  1. Exactly, Jon. I always hear people talk about 650, 750 HP Ls1's. :shocked2: I think they call that "Glamis horsepower"
  2. Thanks for the report Mike! That really sucks for the guy on the quad. Hopefully he isn't paralysed. That's just horrible. Good of you to help everyone out. :shocked2: It's gonna be a madhouse out there this week.
  3. oops! So what happened....did he flip after hitting that and then it caught fire I'm guessing? <---Travis Pastrana in that picture :shocked2:
  4. WTF? What happened? Looks like somehow he ran outta talent....unlike this guy---> :shocked2:
  5. I was just wondering where everyone is gonna be camped this weekend. I was thinking I may cruise by and say hi to some peeps. Just wanted to be sure where everyone was gonna be first. Their usual spots? I can't wait...just a few more days! :shocked2:

  9. I have seen that Shrek car like a million times out at the north pole. That's cool you met up w/ Tony. Did he camp w/ you guys? That sucks you blew your bike up. What happened to it?
  10. come on, Bert. I was gonna say something too, but let's be civil ok?
  11. haha. You are talking to ME about fat? j/k It was more of an exagerration, but Halloween 04 (I think it was) it was that big. It took a long a$$ time to walk to the fire. The circle was HUGE.
  12. ok, cool. I now have at least half by longbed FULL. We should be ok with what you, me, and everyone else in the group are bringing out.
  13. sanddunesaddict should be chiming in when he sees this topic. He is an expert at breaking VW trannies.
  14. If you want I can pick up whatever you've got tonight, Jim. Then bring out whatever you pick up when you cruise back out Friday.
  15. first off, welcome to the forum! As for speeding near camps, I think people should be courteous and also obey the speed limit of 15 mph near any camp while riding on the flats. BUT, what about weekends like the picture below when there are only a handful of people out there? Are you gonna go 15 mph across the flats to get to the dunes when you are thousands of yards away from them? Yes, you have to be very careful because of the firepits, but those are nothing compared to those huge berms that blend in with with the sand. All people have to do is make them a little less dangerous by grabbing a shovel and smooth them out a bit after the kids are done riding and they are packing up to go home. If people did this along with trying to pay a little more attention while riding the flats, we would't be talking about this right now because nobody would die from accidents caused by them.
  16. (760) 807-6377 here's the ad, Tim. Buy it!!!
  17. Well I have room for a few big pieces if he has any. Anna & I found some scrap lumber and some cut up tree branches (small sized stuff) today while we were out today. We loaded up about a 1/4 or 1/2 my truck with some. Let me know if he has any logs that might burn a lil longer and I should have some room in my truck for them. Where is it at?
  18. Sounds like a short to power somewhere. You could just keep the breaker off till you get it fixed I suppose. It DOES turn the fan off when the breaker is off though right? This way the fan isn't running and freezing your kid.
  19. Oh, and mine did that one time. I turned the AC/heater circuit breaker off and then on. It hasn't done it since though.
  20. well yes, we were talking about the guy going off the top of comp in this situation. I suppose we have to go with what you THINK. Maybe the car WAS going almost 70. All I was doing was stating a fact that sandcars go over 40 in the dunes. That's what you have to remember. And yes....I did read before I wrote comments too. So what is your point here? You said a helmet would have helped, but you agree at higher speeds they can also break one's neck like OGP said. So...we all need helmets because sandrails are dangerous, but we also have to put on head and neck retraints now when we go over 40 mph? or do we?
