Yep I had no prob w/ dust, noise, or trouble sleeping either. Well, actually the dust was bad Saturday, but that's cause there was no wind at Dumont. I think it was bad EVERYWHERE that afternoon/ evening.

What does that have to do with this topic? Besides, maybe THAT'S why I get all these general Dumont questions and rediculous comments in my e-mail about DUMONT (instead of for the site which is what the form is for). I thought they were coming in from the comment form on the "contact us" page! Trust me I know. That is the FIRST thing I thought of, especially seeing that the e-mail address had nothing to do with Esquire mag. I am not going to pursue it.

No 4WD? Come on! And I don't care what it SAYS it is rated for, I wouldn't tow a toyhauler with an SUV, especially a fuggin 1/2 ton. Suspension on SUV's is just too soft for me to be comfortable towing a heavy a$$ tall trailer like a toyhauler. Suit yourself though....just stay away from me! I once followed a Titan on the way home from Dumont. He was towing a 21-25 ft SUPERLITE and he was all over the place. I didn't even want to pass him on a 4 lane road because I thought I'd put him in the desert on accident from the wind break while passing.

sounds good, Jeff. Don29palms and I were talking about it the other day. It doesn't matter exactly where as long as it's in the general vicinty of the spot we are usually in like on the season kickoff weekend (just before bathroom 6 on the right) or near the finger (just past it). Thanksgiving is usually pretty packed every year in that area (even pretty early), so just pick wherever and let us know. Do you get cel svc out there? Maybe once you get settled you can call me and I'll post up & let everyone know where we'll be.

What did some say ether? Well "the prez" doesn't really give a sh*t when we have it nor does he hold any responsibilty for when other things happen, where we camp, etc etc. I'm over it. 1st off, welcome to the site. We aren't about much more than a website for ALL of Dumont peeps. Sometimes we get as many peeps together from the board to meet up for dune rides, trips, sometimes potluck BBQ's, and SOMETIMES some of this .

While all these responses are funny as hell, I don't think I am gonna pursue this any. Think about it... you get a big name magazine out there. A bunch of these foo foo peeps that don't know chit about the dunes start going out there. Does Dumont really need any more publicity? Do we want more people that don't already know anything about Dumont to KNOW about Dumont? It's getting crowded enough out there. All we need is a bunch of rich metrosexual poopdiks cruising around in sandrails and saying "sssssssuper....look at all the ssssssssand!!!! " I don't know ONE duner that reads that magazine. At first this sounded pretty cool, but the more I think of it it doesn't sound like something I am interested in. Besides, DDR doesn't need any publicity or money to be the best damn Dumont site...it already is! I know they might do it regardess if DDR helps them or not, but I don't think we should condone it.

I wouldn't do it. I would like to know my truck could tow whatever is behind it more than "ok". Think of situations like a big a$$ semi passing you at a high rate of speed, hitting a big dip that you didn't see, or a towing a 26ft toyhauler on a real windy day with that thing..... . If anything I'd stay under 21 feet...IF that big at all.
