  1. ^ yeah what he said. Start w/ checking the basics. ...or maybe you flooded the hell out of it with carb cleaner! :rockwoot: If that doesn't work put some 26's on it. :B
  2. cool cool...you can definitley count us stopping by. Hell, more than likely we'll end up being neighbors like usual.
  3. I totally hear ya. Sobe bomb camps and loud music all damn night is kinda a thing of the past w/ us now. We like partying with friends...just in a lil more "adult" chill way. Just give me a ring if ya wanna hook up.
  4. (I split the other topic where you posted this since it is almost a topic of it's own ) Anyways, yes I know what you are trying to say Sam. Here it goes. Let's put it this way: Hayabusa sandcars are like a quad with a steering wheel...on steroids! My car is extremely agile through the dunes. You can take on any of the most technical tighter and smaller dunes, but at the same time you can open it up across those long stretches and big bowls and haul azz. Depending how the car is geared (sprocket size), you usually hit speeds of 70-80 mph when you open it up running hard. That is pretty damn fast even for a fullsize car through the dunes. Turbo? Not needed on a Hayabusa car unless you really like hillshooting. IMO, the only advantage a turbo would have is hitting the hill and drag racing. If you are a DUNER and like actually driving and hitting the dunes all day long, I don't think a turbo is really worth it or necessary. I have never had one, but I can go PLENTY fast through the dunes without one. Ask any of my buddies that I dune with. :ah: It seems the only way you can make use of a turbo on a Busa IN the dunes is either when you have the chance and area to really open the throttle up for while or romping out of the corners. I always wondered if the turbo would hurt the torque of a stock motor with the possibility of having a lil bit a turbo lag. Maybe not though. ?? :dumbass: As far as places you can dune a Busa car you can have fun at just about any of those dunes you mentioned. I have duned Glamis, Dumont, Coral Pink, and Little Sahara with my busa cars over the years. The car did great at every place. Glamis was a blast other than those damn cross-ruts in the huge bowls that beat the liven chit out of lighter cars , but those dunes are awesome for running. Coral Pink is badass as well for the car. You are limited to the lines you can take there since you don't have reverse or can make those super tight turns in tight trails full of trees, but if you know the dunes well enough you can have so fun there in a car. I, personally, really like turning and negotiating different terrain and Coral is perfect for that. Your path is constantly changing there from open dunes to tighter trails with bushes and trees. The agility of the small car is awesome for that stuff. Little Sahara I didn't get much of a chance to dune with my car since it was my first trip out with it and I was hesitant to get crazy with a brand new car. That and the group I was with didn't seem to wanna get too deep into the dunes. I did get out into the dunes with my quad and they seemed like they'd be killer for the rail. Dumont is my favorte place for driving my car. It's got the tight stuff where you can really piss off your friends with bigger V8's and slight the azz end around and dart out really fast. It takes the razors really well and the lines at D almost seemed like they are groomed for a busa. Does that answer your questions?
  5. Badass Dave. Happy birthday and glad to hear you had such an epic weekend out there. Don't ya just love those weekends when you are leaving the dunes with a sh*t eating grin on your face? We dumped RIGHT AFTER last trip on the way home! Left the valves open a lil longer than normal that time letting the water run through the tanks. Hey Dan don't forget your Super Strap in case I feel like driving to comp and taking the "high road" back! :dumbass:
  6. Even my a-hole puckered up when you did that chit! ...and I was only taking the pic! :ah: YIAH YIAH!
  7. That's funny. We posted at the same time and basically said the same thing.
  8. No kidding! I can't believe how cheap fuel has gotten to be lately. I still doubt the dunes will be any more crowded from year's past though. The economy has already forced alot of people to sell their stuff. Halloween was already down from years past. BLM even said the crowd was down big time. I'm thinking there will still be a good turnout, but it may take another season or two to get like it was the past few years. That's if the sport/ hobby ever gets back to the peak that it was at. It may take a while like everything else. Here's a couple pics from T-Day weekend... 2003 2006 I can't see it gettin anywhere near what those pics are like but we'll see!
  9. Tim you know you are always welcome w/ us. We don't get loud and crazy anymore like we used to. Mostly just laugh our a$$es off at night around the campfire. :peeps:
  10. DAYUM! Big baller now huh?? Can we still be friends? Congrats Paul. That is badass! I love the layout...and big azz TV. :ah:
  11. sweet! Yea man offer still stands. Come on out. We won't be too hard to find. I'll chat w/ ya before then.
  12. pshh...weather looks AWESOME if you ask me! :dumbass: :?:
  13. I'm gettin the itch now. I just spent the last 2 days tweekin on the hauler cleaning the hell out of it and re-organizing some crap. (was long overdue) Threw out alot of unnecessary chit and stocked it up with some new things. I'm feelin it! Gonna be a great weekend. We're rollin in thurs night sometime and staying as late as possible on sunday.
  14. They don't build many cars with lots of lights and accesories unless specifically requested. One time they did build a custom alternator setup for a customer's car where it ran off the front sprocket and charged while the car was moving. A stock stator will supply plenty of juice for a small set of lights, but I added another set plus 2 fans instead of one to cool the larger radiator in this car so I would like more. I think I overloaded mine a couple times and that abuse is what took out the rectifier. Besides when they built my car they used the motor that I supplied to them so they didn't ask if I wanted anything special done to it. There's alot of things I think they should do to their base models, but I guess most people don't drive like I do so their base design is good enough for them I suppose.
  15. It would have to be pretty far out there. Riding in the desert anywhere just outside of town is illegal now and they are crackin down on riders.
  16. Damn not bad David! Awesome.
  17. Right on Bob will do. Here's a better pic of my bike... I think I've met you before. Bobby right? With the hopped up pinto? You knew Heather and Mark Bourn a while back right? I think I met you at Heather's apartment. Talk about a memory right? Some things just stick I guess. That or I am completely off here. :angry2: I'll keep an eye out for ya next weekend.
  18. haha no prob whiz...or the lack there of! :angry2: j/k Her brithday was listed at the bottom of the forum index page. That's why skyz posted about here after clicking her profile and saying to herself :?: . Pizza does kickass, unless it's f*ckin Tony's frozen azz no-pepperoni having muffhuggan shhhiat!
  19. You should have just read my post earlier in this thread! If the gear is worn it can misfire at random times. One or multiple cylinders (usually close to each other in firing order) will misfire and set p0300 codes. Pull out the distributor and check it. You could also have worn bushings. I bet that gear is worn though. Look at the teeth closely. Usually 1/2 the teeth will be paper thin and the other half will be thick and fine. A bad coil is pretty rare with these especially since it's only one affected cylinder.
  20. Oh yeah huh. :angry2: I didn't even think of that. No biggie though. I know sometime during the weekend of T-day I'll be jonzen for the rail, but I really am looking forward to burning through some gas on the 2 wheeler and qWad. Tracking was right on. Rick's called me today to let me know they receievd everything. They will have it done next week and I should probably have it by early the following week sometime due to the holiday. In addidtion to the upgraded HD rec and stator, they are hooking up a whole new custom harness for the recitfier to stator with all new connectors. I should be all dialed in then!
  21. Good seeing you out there, John. I didn't realize that was your first trip out w/ the car! haha Badass. Sounds and looks like you had a great time.
  22. I didn't start the thread looking for an invite for dinner, but thanks Jodi. Like I said, we already don't have plans on purpose and won't be out till late Thursday anyways. I was just starting some T-day conversation is all.
