So you won't be there for New Years? Oh well, we'll see ya Sunday then I guess. -
cool, thanks! ohhhh chit! :beer_bang:

Because I was talking about a get together outside of the dunes for a change. Not everyone can make it to Dumont. Everyone's broke! -------- I think a few of you don't really understand what I was talking about when I said get together. I'm pretty sure more than just 10 or 15 people are gonna show up. That said, bowling is pretty much out. That is something you do with like a small group. I think one of the places where we can reserve a large section would be best as long as there isn't a huge fee for it. We gotta keep it semi-simple and affordable for everyone.

Steve, what you involved in was a freak accident. Those can happen anywhere, anytime. Yes there is some danger in our sport or hobby, but you are going to have that in almost any hobby, well other than golf I guess. I wouldn't change anything you do other than maybe start going out on the off-weekends with your family. The number of people on an off weekend is a fraction of that of a holiday weekend. You can't stop doing what you love just because of an accident. They are going to happen. You didn't do anything wrong. Besides, we need more people like you in the dunes anyways.

Vicky posted this back in April http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/i...opic=945&hl

I just read more good news on the caringbridge website

busy down there on the 26th? nah I really doubt it for New Years. Especially seeing how T-DAY was pretty calm. You should be fine.
-
yeah out by bathroom 3 you can park up near the finger as long as its not all taken by the time you get there. That would probably be the most ideal spot for what you are looking for.

Sweet. Looks good, Tanner. So it looks like you found those Robby Gordon wheels after all. Are you sure they are street legal? :beer_bang:

He shouldn't need a whole new or different housing if all he wants is a posi unit. The Z28's have 7.5" rear ends...and so do the S10's (the standard S10s, not ZR2 models). All you have to do is swap out the stock open end carrier from the S10 with a posi unit out of a Z28 posi rear end and then check and adjust your backlash and check your gear pattern to make sure it is the same or close to before. I am not sure wtf that RPO code is exactly. I'd have to look that up.

I personally like along the finger dunes. It just depends how quiet you like it.

Well I think I found the problem. After some time of trying to figure out how the furnace system works and how the heck to get it out from under the cabinet, sand~snake and I think we diagnosed the problem. The sail switch was sticking. stupid little switch was sticking closed At least I don't think I need another $130 board. That switch doesn't look nearly as expensive. :beer_bang: Watch it be 200 hundred bucks.

I see how you are now. You go to Glamis once, now you are too good for Dumont. ok, fine. :beer_bang:

Maybe we should take a vote for when to do this, then decide or vote where to have it. I am thinking maybe we should wait to do it till after New Years. That way we can do it big and right. It seems we have a bunch of peeps on board already just from talking about it today. If we waited and did it up like the weekend after New Years, then it would be easier for the Cali people. I'll add a poll to this thread so everyone can choose when they think we should have it.

Most every will be at Dumont jackass.

It would help if you posted what price range, experience, 2 or 4 seat preference, long travel, etc etc.

I absoluelty love my car. I have a Hayabusa Short Sand Car. I replied to your pm with my idea of the pros and cons... Here they are for everyone else to see as well. Pros long travel suspension soaks up the rough very well compared to a standard travel lightweight (power to weight ratio is awesome) small- fits in smaller toyhaulers where larger rails won't less expensive than larger rails VERY agile inexpensive to maintain/ fix (compared to fullsize rails) pretty reliable because of its simplicity uses much less fuel than fullsize cars- you can dune almost all day on a tank of fuel IMO, more bang for the buck Cons no reverse unless you fork out a few grand extra when buying (I could care less about R in the dunes though) a little rough at very low speeds over the rough but most cars are If you are one of those guys that think bigger is better, a mini won't work for you. Aren't the best for big air (jumping) due to teh short wheelbase My car measures 12' from wing to nose. It gives even the high dollar full size cars a pretty damn good. Ask a few of the guys on this board that have duned with me. I don't have reverse or a turbo which seems to be quite the trend lately with most busa cars. Let me tell you what...you don't need either one. Adjusting to no reverse might take some time if you are used to having it, but I have hardly ever needed it at Dumont. I could have used it at Coral Pink a couple times (it's alot tighter quarters there esp in camp), but the car isn't that hard to manuever or push back if need be. Its light.

Vote now

I'll try that, Brice. I'll be going out this weekend (Sunday) to test it out and get a sand fix. Wanna go???
-
I'll get it set up tonight.
-
Hey cheese, are you FED UP with this chit or what?
-
Are you trying to say you will be out of town this weekend? Where you going?
-
Should we figure out when and how big of a crowd we will have 1st or just do it? I'd say either this Fri or Saturday night. Otherwise we'll have to wait till after New Years since next weekend is a duning weekend. Hell ya know what?...fugg it we can always do TWO. A quick one this Friday wherever, then a bigger one after the new year somewhere else. Whatchoo guys think? I just wanna get together with everyone for some good times like usual.
