I was thinking the same thing. ???? :whacky101:

Let me refresh your memory :whacky101: ..... Sorry Danielle. I really doubt I'll be able to swing it. Work has been slow lately and I just have so much going on between now and October. I've got 2 concerts I'm going to, a buddy's bachelor party IN SAN DIEGO :fro: , 3 days in Costa Mesa for the sand show, a wedding THAT I AM IN and am pretty much been committed to staying at an expensive hotel that whole weekend, then the season kickoff weekend at Dumont less than 2 weeks later. Trust me, I am not happy at all about not being able to go to Coral at all this year. I LOVE riding there. Who knows though...if all goes well I might be able to swing a quick trip with the 2 wheeler that weekend, but I'm not getting my hopes up quite yet. This is not a matter of not "wanting" to tow my hauler down and do a whole weekend. I'm gonna go broke if I keep doing that every single weekend I wanna do something.

Hey Vic... To get it out, I'd try tapping a thin screwdriver between the plug and the case and sort of wedge it in there. Then try turning the plug to loosen it out just a little bit. Tap on the screwdriver a little bit at a time in between turns. That usually works for me to get those out. If you get it out, then take a look at the threads in the case. Alot of times it's just the plug threads that strip out. IF the case threads are damaged, I think you could get away with using a helicoil. Just be extra carefull drilling the hole. Slow the drill speed way down to allow the shavings to fall rather than spitting them up into the motor. Then pour some oil through the motor after you have drilled the hole to make sure you help any drain out that may have gotten in there. Good luck, man.

I heard otherwise. You might wanna check.

I would guess because soapy water containing varies chemicals isn't natural for the environment.

dumont trash concerns
dunefreak replied to Richard Cheese's topic in Dumont Regulations, Safety & BLM
Planet Sand just clarifies that for liability purposes whenever there is any talk on their board about a possible future race that might happen. This thread, http://www.planetsand.com/forums/ubbthread...ge/1#Post601637 , was the only talk I saw about BW and they were just asking if it was gonna happen. I talked to sean10 and I all I can say is that he won't be there, therefore I doubt any Banshee Wars will be taking take place. (He is the guy who puts it on.) -
dumont trash concerns

Yeah I read about the trash left behind at the last event at Glamis. As of now I haven't heard or read about any future Banshee Wars events at Dumont. Where did you read that? And for the record, Banshee Wars AND 4 stroke wars have picked up their trash at the last few events. It was an issue at previous events, but they have since been pretty good about it. -
The seat was fiberglass. It cracked and gave away. To add to that, the intertia of the engine wanting to keep going forward pushed against the seat some as well. He had a harness, but it looked kinda cheesy.
-
He is. He isn't going to try and fix it...no way. It's scrap metal now, minus the tires which are about the only salvagable parts.

Bert's (sanddunessaddict's) uncle recently did some work on this guy's old skool single seater. Then the owner took it to Amargosa Dunes the other day and made the mistake of letting his buddy drive it. I guess the guy was cruising along in 5th gear and went flying off the big razor there. He flew about 145 feet from the top of the hill. The drop was about 90 feet vertically. Luckily he lived. The list of injuries is pretty exptensive though. Bert will post that list up. some blood on the floor They had to cut the top section of the cage to get him out and then they folded it back. The seat blew out on impact as well.
