  1. Hey Jodi, unfortunatley I don't think me and monkie can make it tomorrow. She caught some bad cold thing over the last day or two and she's been pretty sick today. Besides, after the Barstow trip I am now kinda broke till payday on Thursday. I'll know for sure tomorrow, but I doubt we can go. Sorry.
  2. I had an idea for web banners for signatures, myspace pages, websites etc. I am going to make a couple different banners in different sizes, shapes, and colors etc and put them all on one page on the site with a copy/ paste code that everyone can use for wherever they'd like to link the banner(s).
  3. Good luck Danielle, Chris, and family. Sounds like it will be a good move and you will enjoy your new home up there. Stay in touch and keep us posted about your crazy farkan adventures. :clown:
  4. Yes you did Brian...just by being there. Just showing up shows the BLM we care and we support our riding areas. They really appreciate when duners show up...mostly for the reason you said, a learning experience.
  5. If you guys wanna talk about English and Spanish- start a new topic! Thanks Kamal. It's a ~9.5/10:1 small block 406 with cam (can't even remeber which one anymore, lol), Bowtie heads, roller rockers, Kieth Black pistons, headers, Street Dominator intake, etc etc Trans used to be a TH350, but I swapped it with a 700R4 so I had overdrive. It's got 3:73's in the rear too.
  6. I don't care. I'm still not working on it. :?: How do I get by? Because I live in America where the current language spoken here is English. That's pretty conveinant for me because it just so happens to be the same language I speak. duh! Oh and BTW, it has been a rule here on DDR since day 1.
  7. Just got in after a long and very boring drive from Barstow. Anyways here how it went today. I'll do my best to summarize it. Terry (ynot) and everyone else there today can add what they think is worth mentioning from the meeting. The meeting went really well. The BLM and William Presch are definitely working hard on this IN OUR FAVOR. It's looking good. We brought a bunch of good ideas to the BLM today which they were happy to hear from us. They were all ideas to help educate Dumont users about the critical habitat areas and to help keep duners from going into these areas. Other grant money and reserves will be used for this important item instead. The BLM is already planning on putting up a cable and post fence before the railroad burm out to the northeast of the dunes to keep people from going past this area. Note: this does NOT affect where we already ride and the cost of the fencing project will NOT be taken out of our fee money. The data from William Presch's studies was submitted to US Fish & Wildlife for review. Recently he has been studying the population of the lizard and how distinct it is in and around Dumont Dunes. I believe his findings actually ended up being in our favor. The only traces of Fringe Toed lizards in or around Dumont were in areas where we already do not ride. The lizard resides in areas of vegetation and only in a certain grain of sand (different from that of the dunes we ride on). So what this all means is that the lizard is basically not threatened by OHV's unless we go out of bounds into the areas where it lives. Between the lizard data present by Bill Presch and the conservation efforts that the BLM and we, as duners, are willing to make, hopefully the US Fish and Wildlife will not list the lizard as a distinct population or endangered species. The BLM stated that it will be another 6-12 months before US Fish & Wildlife actually finalize their decision. It's looking good though. I really don't think it will get listed. Everyone REALLY needs to help with this by staying in bounds. We can't stress that enough. It's not even that hard to do. There's no reason to ride out there anyways. It just tears up your paddles anyhow.
  8. Um....NOPE! Sorry. Besides the carb on this truck and the carb on that sammy are like two completely different things. :poop: Electronic carbs.
  9. :?: :clown: This thread isn't about recycling! so......Anywayyyyys...... Barstow pretty much sucks but it's cool to be hanging out with Woody and OGP. I'm just waiting for richard cheese, ynot, and indasand to get in town. We're gonna grab some grub and then head over to the meeting. We'll definitley keep you posted on what happens, everyone.
  10. Carters are great for mild engines, but any motor with a big cam usually benefits from a Holley. At least that's my experience with them. :clown:
  11. Anna has these giant pixie stix. We'll bring em for Bob since he likes those things so much. It will help him stay awake too.
  12. Heading right out now to Barstow. See you guys tomorrow at the meeting.
  13. :?: DUMONT! beer or cocktails?
  14. OK, since it is summertime and the board is kinda slow, I figure I'll share my stupid carburetor story with you all. :clown: After d*cking around with this stupid old azz Holley carb for days and days now, I finally got it dialed in. I almost forgot how to work on these damn things after all the years of being away from them. Carburetor? What's THAT? I completely went through the carb and rebuilt it. THEN, last weekend after I got it running, half way around the block the stupid needle and seat decided not to seal and it just started dumping fuel. I parked the p.o.s in the driveway and said eff it. Except, it wasn't quite far anough of the driveway. So sitting on an incline in the driveway , I started it about 20 times to try and move it up about a foot. Not so much. It died as soon as I took my foot off the gas. So I two-footed it and dropped the hammer and burned em up my driveway. :ah: I said screw it and went inside for a beer and left it until this weekend to mess with. So today I finally went out and figured out why the needle wouldn't seal. There was this black chit getting pumped into the carb. The old azz anodized fuel filter housing has a rubber seal that deteriorated to crap and got pumped up through the fuel line. So I got her running again and it runs great. I didn't even throw in the plugs and change the oil like I meant to either. I did wash it though! This time I threw some stabil in the gas so I don't have to do this again. I gotta start driving this thing some more. :peek:
  15. Those pay stations haven't worked in over a year. If there's someone there (which I doubt), just pay. Unless you have a season pass from 07/08- those are good till the end of Sept. Nope. Not sure why he has the "look at me, bitchezz" attitude now. I guess it comes with the trailer. You ok, Bert? :peek:
  16. Sounds good to me. I think everyone decided to park/camp somewhere right near bathroom 6. So just pull up where everyone else is and park wherever you feel comfortable.
  17. Right on, dunegirl. Alot of the people on that list usually don't camp with each other either, so don't feel left out. :black: Looking forward to it. See you out there.
