  1. Today I just read an article that Brice showed me from the Pahrump newspaper about these "impacts" on Tecopa from Dumont users. I imagine that these are the same exact issues you are talking about, Terry. I must say some of them are that can be easily handled, but some ARE of concern. I currently take the Tecopa route because it is the shortest and most direct route to Dumont from Vegas. I also like to stop and dump my tanks in their streets....just kidding lol.......at the campground dump station. It is very nice and conveinant, but if it is causing a problem with Tecopa and will somehow pose as a threat to close Dumont in any way I will change my route. I have never like going through Baker. It seems to take FOREVER going that way. I could try Pahrump next time I suppose.
  2. Don't sweat it, Cole. It will be worth the wait that much more. The sand and the rest of us (DDR) aren't going anywhere.
  3. , you're crazy, Cole. I don't have any hats or stickers left, but I will hook you up with a bunch of DDR shirts and beer fo free just for serving for our country.
  4. yep, saw that too on page 72. Hey Travis, isn't it almost time to sell all that stuff? It's almost like old news now. You gotta have something newer than that old stuff for "badboy status" these days. Looks good though. I wonder if he'll chime in again after being away for a while just like he did last time.
  5. It doesn't matter what car it is in, a Busa is a Busa. A stock Hayabusa is about 175/180 HP with no turbo. With a turbo, you can get anywhere from 240 (on about 5-7 lbs of boost) to 300 HP (10+ lbs) on average.
  6. I did! I broke the quad trying so hard. Stupid game! I'm done....I'm over it
  7. some pics of the marine type speakers they mount up top...
  8. TT: driveway drinkin...my place to all the usual suspects...are you in?
  9. not at all, Tim! Keep the pics and progress comin!
  10. true, but then again today this one popped up ( Today, 02:06 PM ) Just buy a Volkswagon Beetle and be done with it all!
  11. After reading the article, I wished that they had mentioned Friends of Dumont Dunes (FoDD) but all they mentioned about saving the dunes and helping with the fight was to join CORVA and ASA. It was a pretty cool article though. It described the way Dumont was back in the day. There was no entrance road whatsoever, climbing to the top of the plateau was a huge challenge and usually required a 4WD get up, there were no signs coming in from the highway, etc.
  12. How the hell can you make it to level 2? I don't have the patience to get to the third or fourth HILL on level ONE let alone even get to the 2nd LEVEL!
  13. ok, that's what I thought, but you started this thread about minis AFTER the one about Trick or Monster. Sounds like you were thinking and posting in reverse huh? Anyways... like I said most people don't end up stepping up to a V8 car after having a Busa. The Busa cars actually give you certain thrill and rush that the V8 cars don't offer. just my .02 There are many pros and cons. It's all about what you really want in the end.
  14. yeah I saw...I took em down They didn't "show" anything, but it still wasn't very appropriate IMO. Sorry.
  15. Hey Cole...If you want me to I'll close/ lock "Cole's Corner" so you can pick up where you left off when you get back!
  16. Umm...how bout a going away get-together for Cole? Damn, the 4th? That's right around the corner!
  17. Huh? This still doesn't make sence to me. So, you're saying you (your parents, family, or whoever?) are looking at a Monster Rail or Trick car, but now you want a Busa but don't wanna step up to what you wanted in the first place. Most people I know that have mini's never "step up" to a V8 car because they don't do anything more for them that the busa won't do already.
  18. huh? why? I was referring to Anna's job at Shark Reef.
  19. Check it out... sandseeker (Brice) brought this to my attention yesterday. In an article, "From Past to Present" about Dumont Dunes in the latest issue of Sand Addiction Magazine, we got a plug at the end of the article.
  20. "out of commision" I'll shutup now. That's good to hear that you had your surgery already and it went well, Steve. Heal up quick and if you get bored and wanna throw back a beer or 17 just give me a ring.
  21. There you have it. Do we all wish it had been done right in the first place? Of course, but it wasn't and now it will have to be fixed. I love the point that they were more concerned with access than perfection so that we could at least still use the road while finding a solution. Vicki That is great news, Vicki. Thanks for sharing it and informing everybody. That would be a great idea. Keep in mind though that Don & Ellen go up north until about September then they will be back at Dumont for the season.
