  1. Thanks. Yes the tires had some pretty good bite and hooked really well. I never got over to comp. I somehow never really made it over there. :mc_smiley: I doubt I'd be THAT fast up comp since it isn't as fast as the turboed cars, but I bet it would still produce some good #'s. I'm not much of a hill shooter though. I like to dune.
  2. I think that was just Jon (Sandemon) being a smarta$$. He jokes like that sometimes.
  3. Jon, 1bad4fiddy and sanddunesaddict are right. There are alot of lifted Tahoes and trucks in the BLM camp. Does our fee money pay for such things? Why do they need trucks with big tires and fancy wheels at the dunes?
  4. Cole uploaded some video clips of the new car in Dumont Happenings. Here are the links for the clips... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmaszHhbISQ a couple lil wheelies http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61VQktIol4I http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lBBUfg-Jx0 Thanks Cole
  5. ^^ those are some good ones Another new favorite quote from Fear & Loathing I noticed this weekend..."it was time for an agonizing reappraisal of the whole situation"
  6. Great pics, Mike! It was some good times. That's good news about the CV. That thing sounded nasty as hell. As for a Glamis trip..definitley. I wanted to do one with Terry at the end of this month but I just can't swing it. Definitely next season. BTW, the guy who pulled you out was Big Rick. That was very cool of him to do. It would have been hell trying to get it out with a truck.
  7. more observations... -wingnut's Dodge and Ragdoll's Ford are renamed as DRV's (Dune Rescue Vehicles) -Don29Palms actually wore a shirt this weekend, but couldn't keep his pants on come onnnnn!!!!. -sandseeker's buggy is almost like having a pickup when you need to haul stuff, lol -cheese goes good on just about anything -atvluv (Tracy) sounds like a 1-900 operator after many drinks :jester: -Crowdog saw too much skin everytime he walked over to my hauler
  8. I too wish we could have gotten a run in together. Definitely next time though. The first cruise in the car was awesome. I unloaded it Wed night when I got there and took it just outside of camp to see how it felt. (I didn't want to hit the dunes until daylight) The first time I nailed the throttle I saw the front suspension completely unload, I got pushed back in my seat and off it went. I was like "wow...awesome". What a feeling! I can't wait to get back out there with it. also: Nannette Short from Short Sand Cars called me today after reading this thread and wanted to hear about everything. She was thrilled that I was happy with the car. They really take pride in their cars and ensuring customer satisfaction. She is sending me a brand new light asap to replace the one that broke and Larry is gonna call me as soon as he talks with Intelidash to figure out the low oil pressure readings on the dash. THAT'S customer service. Thanks again Short Sand Cars! :jester: You guys are great!
  9. I think that Bud Light car is really nice, Tim. I know it would be a nice cruiser, but I don't think you'll be happy w/ an LS1. I'd say definitely drive it before you buy it if thats the route you decide to go.
  10. I think for the money you should buy this one... http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/i...?showtopic=3749 besides, I was gonna have the official Bud Light car in camp!

    YNOT CLONE

yeah it looks just like his, huh! I saw that on there the other week.
  12. Thanks for the pics and DDR's plug on your site, Jon!
  13. oh yeah thats right. I guess I didn't remember it because we didn't actually stop and hang out like we usually do.
  14. Yeah I wish I could have gotten some action photos of the car, but I was too busy driving it and having a blast too worry about those kind of pics this time around. I'll try and get some in a few weeks.
  15. Yes...as ISBB said the original plan WAS gonna be at 11:30, but after all the things going on and people everywhere it was next to impossible to make that happen. We were gonna have Terry announce it and have the pic right after the raffle, but many people had already left the area. Sooooo, not having much left for options we figured everyone would just show up at the south pole and we'd just take it there. Sucks I guess a few groups forgot about that too. There was a pretty good turnout though and I hope Crowdog's pic turned out ok.
  16. Yep...good job to the crew Food was good and the line went fast. Simple and easy
  17. I never really gave much of a report from the cleanup other than the usual "observations" so here's how my trip went. I had a blast. Gettin there early as hell (Wed night) made for a nice lil vacation. I'm glad wingnut and Ragdoll were able to come out early. They definitley kept the laughs going. The cleanup was a great turnout. It was really nice in the morning, but got pretty warm after 12 ish. Terry did a great job. I'm sure it was quite a challenge to keep things moving with all those prizes to get rid of. I had a good time watching the festivities and got to meet alot of peeps from the site. It was hard keeping track of who was who though. There were ALOT of DDR peeps around in the crowd. The sand was really smooth this last weekend! I got some serious seat time in the new car. It does way better than my last rail! Thanks to Randog for coming Sunday AM and forcing my a$$ to go on a ride. It was hard to get moving, but the ride was well worth it with his crew. After that I was dead tired though. Sorry to sandseeker for not having it in me for one more ride that day. I was done. I duned a whole bunch but after I thought about it- I found out I never once went up comp or to the north pole. I had a great time camping with the Glamis peeps that I rarley get to see...Crowdog, SailAway, Bryan, Karl, Sandemon, Mike330R... You are all very nice peeps and chillen around the fire Friday night was nice. Crowdog it was great to finally meet you in person. The south pole meet/ greet was good times. I'm glad it was when it was because like ynot mentioned, the SHADE was nice! B) Good times everyone and good to see you all throughout the wekend. I'm already looking forward to next year's cleanup!
  18. I'm curious as to what you gave her now, Mike.
  19. Yup, Hayabusa I never really payed too much attention to the highest speed that I set in the car. I do believe I cruised over the whoops about 65 though. :smoker:
  20. No, we were actually there for what seemed like quite a while, Kelly.
  21. 168 bags of trash collected by DDR members! Good job, everyone. :bash: It's funny too because everyone I talked to asked me how the bags were being counted and I said they mark them at the dumspter for whatever group you are in. Then they said, "really? cause I never told anyone anything, I just threw my bags in the dumpster and took the raffle tickets". We probably had EVEN more! :smoker: It doesn't matter who wins though. Alot of trash was picked up and that's what counts. So now do we pass the trophy and rotate who gets to hang on to it?
  22. Not bad at all. I didn't eat ANY sand all weekend and they turn pretty good too. I like em.
