  1. There were quite a few people at the hill later at night. I thought it was a pretty good turnout. I guess not as many hillshooters show up because none of them want to bring the lights out.
  2. OGP called me earlier and he said the road is a lil bit wash-boarded, but WAY better than recently. I'm leaving my house about 2, see you guys out there.
  3. OK, you are gonna add some unburned fuel to the combustion chamber, then what?
  4. There is a bulletin explaining how the programmers are causing engine damage "by altering air/fuel ratios and injector timing, resulting in excessive cylinder pressure and temperature". I cannot post it all though due to GM copyright and company policy. I'm not gettin anymore into it because I have to go get ready for the dunes right now. See ya tonight.
  5. what do you plan on doing with the fuel that is added? You plan on burning it ...causing more heat. Do you think it isn't gonna burn once it's added?
  6. wtf? Please educate me more on how these pistons break? BTW, I only have a hypertech (on level 2), not an Edge.
  7. Another thing that worked for me once was to hold down the choke manually while cranking and let go if it starts. It is a metal arm with a spring on it.
  8. Try that first then. You are gonna take off the air filter cover. It's real simple, just unclip the 2 or 3 clips, pull the air filter out and hold the throttle plate or choke open and shoot some in there while cranking. You should have a start switch outside on the generator so you don't have to do it from inside. Just don't go overboard and flood it out. Here is where the throat of the carb will be when you take the air filter and cover off.
  9. Did you say you already DID try spraying carb cleaner into the carb or no?
  10. I was just messin with ya with the whole guy. HOWEVER, if you ever crack a piston I can edumacate you on how GM won't warranty it. And I don't care who's truck can beat mine. Most others probably can cause they have more chit into theirs. I don't care. My truck is pretty much stock. It only has exhaust and a mild programmer on it. I didn't buy a 1 ton truck to race. It's to haul my toys out to the dunes. great...so what? Why are you trying to prove stuff to me that I already know of.
  11. ^ yep what he said. Tyler, you should be able to access the carb on a Onan pretty easily. another tip- mine didn't start once and it was because the choke linkage cam screw backed out. (side of teh carb) So when it was supposed to be choked, the choke plate was wide open not allowing it to start.
  12. This is how I read that statement: With having lower EGT after whatever he did, he was ABLE to add more fuel because his EGT's were low enough to allow for more fuel. I don't know the whole conversation or where that is copied from, but from that quote right there, that's what it sounds like he meant. Usually if you add fuel, you aren't gonna lower your egt's. More fuel or timing usually means more heat.
  13. Black smoke kicks a$$! but seriously, you have a programmer on your truck so why are you concerned about it? It is probaby normal. Each setting changes fuel and timing therefore changing the amount of smoke you are gonna have. The Edge programmer even has a setting for smoke. I wouldn't sweat it. Why? Is the truck section so busy with diesel threads that you can't find topics?
  14. Yeah yeah yeah We knew you weren't going. You guys suck Wish you could make it. Now go punch yourselves in the FACE
  15. Right on, Mike. Let's go dunin!!!!! Hope to see ya there.
  16. To al those NOT going this weekend, here's what you should do........... 1) punch yourself in the face because your're not going 2) click here and buy one of those shirts. 3) punch yourself in the face again because you aren't going Sat night. 4) hang out until we get back on Sunday and wait patiently for us to be done having fun at the dunes and then come home to tell you all about it.
  17. derrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. It's kinda a matter of preference and whether you are a 2 or 4 stroke kinda guy. Both bikes would work, but I'd reccomend the 2 stroke mostly because if you are going to be riding it in the dunes as well it will have way more power than the 250f. There's a couple 250's going for pretty cheap right now in the classfieds.
  19. RELAX??? you must have taken my post wrong or something.
  20. huh? How's that? You don't have a pic entered?
