  1. So I'm an idiot. Turns out RJ, the shirt guy, added those in. Originally the #'s were 11 and 13. Here I thought it was a crazy coincidence. He never even mentioned that to me that he did that. Clever SOB. hahaa
  2. Right on. It's a shame they don't use it more. That was a fun track to go to.
  3. Yep no prob. Ran out of time and budget. I'll see about getting some made up.

  6. Some great memories and posts from Al in this thread from that epic New years with him. We had some great laughs together that weekend. http://www.dumontdun...ndpost&p=217668 All his old posts...click here
  7. Crazy Dave had so much fun at the regatta he never made it in from the campfire.
  8. Thanks to all that made it over Thursday night. It was a pretty good turnout considering the last minute notice. There was quite the group of "OG" DDR peeps in da house. Anyways, we shared a few laughs and stories from Al and also discussed carpooling to his services which are next Saturday the 18th. I think the info was posted in the other thread. Maybe everyone from DDR who plans on attending can stay at the same place or help each other carpool and make it down there.
  9. hahaa Reading that conversation I could pretty much hear Al's voice. It's like I could hear exactly how he would have said those words. Fuggin Al. Damn I am going to miss him. Right when I think I'm doing ok I lose it all over again.

  12. Jesus, you're an impatient fugger aren't ya? It's only been a day since you posted the topic. Settle down, Beavis! I'm sure if you wait, more will post.
  13. Julie you said it so well. That was SO Al! It was just a couple weeks ago, even in his condition, he managed to get on the shoutbox and ask if we were going to be doing breakfast for everyone at the regatta. He was such a strong guy and was still looking out for everyone until the end. I remember one trip he broke his car (imagine that LOL) and went right back to cooking food for everyone like Julie said. He had his deep fryer out there and he had the best time making up some sort of doughnut concoctions. Everyone came over as he passed out different sizes/ shapes and had so much fun. It made him so happy. One of the best memories I had with Al was New Years Eve 2010/2011. We were shooting off fireworks all over the place (in camp) and almost caught each others rigs on fire. Actually it was his daughter, Jackie, she was the main culprit! It was hilarious. Al was laughing so hard. I loved seeing him have a good time. He was so full of life. The next day on a dune run he mentioned to me that this was "the best new years he'd ever had". That felt so good to hear. I am going to miss that crazy guy blasting through the dunes with his LOUD and obnoxious flamed out sandcar, crazy hair in his face, always running on the edge of blowing something up. That thing was a monster. I would hear him coming and running us down to jump in on a dune run. We'd give each other that wave and then hammer down. Before each trip out, he would just randomly call me and tell me how many pounds of tri tip, pulled pork, and racks of ribs he was bringing out. I could barely understand him and gave him sh*t all the time because he would always be driving somewhere and he'd have to talk on speakerphone. lol He would always have a secret stash of ribs or a special plate of food for me. I came to realize he did this for almost everyone. He wanted to make everyone feel special. He was always looking out for everyone. One of the last few times we camped together (I think it was the time with the deep fryer), I gave him a new nickname....camp papa. He was like a father to everyone, taking care of his dune family. I am happy to have shared a portion of my life with Al. Not only did we get Al, but he introduced us to a group of awesome people. His family, Brian, Nicki, Aaron, Ricky Bobby, Dan, etc etc. They are all just as genuine as he was. He will me missed dearly and will never be forgotten. One of the last texts I got from him through Brian was "Thanks Pete, Love you bud". Rest in peace, my friend.....Al Tomblin aka Smokin Al We'll hook up for a dune run in the next life. A classic memory with Brian and Al when Al got an early jump drag racing at comp hill.
  14. Awesome. Thanks for sharing. It brings me right back to the good times!
  15. I don't think red will work. Some of the print in the design is red.
  16. No problem, Terry. Just call, text, or swing by. Right on Steve.
  17. Tonight Anna and I will be having a special Thirsty Thursday at our place in honor of Al. Anyone who knew Al is welcome to come over. It's is sort of a small "wake" for those Vegas & Henderson friends of his who loved him and knew him well. Let's share some great memories we've had with him, have some laughs, and just hang out in his honor. I think that's what Al would have wanted most...everyone to have a good time and just enjoy each others company. That's how I remember him best. Maybe we can pick a photo and put something together for the homepage tonight too? We'll see. I don't want to turn this into a huge emotional ordeal. I'm already getting teary eyed typing this. It's been a rough day. We ask that everyone show up no earlier than 7pm and we'd like to wrap it up no later than 10/ 10:30. If you don't have my address, just shoot me a pm, text, email, or whatever. Hope to see some of you guys there.
  18. Excellent coverage and shots, Neal. Thank you again! I love them all.
  19. Funny you should say that. I was already planning on pushing back the DPOM for Al and posting a pic of him for the month of Feb in his memory. I should have it up soon.
  20. I don't even know how to say this. I just got the dreaded phone call from Brian. Al just passed this evening. I am so thankful to have had Al as my friend. He was one of a kind. RIP bud
  21. Tapatalk still works but we don't have the iphone app enabled. Where did you see this? Like ISBB said, the mobike skin works best for phones I think. Unless you are talking about the DDR Facebook app. That app just links your accounts.
  22. I did some minor cropping and tweaking on a few of Tori's pics. These pics are awesome!
  23. Yep. It's on my DDR homework list. Thnx
  24. ok guys here ya go! Many thanks to Tori for taking all of these awesome photos. We still have Neal Rideout's to come too. And something that hasn't been mentioned until now is that Neal was there getting event coverage for Sand Sports Magazine! So you expect to see his shots and writeup in an upcoming Sand Sports issue soon.
