  1. Has anyone ever changed theirs and if so what brand belt have you had good results with? I have about 2800 miles on my Grizzly 4x4 and think it may be time to change it out. I wanted to stay with a Yamaha belt, but I have seen Dayco belts on E Bay Buy it Now for 35 bucks. I may still stick with the Yamaha brand as they are only 89.99 (Buy it Now). I guess this thread also applies to Rhinos too.
  2. Where the hell did they find a quarter mile conveyor belt?
  3. I have been planning on going all along. I said on Sunday that the only thing that would hold me back would be the unexpected trip up to Utah but it doesn't look like that is gonna happen till after T-day.
  4. I'm looking forward to making this meeting to be able to hear about these items being discussed in person. Hopefully there will be some new and much needed info about the fee and pass fiasco.
  5. I read about this on a couple other sites and thought I'd spread the word to anyone who might be interested. more info link (must be a registered Planet Sand member to view it though)
  6. My plans for going to Dumont for Thankgiving have been up in the air until now, but I thought I'd at least post up the usual place and time for the meet & greet. Anyone who wants to meet up and put a face to a screen name, meet at the south pole on Sat the 24th at 2PM. There is usually a pretty large turnout and you get a chance to meet some other DDR members and can usually hook up for a group ride. Where: Dumont south pole (south of comp hill) When: Saturday Nov 24th Time: 2PM Who's invited: anyone and everyone from DumontDuneRiders.com and their friends

    My girls

My niece did the same thing the other day. That's very thoughtful and kind of them.
  8. It's funny. Supposedly there is this huge shift or climb in temperatures or "run away climate change" right? Well if that is the case why is it that when you watch the weather on the news the record highs are usually set back in the 60's or 70's. Wouldn't that alone prove the global warming theory wrong? :freakin_nuts:
  9. Congrats! What, no pics of the bikes lined up and the rose petals? :freakin_nuts:
  10. Sucks doesn't it??? :freakin_nuts: Yes it did! Funny you said that. I sent a text to a few DDR friends when we were taking off saying hey check it out- the runway is a huge conveyor belt and our plane DID, in fact, take off! I wanted to give the scenario to the pilot as we walked off the plane and ask him what he thought.
  11. I don't see that as ANYONE'S point of view here. Trash is supposed to be hauled out regardless and properly secured in the bed of your pickup no matter what. Dumpsters are not the answer to a cleaner Dumont. Pack it in, Pack it out! It's not rocket science. I'm not even getting into the whole dumpster agrument here either. There is already a separate thread for that. :freakin_nuts:
  12. I think he meant liquid lunch  I should be there on Saturday unless something comes up and I have to drive up to Salt Lake . That may have to wait though.

    Fuel Prices

You think 3.45 for diesel is bad? Fuel prices in Monterey, CA last weekened....
  14. journalism school??? Anyways, that last pic was taken when we were flyin into Vegas. I think it was the South Point Hotel/ Casino.
  15. Yeah if we had more time we would have. Anna has been there before and has done all that, but this trip was only to visit the aqaurium and do whatever else we had time for. Definitely next time though. I was waiting for someone to say something about that. I always get some looks when I wear that shirt. BP-guy gave it to me. It's funny- when we were at kokomos down in Havasu some mexican guy was giving me crap about it. I didn't take any of his crap though and stood my ground. I just kept asking him if he was AMERICAN and in AMERICA. Alot of people don't get: it doesn't matter what race or ethic background you are- you should still be proud to be an American citizen and appreciate what the border patrol does and protects for our country. Even still...I thought the picture was pretty funny.
  16. Thanks Dan- it was alot of fun
  17. Can you spot Forrest Gump in the pic?
  18. Last weekend Anna and I went to Monterey for her birthday. She's been there before, but this was my 1st time. That place is way nice and lots of fun. We flew in Saturday morning and checked in to our hotel, then went down to check out Old Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row, and the Aquarium. The main reason for our visit was to go to the Aquarium to get a behind the scenes tour of the place since Anna works in the aquarium business. We did so many things in our 2 day visit that it almost felt like we were there for a week. We didn't even feel rushed. After some rest back at our hotel, we went out Sat night and hit up a few pubs and bars. There were live bands at this place called Bullwackers (yeah, thats really the name ) and Sly McFlys. It was pretty cool- we got to party a bit and check out some music while were at it. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is awesome. We saw many different fish, sharks, jelly fish, otters, some birds, and even octopus. The only downfall was that it was full of screaming kids and a few rude people pushing their way to get a closer look at some of the displays. Our behind the scenes tour was pretty sweet though. We got to see alot of the equipment and even check out the great white shark and the black sea turtles from above the tanks. The scenery up there is great....the ocean, the trees, clean beaches, paths to walk, Cannery Row which has so many cool shops and things to see, etc. One of the best moments of the weekend was when Anna and I were walking along the lighted path at night leaving one of the bars down at Cannery Row just playing it by ear. We had no destination, we had a nice little buzz going , were laughing like idiots as we recited almost entire chapters from the movie, Super Troopers , and it began to rain a very light mist. To us it was perfect temperature (mid 60's) and with the rain in our face and smell of the cool clean air from the ocean- we were just plain happy as hell and were having a great time together.
  19. That's enough in return for me. I'll pay it whatever the price. The reason for the fee increase has been discussed on here many times.
  20. We are still waiting for the new fees to be passed by a commitee. The season passes will not be available until those new fees are passes and the permits are printed. I would have to guess late November or early Dec. I am in contact with the BLM and any info will updated and posted on the homepage.
  21. Ed will never learn. ...and I still think that quad is a giant waste of time and money
  22. Oh boy. You read that too literal- I just meant strapped to me in general. Although if were to take off I'd probably wanna be sitting down during flight. But hey, I like pizza!
  23. uhhh NO, but if I had jets strapped to my a$$ I would take the fk off!
  24. I'd have to pass on those guys.
  25. Hey Tim, so did you grab one of those bundles for the brownies this dune season or no?
