  2. no, click on one of the poll options at the top of the thread.
  3. This as of now has 9,639 Views. Ya think people wanna get to D?
  4. Bitchen. Thanks for the update and pics, Adam. Are you with Travis's group or did you guys just happen to be chillen at Dumont Lake together? lol
  5. How should I know? Lol I don't think it's a very simple thing to do regardless how easy it seems. Im just going off of how long it has taken for a government agency to do things in the past. There are many steps involved and it is very expensive. Maybe if they get some huge grant for maintenance or something like thry did for that fancy new ranger station.
  6. I've been told the Little Dunes looks like tent city! LOL Sardines.
  7. Sounds like you got something...just not what you wanted.
  8. There you all have it. PASSABLE. Done. Period. Can we close the topic now? I spoke with Larry Blaine this AM and I was going to post up but the there was an issue with our server. Sorry the site was down most of the day, everyone. TCS T also made it through ok today in his big diesel and stacker. If he brought his rig through it, just about anyone will make it. He takes very good care of his sh*t and takes it very slow on the road in. Thanks for everyone's help with updates and pics. That's what this site is all about, helping each other out as a community. Everyone enjoy your New Years weekends out at D or wherever you are celebrating!
  9. Your only alternatives would be A) camp at Little Dumont and make the trek to the big dunes each ride ...or B) Try and make the road from Little D to Big D. I heard it is very soft and mushy though even in the Little Dunes. There is also about a 1ft step/ bump in the road going that way. You will definitely need 4WD and it will be rough. ...or C) wait until you leave to find out the latest conditions of the crossing. I imagine BLM will do whatever possible to try and make it crossable. The number to the Barstow BLM field office is 760-252-6000. Give them a shout tomorrow AM. They should have some news from how it was after today.
  10. Great pics, Jodi & Mike. Sounds like you all had a pretty cool trip. Thanks guys for posting up from your weekend. Many seem to forget how to do that these days and that is what this site is all about...talking about the good times and sharing dune stories. Without topics like this what GOOD stuff is there to read? River crossing drama? lol Stuff for sale? lol
  11. Thnx Superstar70! As for everyone else and their personal problems or sh*t talk, leave it off this thread and website all together. Let's try and leave this thread open for river crossing/ updates discussion only. See how people get when they can't get to their sand? This is getting dangerous!
  12. Very cool, peewee. Hit up El Monte RV. They are a site sponsor of DDR. (Banner at bottom of the page) They may even cut you a deal if you tell them you saw their ad on DDR. http://www.elmonterv.com/ Looks like this is their page to find a place to rent. http://www.elmonterv.com/siteSpecific/vehicles/regions.aspx I've even used them myslef in the past and they are very cool to deal with!
  13. Check this site out. Anna told me about it the other day. Some funny screen shots of auto correct gone wrong on the iphones. http://damnyouautocorrect.com/
  14. I will post whatever updates I get via text or whatever. I'm not there so were at the mercy of the duners' updates that are sent to us.
  15. Here's what HTownPerf sent me just a bit ago... It's only about 2 ft deep max. Water goes to maybe the top of a trailer tires rim! It's not 4 ft deep like some think. Maybe yesterday! It's more of a not getting hung up situation! HEIGHT! I'll take some pics tomorrow morning!
  16. I'm sure you'll make it as other moho's did as of 4pm, but just be careful.
  17. When was that taken, David? As of 4 o clock today H Town Performance said some 4WD's and even some moho's made it through ok. I'm sure it's rough and somewhat sketchy, but they made it.
  18. Still waiting to hear from a few more. We should know for sure in a couple days.
  19. More updates sent from sandchick... A super lifted truck and flatbed trailer made it going full throttle I guess he almost got stuck the first attempt without the trailer, but he is super high and was hauling a$ the whole way She just talked to the guy in the truck. He said he had to hit it just right and there's a three to four foot drop off when you first hit it! Pic of a pic... (water up to the doors on a very tall truck!) Here is Malibu Mike standing next to the truck to show you what kind of truck went through. LOL I would guess that a truck & hauler or a motorhome might have some trouble.
