Halloween for us. I still have a bit to do to get ready for the season. The cooler temps are getting me anxious to get back out.
-
Thanks for the heads up! Any idea what they are doing? Widening the road maybe? They kinda need one more lane going up that hill.

untilPresident's Day is on Monday. This is one of the biggest holiday weekends for Dumont Dunes other than Halloween & Thanksgiving.
-
untilMLK Day is on Monday. Not many people make this a big holiday weekend, therefore, it's been called a "duner's holiday weekend" in the past.
-
untilNew Year's Eve is on a Monday night, after the weekend. So try to save some energy from duning to party and kick off 2019!

untilIt's our annual trip with all the buggies of Dumont! Come out and camp/run with everyone all weekend. Calling all sandcars! Come join us at Dumont Dunes for our 6th Annual Buggy Roundup. This is a group trip for all the sandrail members of DDR. We'll be camped as a group across from bathroom 10, just off the right side of the entrance road. This trip gives the buggy owners of Dumont a chance to meet each other and run the dunes together for a full weekend without the crowds. So don't be a stranger. Every year we have new people join the camp and end up leaving as friends. There is no set schedule of events, but Saturday will likely go something like this... 8:00 AM-?: SandCars and Coffee- Pull your car into the center of camp, bring your coffee and let's say good morning and arrange a morning ride. Saturday Afternoon: The rest of the day will be dune runs, hangout, maybe bust out Ben's scales and weigh a few buggies, more dune runs, probably a group photo, some more dune runs, and it seems every year a couple guys always participate in their own impromptu huckfest when we stop at the jump back behind comp hill. Saturday night: We'll have carne and pollo asada tacos for everyone in camp, enjoy some campfire, maybe talk some smack, probably have some ATC 70 races...you know the usual dune stuff. Chad, aka dentboy, may put his projector up for some nightime movies, UFC, or something entertaining. There may even be some games of flipcup! As you see it's very laid back and we don't put any expectations or schedules on the weekend. Afterall it's the dunes. Let's go have some fun. Want in? Here's what you need to do. 1) At the top of this page, click GOING... 2) Chime in on the forum topic and let everyone know you're coming. Add a pic of your car and rig so we know who ya are. (optional) 3) Pull up and park with the group. You know how that works. "Hey man, cool if I park here?" Let's see what kind up messed up circle we can create this year! We'll be camped in the same spot as last year across from bathroom 10 on the right side of the entrance road. It's hard packed and easy to find. FAQs I don't have a sandcar. I have a sxs/bike/quad. Can I come anyways? Of course. We love meeting and hanging out with all our friends from DDR. We only ask that everyone respect that this is an annual trip focused on the buggies of Dumont and that you please stay behind the cars on the dune runs. Different machines don't mix well when it comes to high horsepower machines. Also, if and when we do a group buggy pic, it's just for the buggies please. Do I need to contribute anything for taco night? No. That is something we do to say thanks for coming out. If you have a side dish or something that goes well with tacos, feel free to bring it. It's definitely not necessary though. We usually have a good spread. I want to go but I don't know anyone. That's perfect. Come out and make some new friends. Introduce yourself. Everyone that comes out each year is super cool. Do you guys run the dunes on Sunday too? Yes! Although some only make a day trip on Saturday or pack it up and leave first thing Sunday morning, many of us are there until late in the day on Sunday. How early can I go out? Will there be anyone there on Wed or Thurs? I (Pete) will be out there Thursday night sometime. There may be others going out earlier and grabbing the spot before me. The best way to find out and coordinate that is on the forum topic. Post up and we'll chat about it. So don't forget to RSVP! We need to know you are coming. Hope to see you all there! Last year's Buggy Roundup...

This year's SSSS was huge. The last time we went was probably 9 years ago when the economy was talking. I wondered at the time if there would be much more of this show, but holy crap. It's bigger than ever before. It was mostly sxs stuff which was expected, but I didn't care. Just being at the show, kicking off dune season and seeing a bunch of friends was a great time. I picked up an electric power steering kit for the buggy, a new LED whip, recovery strap, riding pants for Anna, and a bunch of other swag. Here are a few pics for those that missed the show. @EY3BA11 and me pretending to be RV salesmen. "Just let us know if you have any questions"🤣 I ran into Endurocross, Cody Webb that day too.

I would not count on it. I have only seen one or two rental companies in the 20 years I have been going, but vendor row is pretty slim these days and there are no rentals available out there lately. You would have to rent something before you leave town to bring out.
-
Ugh that sucks! Sorry to hear. Post some pics so we have a better idea what to keep an eye out for.

Just a heads up! Anyone going this year? https://www.sandsportssupershow.com/show-times-and-tickets I would like to go to catch Endurocross as well. Might have to put it on the calendar. https://www.showclix.com/event/sandsport-supershow-endurocross

Apparently the print shop had to reprint them so there is a slight delay this year. They won't be ready until the 3rd week in September. If anything changes, I'll be sure to pass along the information.
-
They are usually printed in early September. As soon as they are available, I'll have the info posted up on the site.
-
Cool no problem. Just let us know if you have any more questions. Enjoy your trip whenever you get back out there!

No more Dumont passes @ Doghouse
dunefreak replied to Doghouse's topic in Dumont Regulations, Safety & BLM
Thanks, Phil. I'll remove Doghouse from the list on our passes page. -
Welcome to DDR. Will this photo do?

I know alot of us do summer mods, sell and buy new toys, and even switch up our entire setup. So what's everyone plan for next season? Post up what's new to you. No new toys for us. We'll still be rocking the same truck, trailer, and buggy. I know for us, especially since we've built our Sprinter van, I learned a lot in the meantime about batteries and charging systems. I plan on adding some solar and a couple more batteries to the toyhauler. No more dead batteries after a long night of running the heater! A little Honda generator is probably at the top of our list too. Been meaning to buy one for years. The ole 05 Dmax is almost a classic at this point. but it still pulls hard and drives like a new truck. The only thing it needs is maybe some new shocks and it's good to go. As for the buggy, I say it every season, but I'm adding power steering this year damn it. I really want to get this done this fall. I'd also like to get the suspension recharged and dialed in some more. If anyone has a tuning guy please send me their info. But other than that, I just want to get back out there and do the same thing I have been doing for years- chillen with friends and shredding some smooth sand. It's been a long, nasty summer so far and I can't wait for some cool weather.
