  1. Yuck! Lol That in between stage of wet and dry makes for some funky sand.
  2. Here's Jodi's video that she just posted to IG. Yep, definitely a bit wet out there but it looks way better than my work today! BTW, Mike's new X3 looks PLUSH on that landing.
  3. I'm sure it's just in the headlights. Otherwise they'd have their hands full.
  4. Looks like rain today. So much for that dry sand!
  5. Haha that's kinda what I was thinking. Here's your dune report from Ken Block. The sand is looking good.
  6. Check out who was out at D in the new Ford Raptor filming with Motor Trend a couple days ago.
  7. Yeah it should be a good weekend. I'd head out if I wasn't working. Might just have to make up for that with back to back weekends afterwards. Hmm
  8. You know how to fix that, Jack.
  9. Has anyone been out recently? Just curious if the sand has dried out and smoothed out since New Years. I haven't seen anyone out there lately.
  10. All the pics show now. Yeah, in my experience those MSD wires are made too long. Now that the pics show up I see what you are talking about though. It's the boots that are touching the headers. Those boots on the MSD wires are bigger too. Unless you go with a different wire, they'll burn through. Either use some of the plug wire heat wrap sleeves or maybe even try a set of factory wires. They are slimmer boots than the MSD and will work just as good performance-wise.
  11. Man those clouds were wicked! Cool videos. That "watch me" mode is nice and smooth. Thanks for sharing
  12. Some of your pics don't show. Looks like it's coming together though. As for the spark plug wires, I've seen covers for them that are a heat wrap material. Those wires are way long though. Normally they are much shorter and shouldn't have any problems laying on the exhaust. Are they MSD wires or something?
  13. I would try 4 the Truck. They install hitches on trucks and have a full fab shop so I don't see why they couldn't.
  14. No. They are season passes, not annual passes. They are good from Oct 2016 through the end of Sept 2017. Then the new season starts and you would need a 17/18 season pass starting in Oct.
  15. I thought it would be cool to have a new slider for the site header. Let me know what you think. Badass? Too much? Distracting? Nice change? I can switch it up from time to time as we get cool new dune pics that are header worthy.

The 2017 Las Vegas Jeep Club Jamboree is coming up on President's Day Weekend February 18-19 at the Dumont Dunes in California. This will be another great event with the traditional Hill Climbs on Saturday & 300' Sand Drags on Sunday. The Hill Climb event will feature a full slate of classes listed below as well as a new Slalom Hill course for the Jeeps and Trucks to compete in. Sunday's Sand Drags will compete in the same format as the 2016 event. There will once again be Cash Payouts in the Pro Boost, Pro Index 1 (3.95 Index), and Pro Index 2 (4.25 Index) categories. These classes featured some incredible action last season. This is shaping up to be a great weekend of racing at the Dumont Dunes. For more info on this event, contact Shawn Thompson 702-378-3571 or Dave Stidham at 702-888-2498. http://www.nationalsanddragnews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=764
  17. Heads up to anyone heading out this morning. I-15 is shut down in both directions at Baker due to a standoff. http://abc7.com/news/both-directions-of-15-freeway-shut-near-baker-due-to-standoff/1689437/
  18. Although New Years didn't draw a huge crowd like other holidays (just over 5000 visitors), the duners that showed up this weekend came to party and hit the sand! The dunes were very busy on Saturday making for some choppy, damp sand. This might have been why so many vehicles were seen being towed back to camp. Wet sand is never easy on equipment and always breaks stuff when we least expect it. Only a couple minor injuries were reported at the ranger station, 2 walk-in and 2 were transported. New Years Eve celebrations started Saturday. Some started early while others kicked off the festivities with an annual tradition of burning their Christmas Trees. Fire always gets the party started! As the countdown to midnight began, fireworks filled the sky to celebrate the new year. Sunday was quiet and brought some nice weather. It didn't last long though. Heavy winds came in with a vengeance and blew throughout the night. Hopefully it will be enough to clean things up for MLK weekend. That sand needs it. Happy New Year, everyone! 2017 Thanks to everyone who submitted the great photos and dune reports. Trip Reports Dumont New Years Photo Gallery submitted via social media
  19. Exactly what I was thinking when I made my post. It's the overzealous cops/ rangers that make it difficult for the BLM to keep a good relationship with duners.
  20. I guess this is a thing now. I'm pretty sure if this happened in Glamis, that guy would be in jail and the RZR would be impounded. Interesting how sometimes law enforcement is this lenient and then other times they want to search you and act like your getting arrested for no good reason.
  21. Stopping trucks/Rvs or OHVs? If it was trucks/ RVs, it was probably for speeding.
  22. 2016 wasn't the best of years as we lost a ton of good people. I even lost a couple of friends myself. However I try to optimistic and look back at the good. Anna & I still have our health, family, friends, and jobs that allow us to do quite a bit of what we love in life. I wish you all a healthy and happy 2017! Cheers to the new year. How did 2016 treat you? I saw this on Instagram and found it funny...
  23. Since I'll be in Glamis this weekend, I'll be relying on you guys for the Dumont updates! So don't forget to post up some dune reports. Thanks and everyone have a great weekend. Stay safe. Happy New Year! http://www.dumontduneriders.com/conditions/
