Over the last year or so my XR has had this funky valvetrain noise intermittently when hot. I thought it was the auto-decompression unit activating when it's not suppose to but after 3 days of research and 2 teardowns later, I found it to be a loose exhaust valve seat! I am way lucky I caught it when I did. It could have damaged ALOT of crap! So now that I have no dunes AND no DS bike to ride I'm going crazy. I ordered my parts up tonight and will be dropping the head off tomorrow. The only good that is coming from this is the bike should run quieter, smoother and should run stronger. I am going to throw a hot cam in while I'm at it.

Wells Fargo! I have always had great service there back when I financed. Try even looking at their unsecured personal loan. They finance at pretty decent rates considering what it is for in this day and age. Unless you plan to finance it for the rest of your life, but those days of loans are over. lol

It still gets pretty warm up there in August. Mid-upper 90's, but nothing like Vegas heat.

Great shots, Jodi! Sounds like Coral hasn't changed much. I love that weird gloomy weather up there. It comes out of nowhere and then the sun is back out shining again in no time.

I don't have a paper filter. I just go until my oiled filter is so plugged up it just doesn't let my truck run anymore. That's way cooler.

They're usually only a few hours but that would be cutting it close. Barstow is at least 2.5 hours away. That's too bad, but I completely understand. $$ comes first.

Launching at comp hill with gobs of horsepower...priceless! Well, maybe a bit pricey but awesome nonetheless.
