  1. Hey what's up Rick. For buggy roundup we all camp together so it's easier to coordinate rides. We park across the road from bathroom 10 but just east of bathroom 6. I'll get a map and more details posted up soon. We'd love to have you join us!
  2. There's a nice breeze blowing and it feels great because it's about 84 degrees still. The camp area has quite a few duners already. There's a steady stream of haulers pulling in now. I haven't been out in the sand yet but it's a little damp underneath the surface and seems a little choppy already. It's going to be tore up out there this weekend but I don't even care! Let's dune.
  3. Those are what I ended up picking up. Same ones I got years ago. At $86 each you can't beat it.
  4. You got it, dude! We'll roll over after lunch.
  5. Comp Hill action varies throughout the weekend. You can always count on a crowd on Friday night and Saturday night shortly after dinnertime and usually goes until midnight or later. You don't want to miss @b370's RZR creation this year Saturday night. Him and his crew are the ones who did the Flintstones car last year and the Kia hamster car commercial the year before. I'm not giving away what they did this year, but trust me...when you see it, you'll know it's him and his crew at it again. It's gonna be awesome! Trick or Treating will be Saturday night. Expect to see trick or treaters going camp to camp usually as soon as it gets dark. Vendor row is always there. I've noticed it's busiest around lunch time and just before the sun goes down. @sand chick & @Mike @ GTP OFF ROAD could probably give you a little better idea though since they are vendors.
  6. I got word from @vegas style tonight that the helicopter already showed up. Let's hope it wasn't needed. He said there were trucks with lights flashing coming in from the dunes. No other details at this time. Hopefully they are ok. It's a reminder to be careful out there. Stay safe this weekend, guys.
  7. I don't think the rangers check (or care that much) about the helmet approval rating or type that much. I think as long as you look like you know the rules and have something on your head, you're good. I know a bunch of SxS friends wear non-DOT helmets and they've never had issues.
  8. Dumont holiday season pass....CHECK. Toys prepped, shined up and that cool new flag is ready to mount up as soon as it rolls out of the trailer...CHECK. Funny costume & trick or treat candy for the kids...CHECK. $500 worth of food and booze plus half the house loaded up in the RV for a 3 day trip to the sandbox...CHECK. What else you could possibly need for a few days of epic fun with your friends and family at Dumont? Your head! Don't leave home without it. I've seen it year after year. People are so amped up about the first big weekend at Dumont that they tend to overlook some simple things that might save their life. 1. Protect your dome! Always wear a helmet, even in side x sides. They save lives. Besides, it's the law out there. 2. Don't get ejected and run over! Buckle up even if you are just hopping over to another camp. Accidents often happen when we are least expecting it. 3. Keep your head on a swivel. Crashing hurts! Halloween is very busy and people come out of nowhere. Look out for each other more than normal. 4. Nobody likes a showboat. Yes, going fast and wheelies are awesome! I love them both. However, leave them for the dunes, not the camp area or congested areas like Comp or Banshee Hill. 5. Dunes & drinks only go well together around the campfire. Think you are a professional drinker and you can still drive carefully? Think again. Your judgement is always impaired when you've had a couple. Not only that, if you are pulled over or involved in an accident, the charges of DUI and manslaughter still very much apply in the dunes. Don't become another statistic or cause pain to others. Have a fun and safe weekend out there, everyone.

  10. She was probably thinking you were talking about CA Green stickers. I think those are every 2 years. Pro Shop should be selling 2017's real soon. I'm surprised they are still selling 2016 stickers.
  11. No excuse. Whats more important? Getting your buggy ready or the Dune Pic of the Month?
  12. CA Non-resident OHV passes are good until Dec 31 of the year on the pass. They are only 1 year passes. So if you have a 2016 pass, you are good until the end of the year.
  13. So we have one blurry pic of Clark's trailer with party lights on it for Dune Pic of the Month. Really? That's it? C'mon guys. Need some participation here. I was thinking in addition to the DPOM here on DDR, we should make it the cover photo on our Facebook page as well, but if nobody submits any pics it's going away for good.
  14. A few new things have been added to your profiles with the site update. You can add a cover photo and also add photos of your toys to your profile. Just click edit profile and add photos. this will add a "My Sand Toys" tab to your profile.
  15. If you go the Baker route, Mountain Pass is along gradual hill. There aren't many other hills, if any, after that. If you go the Tecopa way, it's a short but very brutal hill. There are a couple small hills to climb throughout the Old Spanish Trail Hwy & HWY 127.
  16. Nice Funco. Looks like a Subie.
  17. Nobody has reported any issues as of yet.
  18. Another update: In case you haven't noticed, we have a fancy new Dune Food section! The link is right under General Chat. I moved most of the recipes we had posted here on the forum over to the Dune Food page. It's a much nicer and easier to read recipe section. Check it out and add one if you have one. http://www.dumontduneriders.com/dune-food/
  19. haha all good. It was posted in general chat first, but then I thought it was so good it deserved to be on the homepage.
  20. Some duners cashed in on the untouched sand one week before they get hammered over Halloween. With weather varying from sunny to overcast and a few drips of rain, it turned out to be a great mix of weather for a day or two in the sand. Starting off the weekend, agphd on Instagram sent us these great shots of the untouched sand and wicked razorbacks followed by one of those epic Dumont sunsets! The Miles family (submitted via our FB) had the dunes all to themselves and even got a few of those passing raindrops as the cool looking clouds paid a visit.
