prev owner was running Castrol synthetic. This bike needs NOTHING to go riding. Strap your gear on and go. OK, maybe you might want some new handle grips soon. Those are a little worn. email or pm me if interested pete@dumontduneriders.com pics...
  15. So is there a joystick we're not seeing in the pics?
  16. Well we did it again, guys! Our 4th Annual ATC70 Regatta got a 3 1/2 page article in the May/ June Sand Sports Magazine. Thanks to Neal Rideout for the top notch write-up and photos. Now go pick up a copy and check it out! There is also a great write-up on another certain DDR member's badass SCU in there. Go check it out!
  17. Lookin good, Mike! That thing is going to be outfitted for just about anything soon. haha
  18. Yesterday Anna and I competed in the Devil Dash. It's a 5k run with 7 obstacles (the 7 deadly sins). Here is more info on it... http://devildash.com/ It seemed like it was way more than 5k with all those big hills! We weren't really competing...just did it for fun. You couldn't even run in some sections because the trails weren't wide enough for a couple people at the same time, but we still finished it in around 50 minutes or so even with walking a few sections and stopping for a couple cramps. Here are some pics I got with my Go Pro. The start One of the big descents wall climb Big azz hill. I should not have sprinted up this damn thing. I had the worst cramp of my life at the top! lol woooo! dirt wall tire obstacle tire obstacle 2 Anna after a quick water break at the water station "Devil's Beard" Many people had costumes. We made Adam and Eve t-shirts which was really funny when we high fived Jesus along the trail. LOL (Here was our shirts we made up) Almost to the end! One of the other climbs Mud crawl under barbed wire Red nasty azz water we had to go through I did a cannonball lol Fire rings. The finish!
  19. hahaaa no kidding! I heard it weighs like 6 lbs. It's a muffler and cat converter.
  20. New pipe, different seat for those longer 200+ mile rides, more fuel capacity, storage for some tools and stuff, maybe some crash bars, upgraded skid plate, etc etc. The list is never-ending in the dual sport world. It all depends on how hard and far you want to ride. It will do for now though in stick trim. Nice. That is one super nice WR. I thought about picking that bike up for my barely legal single track and duner bike. Sounds like it could use another tooth on the countershaft sprocket and it's golden! Congrats. What part of Vegas are you? Ever go on some good, long DS rides? I could introduce you to a great group of Vegas/ Henderson dual sport riders. We're always going out. We should hook up for some rides.
