  1. I thought you were talking about yourself in 3rd person as if YOU were the neighborhood kid. :poke:
  2. We must have smelled or something. You were at the opposite end of the bar all damn night with the rest of the chic click.
  3. http://www.dumontduneriders.com/passes.html#increase
  4. Hey Cat! Glad to see you pop in from time to time. I still remember cleanup two years ago with you and the rest of the S/U crew. Good times. Too bad you guys can't make it this year. You'll be missed. Have fun at the game.
  5. There is always a pretty good demand for technicians these days. Keep in mind that cars and trucks are becoming more and more advanced and complex. The "average technician" is slowly fading. Most techs these days require many different areas of skill and knowledge. Techs at the dealership I work at make anywhere from ~50K a year up to ~120K a year. It all depends on how skilled and experienced you are, how willing you are to bust azz, organizational skills, etc etc. Dangers: There's always danger when working with anything mechanical and with chemicals. Job safety is always something that techs must follow religiously. Otherwise there is always the risk of major injury (or even death) if precautions aren't taken. Thats with many jobs out there though. I'd say as long as you are safe, the risk as a tech is rather low. Benefits?: hmmm Ya got me on that one. Benefits are going to vary depending on where you work. ie: dealership, city or state job, independent shop, etc. At the dealership I work for we get 5 or 6 paid holidays per year, 2 weeks vacation (after 2 yrs employment), and well.... thats about it. Hope that helped you some.
  6. I saw that too. I couldn't tell which rail was the one that was in the accident though.
  7. I hear ya. It just sounded like a big part of your post was because our fees went up and that there should be more rescue vehicles and personel because of it. I completely agree they should have been better prepared. It's pretty scary knowing that if something happened out in the middle of the dunes that there would be limited ability for rescue crews. It's just one more reason not to dune by yourself. Wow, I actually agree with you this time! Although the camp host Rhino isn't wider or LT, it has been worked over some.... http://www.dumontduneriders.com/project_rescue_rhino.html I think Don's Rhino is probably a little more agile and can go some places a full size truck can go though.
  8. I hope the victim(s) are ok. Sad to hear of any accidents. Let me set the record straight about the fees (like I have a million times in the past). The increase in fees does NOT pay for any extra rescue staff. You aren't going to see changes. The fee increase was to make up for funding that Dumont lost last year. It is sad to say...but I think that Dumont does not have the funding to provide medical and rescue staff on every weekend like the large holiday weekends. I think the holiday weekends abosrb most of fee money because the demand is so much larger on those weekends. I hope this doesn't start another arguement about the stupid fees. I'm just trying to give an inside look at what the INCREASE was all about. (to make up for lost funding for what we already had) If there was to be medical staff personel on site 24 hrs a day with many different vehicles could you imagine what we'd be paying then? It looks like the camp host was there. (the white rescue Rhino) Was he the one who transported the victim(s) or no? Regardless. I agree the rescue crew should have come out with better vehicles to assist with this accident. Thats just pathetic regardless of what we're paying. BTW, welcome to the site
  9. Ok cool. I should be there Thursday night with Steveo, OGP and Joe Duner. I have a feeling that will happen EVERY night this weekend. I'll try and find your guys' camp though and swing by. Other than that, feel free to cruise by our place at C6 on the map.
  10. Ok. What day are you you going out for this weekend?
  11. We should be able to contribute quite a bit this year. Thanks to those very generous folks who have donated so far we have raised 450 bucks.
  12. fuggin toyhauler tricks It was ok except for that ONE spot along the 95. YIKES
  13. Don't forget to set your clocks ahead an hour. Time for those longer summer days. (BTW, DDR adjusts automatically on your pc if you have the DST Correction box checked under My controls/ board settings.)
  14. Sweet pics! Pomona is always fun. I haven't been in a few years.
  15. That sucks. At least you didn't have to drive all the way up there to drop it off.
  16. I was speaking with Terry about the raffle and I think this year they'll have just one pot for all the prizes. It will go faster that way. Last year took FOREVER to get through them all. They had ALOT of chit to give out. Whats with the quotes? "buy", "hook up" ??? Anyways, yeah I was going to check with some of the site sponsors first before I go pick some stuff up and see about some deals to make our dollar go as far as possible.
  17. Sure I might bring the grizzly too this year so we came reek havoc throughout the entire park. Samurai gets loaded FIRST this time though.
  18. Damn, Randog! You made it on the website!
  19. Pete you can park w/ me and our group if ya want. PM me for day & time we're all getting there and all that fun jazz.
  20. I love the HOB, but ONLY when the show doesn't sell out. They oversell the f*ck outta those tickets and cram way too many people in that place. Probably a major hazard in the event of an emergency.
  21. I slept right through it. Had to work today. I just listened to the message. :beer_bang: Once I figure out how to upload it, it's going up. :beer_bang:
  22. Well I hardley ever get "good" mileage when towing but I can tell you I got about twice as much as wsky70. This is wsky70's gasser...
  23. Here is what I paid in Blythe going to G last weekend. Needles was even more! 4.10/ gallon. Even in town it has gotten up to $3.69/ gal. Dumb as fk! :beer_bang: Time to park the DMax and drive the Z71. :beer_bang:
