  1. ok maybe 4 miles, but it's not that much closer. who cares :ahhhhh: :ahhhhh:
  2. Yeah it was probably related. Bert also saw a bunch of cops going about 100+ mph down Van Wagenen this morning on his way to work. He said they came sliding around the corner like in the movies! :ahhhhh: :ahhhhh:
  3. This was about 5 miles miles from home! ...awesome. :ahhhhh: Damn Hendertuckians :ahhhhh: from Fox 5's website: HENDERSON, Nev. -- A police officer was shot in the leg Wednesday morning after responding to a domestic dispute involving an armed gunman, police said. The officer's injuries are not expected to be life-threatening, but a SWAT team and small army of officers are still in a stand-off at the Henderson residence and believe the gunman may have a hostage, a police spokesman said. The conflict, which began about 7:15 a.m., prompted authorities to cordon off an area near the city's downtown. The area around Van Wagenen Street and Greenway Road is blocked off while authorities try to contact the man and talk him into surrendering, according to a Henderson police spokesman. http://www.fox5vegas.com/news/13412097/detail.html
  4. NEXT TRT MEETING June 5, 2007 10 AM BLM Barstow Field Office Conference Room 2601 Barstow Road, Barstow, CA 92311 For more information call (760) 252-6000 I just thought I would post this info for the next TRT meeting. I doubt I can make it again due to my job requiring my presence , but I'll see what I can do. Hopefully we hear word about the "paved" road and "creek crossing to-be" if any plans are scheduled for work on them.
  5. These don't have anything to do with beer other than the fact that they get me in the mood to party and drink alot. Anything from Sublime or Slightly Stoopid for me. Other than that... Deftones: My Own Summer (Shove it) Taproot: Again & Again, I, Poem, Now, etc....those are just a few of my favorites from Taproot. I love every one of their songs though. Korn: Got the Life, Ya'll wanna Single Mudvayne: Happy Stone Sour: 30/30 150 :mic:
  6. I never said I passed it. I got about one minute into that game and couldn't take it anymore. After a day of work I don't like to have to actually USE my brain when I get home.
  7. GVWR? or dry weight? If that is your GVWR you may want to rethink all that weight you put in it. Or say screw it like all the rest of us do. Just about EVERYONE is overweight when it comes to their toyhaulers.
  8. I'm over it!!! That game sucks!
  9. Good to hear all you guys had a great trip. I really wish I could have gone, but then again my Dumont day trip was awesome. I'm also really glad to hear that Don's car did good with the new turbo too! I'm happy for ya, Don!
  10. really? Damn... mine did. I wouldn't spend the extra money on a bigger intercooler. You don't really have an EGT problem in my opinion. Besides I have read that a bigger intercooler (ie: the Banks intercooler) doesn't lower your EGT's any. Read this thread... http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90652
  11. Damn that means your trailer loaded the way you had weighed approximately 16500 lbs! What kind of trailer do you have again?
  12. Oh and the best way to lower your EGT's (from what I have heard) is to ditch your cat. converter. I haven't done that yet on mine because it's not necessarily "legal" in Nevada.
  13. Roy I haven't replaced a turbo yet (at work) due to a failure from heat. (actually I have only changed one once due to a mis-diagnosis by someone else, lol) I think that is crazy considering how many "over programmed" DMaxes are out there. I have an 05 Duramax, Hypertech on level 2, AFE intake, and Banks cat back exhaust. I leave mine on level 2 no matter what, whether I am driving to work or towing the hauler. I tow my 34 ft toyhauler (probably 13000-14000 lbs loaded) by the pyro. I can bury the needle past 1600 if I wanted to. (but I never do) Once my my EGT's reach around 1400/1450 degrees on the big grades then I back out and keep them from going higher and it still pulls good. I usually keep them there and haven't had any problems at all. Many diesel guys have told me that 1400-1450 is just fine especially for semi short periods of time. I had some guy even tell me on dieselplace.com that he has run 1400+ degrees for 15 minutes straight with no problems. I wouldn't push it that high for that LONG, but you are safe below 1450 in shorter spurts. You gotta remember turbo temps are gonna be a couple hundred degrees LOWER than your manifold temp. Also: Hope that helps.
  14. You must contact the Bartsow BLM for a vendor permit application. Barstow BLM (760) 252-6000 some info on permits... http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/fo/barstow/permits.html
  15. Vote now! The winners pic will be posted on the homepage after June 3rd. (BTW, I think next month's entries will have to be limited to 10 or so )
  16. yeah we took it easy this trip. We wanted to get back in one piece with no injuries. haha
  17. Wish I could have made it, Caleb. Glad you had a good time.
  18. a few "observations" -the drive through Pahrump seems like an eternity , but not to Bert -watching Ultimate X while sippinng on refreshments in the back seat makes the drive better -summer rides are great -even half a day of a sand fix puts me in a great mood -always bring extra beer- you'll drink it -it's close to noon on a day at the end of May and it's getting hot.......check it out- WHO CARES! We're in the dunes and not at work! -the entrance road still sucks and is wash boarded to hell -the river was DRY -the south pole was a lil bent over but we fixed her up -someone destroyed bathroom 10 -did I mention the sand was smooth as hell? yep- it was! -it was great to get our friend, Mike, back out to the dunes after almost 2 years! Riding with some of our original crew felt great. -we didn't dune as crazy as we usually do, but it was just as much fun -Mike had to go "talk to someone about a horse" -Aaron (SandYFZ) complains alot but it just wouldn't be the same if he didn't good times, Aaron! -Bert's medium duty kicks a$$, but the back seat gets old after a while
  19. It was a great day. I wish you could have been there.

Aaron testing out his new stock 450 ... Bert telling me I'm number one after jump starting his new quad with my old Craptor
  23. I just strolled in and I must say...today was an awesome day. It felt good to get some riding in. We got there about 6:30 AM- a tad later than expected, but not too bad. The weather was gorgeous, the sand was soooooo smooth, the razors were SHARP and STEEP, and it was some good times. Jim (sand~snake) had a head gasket problem about 10 minutes into the 1st ride. He was done for the day. Good thing we brought beer! The rides were great. We met up with (forgot his name) a guy from Dirt Wheels magazine out at the north pole. Ken's Colors told us he'd be out there. Him and his buddy had some pretty nice bikes. He snapped off some pics of us and said he'd submit them for the magazine. We'll have to see if that pans out. We rode for a few hours. We went out about 3 or 4 times and were done riding about 12:00. It was getting a little warm, but was bearable in my book. Bert's new DS had a battery issue. It just died and battery was fried. I guess DS650's have a problem with overcharging or something. hmm Back to the dealer it goes. Woody (wsky70) met up with us out there too. That was way cool. Good times, Woods! All together it was a great day. We shared some good laughes like always with some good company. Some pics and an "observation list" to come.....
