I would definitley stay away from the holiday weekends at Dumont and go when there are far less people there. Keep a close eye on your kids and just take extreme care when riding on the bigger dunes. Most accidents and deaths that happen out there are from lack of experience and people using bad judgement. You just have to respect the dunes and never ride above your abilities. Dumont can be very safe if you have a good head on your shoulders. Have fun and be safe out there! :monkeedance2: Do you want to add a pic in your signature or under your screen name (an avatar)? Yeah today got a little warm every time I went out to the back lot at work to bring in a vehicle. I had to take my jacket off...pheww it was warm!

Good to hear you are doing ok, Jeff. I hope all goes well with your recovery. I know howfrustrating it can be wanting to get back out asap, but you do have to heal properly before you get back on the bike. Get better and be patient- the sand isn't going anywhere and neither are we.

The turnoff is about 34 miles past Baker on HWY 127. You might get stuck behind a slow motorhome or truck, so give or take 30-45 minutes. It's only a 2 lane road.
