I should be there Easter weekend. Our group doesn't have too many kids nor is it mellow at times. :icon_twisted: But your welcome to camp w/ us if you want. As for getting stuck, just stay back 100-200 feet from the finger dunes and you should be ok. It is fairly packed.

More than likely- Memorial weekend

Over the cleanup weekend as we were cleaning up and getting ready to take off a very respectable guy walked up to say hello to us and find out what DDR is all about. (He saw our banner) His name is Don. Him & his wife, Ellen live out at Dumont in the winter time. They are a retired couple out of Oregon who are volunteers for Dumont that help keep the bathrooms clean, pickup trash, help the BLM w/ emergencies, and educate duners of Dumont w/ a wealth of information about not only Dumont but the Mojave Desert as well. They can tell you about some real good trails in the area. I wish I had a chance to go over to their camp w/ duniemonkie but I had a bunch to load up before the bad weather rolled in late Sunday. They busted out the photo album and told her some very interesting stories. They would like everyone to stop by next time you are out at Dumont and say hi and see what they are all about. They have some interesting facts about the amount of visitors Dumont gets each season and how the funds are being used. Ask them about that! It is something that needs to be addressed and Dumont Dune Riders might be the ones who can get the ball rolling w/ what his plan is. So please...next time you are out at Dumont stop by his camp and say hello and thanks. They put in alot of hard work for Dumont which needs to be recognized. (They are the camp near bathroom 10 with a big motorhome and orange fence around their camp.)

Dealers overflowing with Z450 Suzuki Quads???
dunefreak replied to Ross and Alice's topic in General Chat
Yeah that new Zuki 450 IS pretty badass! Here's Joe doing a trick in his riding Uggs! -
ARE YOU GUYS TALKING OUT GOING TO DUMONT OR THE SAND DRAGS? Remember the topic? I am not being a smartass..just really wondering if you'll be at Dumont.
-
you got it jms  Oh yeah, sorry Dave I forgot to thank you for that. THANKS A BUNCH! Those were friggin tasty! Very good job! Keep up the good work Mr. DDR chef! You rock. :fro:

Joe I am gonna try and make it out that weekend Friday thru Sat late afternoon (because Anna has those tickets for Saturday night). If I can't make Friday I will at least get out there EARLY as hell Saturday and stay as late as possible for the day. Gotta get some time on the car and see how she does. Tim: I may make it out for the whole weekend on the 7th-9th as well. I'll keep in touch w/ you.

^^WTF is that!!!!? :shocked2:
-
No No No radio ads! There is already enough people that come out to Dumont! We don't need to get anymore people out there that don't go already! :shocked2: I think flyers at shops and places of similar interest would work as well as the sign at Dumont. You know ISBB & I will do whatever we can and get info up on DDR as we did this last cleanup trip. Let us know if there is anything else we can do here at DDR.
-
I think a banner or sign at Dumont on weekends before the cleanup to inform people that it is coming up would help.
-
no, but I did see you and crd450's names on the door of the mailbox. Where and what was the message?
-
Ok after re-reading this- it was a kinda inaccurate stereotype. Not all these guys w/ that bling are like that. I'll give you that, Trav- but lets get back to the subject at hand here- the people that didn't pickup trash (whether they have 250K coaches and 100K sandrails or a Maaco dirtbike and a tarp for a tent).
-
Dude you're all over the place w/ this one. :shocked2:
-
geez...I didn't mean to piss you off. I can't seem to get my point across in writing, so I'll stay outta this one. Sorry I started this thread. :shocked2:
-
:shocked2: We'll talk whenever I come by for my gauges.
-
yeah pick up as in BUY! These things are getting expensive even WITH the hook up w/ Jesse @ J&J Vinyl! Just wait till the shirt order goes in too. :shocked2: $$$$
-
Trav I don't really think rcjunky3 was referring to you, just some other people that have some long travel rails that went blasting past his kid. He wasn't really bad mouthing anyone as I read it.
-
Trav you should become a DDR sticker dealer. :headbang: Custom Shop & DDR workin together helpin each other out. :headbang:
-
Very well said, rcjunky3. I agree. People had to see the huge banners and SU truck and trailer! Not only that, but the huge crowd that gathered around it too....
-
I couldn't tow it far because the sides kept falling open, but it worked great for hauling firewood in camp and bags of trash to the dumpsters. The kids had fun hauling each other around camp at night too. :headbang: It was kinda scarey looking though: Little crazy Charlie had it hooked up to his Banshee w/ a couple kids in it! :headbang:

Money shouldn't be the drive for people to help keep their favorite place to ride trash free and more important: open! There was a good turn out despite the amount of people that didn't help though. It was just something that bothered me so I figured I'd get it off my chest and post it up.
